Q: How much do Talaye cost at a Flatsale?
A: 4k. If you win one at a flatsale you have 24 hours to send me the trade. If you do not send it to me on time you shall lose your basket, it will go to the next person.
Q: What is a Wild Talaye?
A: A Wild Talaye is just that. An owner-less Talaye who has wandered into the meadow looking for a new owner. Roleplay with them and see if they decide to stay with you.
Q: Do I have to roleplay to own a Talaye? / How active must I be?
A: No, you do not have to roleplay; however, this does not mean that you're allowed to purchase a Tala and hop off never to be seen again. Just talk to us a little/stay alive and you'll be fine.
Q: Do roleplayers get extra perks?
A: Always. Roleplayers are the ones who'll end up with evolved Talaye, and keep in mind that only evolved Talaye can breed more than one time. There's more too, of course-- this is just the start!
Q: This is too much for me. Can I sell/trade/give away my Tala?
A: Talk to me about it first, but... I'm going to say yes. You can give away your Tala at any time for free, and you may sell your Tala to me. We'll work out a price when you PM me.
Q: If it's a Newbie flatsale can we enter and try for a friend who dosn't have one? And newbie do you mean no tala at all or no non-growing mini?
A:yes you can try for friends whom dont have talaye's. The people whom enter this can NOT have a normal size talaye OR a Growing mini. If you have a non-growing mini then you may enter.
Q: Whats a talaye mini pot?
A:itsa item given out during a event, that will grow a talaye mini pup into a adult talaye mini
Q:By non-growing mini does that include those who won growth pots in the Easter event too?
A:Okays, the mini's that where given the pots have the ability to breed now... ((All adults can breed X3; thats why the non growings are pups XD;; )) So the ones whom got them are now considered GROWING tala's. Even tho they wont go past adults XP
Q:So can minis given pots evolve if rped enough?
A: NO! Mini's that where given pots to ((IE they where originally NON growings)) can NOT go into evolved.
Q: What if i gave the mini a second pot? Will it grow itl evolved then?
A: No, the pots only bring them into adult stage, other than that if you use another on them you will waste the pot.

Talaye
Talaye were first discovered and domesticated by Native Americans, so they have grown to adopt a very shamanic nature. They seem to be an odd cross between a collie pup and an eagle... although this hasn't been proven. Talaye pups don't really speak, but rather make little noises (that you'll just translate with brackets when roleplaying), whereas adult and evolved Talaye speak perfect human English. Regardless of age, all Talaye can at least understand the human English language.
The Origins of the Talaye

Come child, and sit by the fire for a while, and I shall tell you a tale of hope and trust and honor.
This story has been passed down through many generations from Storyteller to Storyteller. We do not speak of the details, for to do so would put our dear friends at risk. We do not wish for their lands of origin to be ravished by the hungers of modern man. And so we tell the story of Dream Walker, who first met the Eagle Dogs we call the Talaye.
It was many, many turns of the sun ago when a great Chief of our people fell prey to a terrible sickness. None of our medicines could cure him, and the elders feared that his last days were close at hand. We sent scouts to every corner of the world, seeking any medicines which might heal him in his fevered state, but none were to be found. He was a young chief, and had only newly taken a wife. He had no sons to lead us were he to pass on.
And so it was that we wept and looked for signs and portents to aid him, lest wars arise over who should follow him as leader of our nation. On the 13th night of his sickness, he disappeared from his sick bed and was nowhere to be found. The hunters all set out in search of him, fearing perhaps a rival tribe had captured him in the dark of night. But this was not the case. For 12 days the warriors argued and fought over who would lead with our Chief gone. For 12 days blood was shed and fear reigned over our people.
Come dawn of the 13th day, our great Chief strode over the hill into the village, hale and hearty, free of sickness and looking stronger than ever. In each arm he carried a woven basket in which a colorful blanket was set. He told us a fantastic tale of how he had been beckoned in his fever dream, and lead through the hills to a hidden valley, where he met with creatures of great beauty and kindness and power.
They had been hunted nigh unto extinction by dark and dreadful creatures, and as a last hope had called to our Chief through his dreams to come and rescue the last of their kind, two pups who were magically contained in the baskets to hide them from predators. In return for our people's aid and protection of these pups, they cured the great Chief of his illness.
That day, the Chief adopted the new name of Dream Walker, and soon enough the first of the pups emerged, in a burst of magic, from their baskets. They appeared as healthy hounds of an indeterminate breed, of vibrant hues and magnificent patterns, and upon their backs were the wings of eagles. We called them Talaye, for it suited them, and they learned our language, and later they learned English as well.
Through the generations we have protected and aided them, sheltering their newborns and keeping them safe from harm. But now our own numbers dwindle, and we must seek out new protectors for their offspring. So it is we seek those of pure intent and protective spirits to become guardians of the Talaye.
Life Stages
There are four stages that can be achieved in a Tala's lifetime, and these are:
Basket
Newborn Talaye are extremely fragile and shy, so they hide in a little basket for 3 - 10 days before finally coming out to meet their parents and owners.
Pup
Pups are innocent, carefree souls who spend most of their time exploring, playing, forming friendships and learning about life. Pups remain pups for 2-3 weeks, and during this time remain close to their parents.
2-3 feet tall.
Capable of carrying 1 basket in flight, although wobbily.
Adult
The adult Tala is independent, and hopefully more mature than the Tala pup. Adults can mate (usually for life), breed one time, and start their own families.
3-4 feet tall.
Capable of carrying 1 to 2 pup in flight.
Evolved
Evolved Tala are hard to come by, since an adult Tala must work very hard to achieve this final stage. Females and males have different evolved forms, but Talaye rarely change in mentality once evolved... they just look a little different. Evolved Tala can breed as many times as they'd like, so long as their mate is also evolved. All evolved Tala are mated for life, and it is not uncommon to have mated Tala evolve together.
5-6 feet tall.
Are capable of carrying 1 human in flight.
Elementals
There are those talaye who we consider to be gods among gods. We call these the 'elementals.' Very little is known about them. No record has been kept of the types or their individual powers. We learn more as we find and explore their potentials.

