Rheffa's guide to lost events and how to get them back

I've seen so many threads about people loosing their rares that I've decided to write my first short "guide" for people.
First off, what is an event? Of course there's already another thread on this, but an event is a rare or uncommon item, or gold, delivered to you in the form of a trunk:

A gift box:

Or a pink link:

A eek ! should appear next to your avatar, proclaiming your luck! And, yes, events are completely random, the more time you spend on the site the more chance you have of getting one.
Ok, so you've found a event! Congratulations! But, eh, what's this? Gaia's down for maintenance? Page cannot be displayed? Well what about your event?!
*refreshes*
*le gasp!* GONE?
Well here's a little guide to finding that event again and getting what you deserve!
Step #1: Don't panic and start hitting refresh and the back and forward buttons! You could perminately loose your event this way.
Step#2:Try changing your server, instead of it being, for example, http:// gino.go-gaia.com/, try changing it to http:// gambino.go-gaia.com or something of the like. You can find a list of all the servers here.
Step #3:Everyone get's a second chance. Take your time on your next few pages and hopefully you'll find your event again. If you can't find your event on the page, scroll down to the very bottom and there should be a link Can't find your event? Click here.
Step #4: Missed your second chance? It happens to the best of us. The next thing to do is on your browser window, choose View> Source. A notepad document should appear with the HTML of the site, but if you search "event" by pressing ctrl+f you should find a tag mentioning "event" and a long number. That's your event number! Paste that into http:// go-gaia.com/?event= (your event number) and your event should appear! But remember, you need to do this on the original page that your even appeared.
Step #5:When all else fails, try deleting your temperary internet files, but going to an internet explorer window tools>internet options..., then clicking on "delete files" under the temperary internet files section. I'm not sure why this works but it does xd Thanks to Sevi Rais. for the information.
Step #6:gone to the homepage, just about to log in a noticed a pink link? Without being logged in? Well that's due to your computer's cache, but here's a simple step for getting your 1000g!
Open up a new window (file>new>window) and log into Gaia from there, go back to the original window with your lovely pink link, click on it! Not only should you be logged in, you should be 1000g richer! Thanks a lot to Astronomical for the helpful info!
Step #7: Tried all of the steps above and your event STILL hasn't shown up? crying Sorry sweeties but you're outta luck. Just hopefully you'll be more careful in the future and remember these rules so you won't miss another one!
Well I've hoped this guide has helped you all, and I'm also hoping for a sticky ^___^ Good luck and happy event hunting everyone!
