The evening is cool; a thin, silvery-blue crescent hangs in the sky above, its gleam delicate against the blanket of stars. The grass feels moist as you walk up a hill. Atop the hill, you can see a small cottage, an orangey light flickering in a window, and the breeze brushing your cheek carries the light sound of children laughing.
Curiously, you walk closer, making your way through a rocky area. But as you turn to step over a stone, you freeze, feeling a sudden cold tingling wash over you. You look to the side, and see there a small, strange figure, gently shimmering with flowing silk and a great banner of greenish-blue hair, and the most pale, smooth skin, like white-glazed porcelain. Its eyes, like aquamarine, or perhaps ice, cut through you.

Before you can wonder, the peculiar sensation comes over you again, and you feel an image forming in your mind. A dark city choked with grime, strange men and women in black coats with leather leashes, and a child, its pure white skin wrapped only in frayed pieces of cloth, curled up in a gutter, crying gemstones. You feel the imprint of a soul brush yours, a restrained, yet compassionate, paternal soul, and see the moon reflected in a sword -- you hear a name spoken, although it is not spoken, and the letters and characters are clearly spelled before your eyes, though you see nothing -- T S U K I B A.
You suddenly break from your trance. Tsukiba is still staring at you. You find that you almost cannot move, but you take a breath, and in the moment it takes to fill your lungs, he turns away in a swirl of shimmering cloth and strides gracefully, almost floating, up the hill, towards the sound of children laughing.