The phrase "love sees no gender" is in effect with Talaye, as pairs can be male/female, male/male, or female/female. Most Talaye mate for life.
Only Eros ((tala of love)) Knows how the female/female and male/male breedings work... And he's not talkin XP

Breedings will sometimes be announced, and others be completely by surprise. They may involve trivia, raffles or anything us staffers can think up.
Breeding costs 6000g total for life mates and this can be split however between the owners of the parents.
Breeding costs 8000g if the Talaye are not life mated.
Adult talaye may breed THREE times. The catch is, you can't breed the same talaye twice in a row, you'll have to wait until the next opportunity.
Evolved Talaye may breed an infinite amount of times.
Breeding Elementals
"Love sees no gender or element with Talaye. Odd combinations of Water/Fire, Chaos/Peace, can be achieved. Elementals will only produce one basket each breeding. Yet this basket will be a new element on its own, hence rare. (ex. Water and Fire could produce Steam. Fire and Psychic could produce Pyrokinesis)
Breeding Minis
So you have a talaye mini that is either a SPECIAL or was given a MINI POT? This is the right place to look then:
Mother mini & father mini= All pups are mini's.
Mother mini & father normal= All mini (Come on, a mini birthing normals!? @_@)
mother normal & father mini= Can give birth to both
Mother mini & Mother mini= Only mini's.
Mother Normal & mother mini= Can give birth to both
Father mini & father mini= All mini
Father Normal & father mini= Can give birth to both
The Offspring
Talaye can produce anywhere from 2-6 baskets. (activity in the thread, whether it be chatting or RPing will get you GREATER ODDS of more baskets. RPing is the most efficient way, though.)
First time breedings usually produce only 2 baskets.
Non-Life mates produce only 2 baskets.
Selling Offspring:
Baskets may be kept, auctioned, sold at flat prices, raffled, or given away. 25% of all profit made must return to the Talaye staff.
If you wish to breed your Talaye you must first show interest between the two in the thread (that is if you wish them to be life-mated). When both owners are ready to breed, PM the mule and ask for the breeding slot.

Rules:
The dream talaye is awarded to those who the shop owners deem worthy due to the activity and dedication to the talaye thread/ community.
There will be a dream talaye given out once every 2-3 months.
NOT EVERYONE WILL BE CHOSEN. So don't be upset if you don't get one, it is the staff's decision. Just keep at it!

Guides CAN be bought by anyone, BUT they are more oriented towards Tala Owner's
Guides are an intricate part of a Talaye's life. They help the talaye they have been assigned to reach their final forms.

Guides are rare, some rarer than others. When a tala's owner purchases an guide egg the guide begins to look like the tala. In some cases, even take on it's properties (i.e. elemental guides have elemental powers) One guide per tala. Unless your special, and I say who's special. (I.e. RP events and stuff.)

12.28.04 - I revamped the guild... alot! I've added the option to have your own Journals. A map of the meadow (drawn by moi). Along with new areas to roleplay, all ready for the upcoming RPM and their plots!
12.27.04 -- Roleplay Manager Contest has begun! (I hope I find someone x.x)
12.23.04 - Sadly, one of the SS Tala winners could not accept their gift since they can no longer play on Gaia. Therefore, I shall be raffling their basket tonight. All proceeds shall to to random charities and questors. Raffle tonight, 200g each ticket. 500 tickets shall be sold. Won't close till all tickets are sold. Each person can buy 40 tickets max, but only 20 in their name (the other 20 tickets can be in other peoples name.) Tickets will go on raffle tonight at 8pm EST (5pm PST)

12.28.04 - I revamped the guild... alot! I've added the option to have your own Journals. A map of the meadow (drawn by moi). Along with new areas to roleplay, all ready for the upcoming RPM and their plots!

12.23.04 - Sadly, one of the SS Tala winners could not accept their gift since they can no longer play on Gaia. Therefore, I shall be raffling their basket tonight. All proceeds shall to to random charities and questors. Raffle tonight, 200g each ticket. 500 tickets shall be sold. Won't close till all tickets are sold. Each person can buy 40 tickets max, but only 20 in their name (the other 20 tickets can be in other peoples name.) Tickets will go on raffle tonight at 8pm EST (5pm PST)
