Keep in mind that these are errors that I have encountered and you may not come up with.</center>

Since the new server balancer will be put in place. There is no need for me to update the servers anymore. Though I will keep adding the new servers. This is the end for my serverlist.

Meanwhile, preparation for Anime Expo is about done. We'll be heading out on Thursday, can't wait to see everyone! whee

~Mon Jun 28, 2004 11:51 PM(PST): After some fixes, the load balancer is in place. Hopefully it'll perform without errors tomorrow, and from then on we'll have www.gaiaonline.com as the URL for pointing to threads and so forth, no more dealing with all the server names, and no more errors when one of the web servers go down.

Sorry about the error with sending private messages. It was something related to the friends list feature. After more testing and bug fixing it'll be released to the public. 3nodding

~Fri Jun 25, 2004 4:57 AM(PST): Still working on the search function. The project will allow users to track each other's posts without much delay and to speed up the members list also.

Also happy that everyone like this month's donation item. We already have good ideas for next month's donation item. Can't wait to see them in action. whee

Something I've been working on is a quick way to list posts and topics that a user had posted. No more waiting forever for checking your own posts. whee That feature will come on-line in a week or so.

Hi Xenon Freak: Thank you for your effort in keeping the server status page. Right now we have a list of web servers in rotation to host the forum pages, those are :

meredith:2,edmund:2,bildeau:2,gambino:2,rufus:2,ian:2,gino:2,beatrix:2,
milo:2,elle:2,moira:2,agatha:2,josie:2,dale:2

please omit the colon 2's, I just grabbed the list from the database.

Two more servers will be added this week, and one of them will probably be Rina. wink

It's always good to know how to change server names so that if you run into a server that is currently not working, you know how to veiw that same page by changing the server name. This easy 3-step guide will help you to learn how to do just that.

STEP 1:
You want to locate your server name. In the picture below, the current server name is 'Rufus' (Yours will probably be different). Highlight the current server name and delete it. You are ready for step 2!

STEP 2:
After you have deleted the server you are currently on, you should put in a new server name. Some people have a favorite server because it works best for them even when Gaia is at it's worst times. Choose a server listed here and enter it as the new server in your URL address. As shown in the picture, the user has decided to use the 'Sasha' server to replace the 'Rufus' server. You are now ready for step 3!

STEP 3:
After you have entered in the server, press 'enter' on your keyboard. This will direct you to the server that you entered in the URL adress. If that server isn't working either, just go through steps 1 & 2 again to find the server that works best for you!

This is a small tutorial to guide you through checking your PM's when the nasty server problems occur once again. 6-simple steps with picture guides to help you check your important PM!

STEP 1:
Find the PM you want to open. You are now ready for step 2! (Told ya it was easy)

STEP 2:
Right-click on the PM you want to open and choose "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location". Its different for some computers. Go onto step 3!

STEP 3:
Right-click on the address bar and click on paste. Go to step 4! (Almost done!)

STEP 4:
Find "read" right next to "mode=". Highlight "read" and delete it. Move onto step 5!

STEP 5:
Type on your keyboard "quote" and hit enter. Move onto the final step!

STEP 6:
You will see that you have skipped actually viewing the PM and went directly onto quoting it, notice the 2 arrows below. If there are images in your PM, go down and click on preview to see the images without the image tags. You have now successfully read your PM without a problem!

The dredded critical error page. We all hate it & ph34r (fear) it as well. It hits us when we least expect it and knocks us off our avatar's feet.

But there are some ways that you can fix this. Although there is no way of avoiding it (for now until Beta), there is something you can do about it.

EXPLINATION: OMG!!1 WtF IZ DIS CRITIAL ERROR SHIZNITS?!?1/1
The critical errors are caused by not connecting right to the database as it says itself. No you did not break Gaia, nor can you post anything that will make anyone fix it for you. Complaining does nothing. All you can do at the time of the Critical Period, is be patient. Here are some solutions that may get you past the critical errors and onto your fun Gaia experiance.

POSSIBLE PROBLEM SOLVER #1:
Try refreshing ever 5 seconds. This way will need to to gather some patients as it does not work all the time & sometimes it takes a while for it to work (if it does). Continuously clicking the refresh button rapidly will only get you more agrivated and pissed off. So...don't do that. Just click it once every 5-10 seconds or so, and it may work.

POSSIBLE PROBLEM SOLVER #2:
Change the server. Sometimes the server that you are on will have a retarted moment and not work for anyone. So changing the server should help that situation. For a guide to change the serversin the address bar, CLICK HERE.

If there are anymore ways that you know will always work (unless Gaia itself is down, in which none of these possible solutions will work) PM me with your possible solution!
