November 2nd, 2005 - Flatsale officially closes. Judging has commenced!
October 31st, 2005 - Shur'tugal's first flatsale is up and running! Also, a mini hallowe'en event is hosted in the Gambino mansion. Go see!
October 16th, 2005 - IT HAS BEEN DECIDED!

Shur'tugal will be hosting it's very first PROMPT based Flatsale on October 31st, 2005! A time has yet to be decided, and yes, the prompts will be Hallowe'en oriented!

A flatsale means that Dragonfly will have to work extra hard to get everything on the front page ready. ;3

Places of Significance:

Alagaesia

The continent of Alagaesia spans from the realm of elves in the northeast, to the realm of dwarves in the southeast, and to Surda in the southwest. There are many species that make Alagaesia their home, but it is the humans who overall rule the land. The Urgals are said to live in the east, beyond the borders of Alagaesia, but due to their own teritorial arguements, more and more they step foot on other's land. In the past the Urgals were known to fight alongside Galbatorix, but only through false promises were they kept under said rule.

The capitol of the realm of man is ---, once known as Uru'baen when it was under Galbatorix's rule. Now that order has been restored, the true name of the greatest city of man also returns.

Du Weldenvarden

Du Weldenvarden is the realm of the Elves. Only recently have they emerged from their forests to travel all of Alagaesia, and reforge bonds that were broken after Galbatorix's rise to power.

Though the elves are taking their first steps back into the rest of Alagaesia, they still tend to keep mostly to themselves. Only a select few are allowed to pass through the enchanted forest.

Du Weldenvarden is also where the dragon eggs are kept. There is a special ceremony when eggs enbark on journeys around Alagaesia to search for he or she who will bring about the eggs hatching. In the event that the egg does not hatch, it is returned to Du Weldenvarden to await another day.

The Beor Mountains

The Beor Mountains are the tallest mountains in all of Alagaesia. They are over ten miles high; so high, that as one approaches them the peaks fade out of sight and all one can see is a giant wall of ice and snow before you, possibly with a tiny band of trees near the ground. It is in these mountains that the dwarves live, where they believe they were created out of the living granite by their god, Helzvog.
I disclaim this description. It is taken directly from Christopher Paolini's website, www.alagaesia.com All rights reserved. I'll change this later, perhaps. x_x The description, I mean. =P

Surda

Pending due to extreme laziness/lack of knowing what to write. x_x

Vroengard

A small island to the north of Alagaesia. Vroengard is said to be where the first Riders dwelled. The only city on the island is Doru Areaba, and after the first fall of the Riders, it grew desolate, and abandoned. Life has not since flourished in it's ruins. But who knows what the future will bring?

Hadarac Desert

The Hadarac Desert is exactly what it sounds like. A massive desert. Few know what is hidden in it's expanses, for it's blistering sun and lack of water make it next to impossible to live there. Nomads are known to call the desert there home, but other than that... Nothing is really known.

To the east of the Hadarac Desert, where the Edda River meets the Az Ragni there is the town of Hedarth. Little is known of this place at this time. What lies beyond Hedarth is a mystery...

The Hadarac desert borders Du Weldenvarden to the north, the Beor Mountains to the south, and the more fertile lands of Alageasia to the west.

Flatsales

Flatsales cost 15,000g, and are prompt based. Prompts will be posted when the flatsale starts. If you don't have the gold on hand, fear not! PM Shur_tugal, and a payment plan will be negotiated in the even that you win.

Auctions

There will be two auctions sometime in the near future. One for a male masked child, and one for a female elf child. A date has not yet been decided. Probably sometime in December, most likely.

Argetlam - Silver Hand (Referring to the silver mark on a Rider's palm)

finiarel - an honorific for a young man of great promise
Fricai Andlat - death friend (a poisonous mushroom)
Gath un reisa du rakr! - Unite and raise the mist!

vodhr - a male honorific of middling praise.

vor - a male honorific for a close friend.
Waise heill! - Be healed! (used to cure light wounds)

Wiol pomnuria ilian - For my happiness.
wyrda - fate
Wyrdfell - Elven name for the Forsworn (Those who under Galbatorix's rule, brought the end of the Rider's.)
yawe - A bond of trust
zar'roc - Misery (The name of Morzan's sword, later aquired by Eragon. It passes hands again, but I don't want to spoil anything. X: )

The Dwarf Language

Ascudgamln - fists of steel (a dwarvish weapon; one has a special surgery so that his/her knuckles can have steel spikes to screw into the sockets.)
Astim Hefthyn - Sight Guard (inscription on a necklace given to Eragon, used to ward off scryers.)
Az knurl deimi lanok. - Beware, the rock changes.
Az Ragni - The River

NOTE: Some translations do not have proper grammar, as they were quoted from Eragon when he was still learning the ancient language! Once I've looked up, and possibly learned more Old English, I'll see what I can correct, but for the most part, I'm not tampering.
ALSO: Because not everyones computer recognizes certain symbols that are used to get proper pronunciation of words, I have just, removed them. If you want the proper accentations on the letters, look up Shur'tugal on Google, and find yourself a vocab list.
