Hello everyone.

After nearly 3 years of being open and somewhat present within the B/C community, Hiro has made a decision. Elysion is going to be closed.... for a few weeks!

I've talked to my staff and we feel the best thing to do is let this shop get some "official" rest. Yes, we have taken small hiatuses but they've never been official. Thus, this thread will be temporarily closed for business while we re-stock, re-furbish, re-hire, and re-birth.

Essentially, this shop is going to experience a major overhaul and we look forward to re-opening in the near future. We're hoping to have completed all prior duties as well as bringing in new species of wonder and delight into the shop. We thank all of you that came by and said hello or have stayed with us during this quiet year. (Especially you Star Sorceress!)

Despite efforts to bring the shop back, we think this will be the best way to finally let this chapter in our shop's history to close down peacefully and start anew.

Feel free to chat here and post! The shop is only closed for business, not visitors.

May 2009 Updates

Hello All!

It's been quite awhile since our last update but here's some things to look forward to:

1) Monthly Games Suspended for the Time Being.
Due to lack of participation, [and shop-goers] we have decided to temporarily suspend the Monthly Games. We would like to focus our efforts on producing more sales, species and events in order to draw in more regulars and then we will glady bring back the Monthly Game!

2) Flatsale on Friday, May 15 @ 4 PM PST
The flatsale will feature Suzuwa and Mermalades and possibly some Elfill. Previews will be up soon.

3) Rainbow Jewel Customs Day on Saturday, May 30
Yes! For the first time ever we will be hosting a Rainbow Jewel Customs Day. This custom is limited to only Rainbow Jewel owners, no gold transactions! There will be between 3-5 slots. So stay tuned for that!

4) An Event on the Horizon
We're making plans to host an event during the Summer so that everyone can enjoy it. Keep that poll going so we can see what you want, more details as they come!

5) A NEW SPECIE!
Finally we can look forward to the release of a brand new specie! This specie will also bring about two rare sub-breeds so even more fun! Hiroshi is making plans to commission a wonderfully talented artist to bring this specie into Elysien and possibly we'll have another specie as well! Want a hint as to the specie? You somtimes dream about one of them!

o6 | You must confirm growths! What does this mean? In order for your Elysien to continue its growth process, you must confirm their growths. We won't PM you and we do this to avoid people who only come in to get a pet and disappear. Also to encourage you to check in on the thread. Failure to confirm a growth results in the Elysien remaining in its current stage indefinitely until you confirm the growth.
o7 | Never Cheat! Don't use mules in order to gain extra items/pets or for an extra advantage. Also do NOT edit a post. If you miss a chance then editing your post will get you in more trouble.
o8 | You may not sell or trade anything from Elysion without HiR0SHi's permission. This will cause you immediate banishment from Elysion, the shop, my other threads and also confiscation of everything you have here. If you wish to give a pet or item to a friend or someone for free, please conduct it through the shop.
o9 | Follow All Gaia ToS. This is a given and rules are rules and the ToS are the ultimate rules here.
1o | We reserve the right to: refuse you service, not give a refund, confiscate any/all pets or items, limit the amount of pets you have and modify/add any rules as necessary. Don't worry unless I have good cause to do so, you won't need to worry about this.

So.. What are they?
They are all called Elysien. This is the general name for any living thing from Elysion.

Q How can I get one?
A Flatsales, Auction, Events and Raffles.

oooooooAuction = The Highest bid at the of an Auction Wins

Q Can I have a free pet?
A Its against the rules to beg. Free pets are given to those deserving it.

Q Can I invite people into the thread/special events even if they have no pets from here?
A Sure thing! New faces are always welcome as long as they follow the rules.

Q Do I have to host everything on my own server?
A Nope : D We have a special account just to host all the pictures. However, once you reach adult stage it'd help a lot if you could host it yourself ^.^

Q Can I own as many as I want?
A Yes and no. There is no limit but we reserve our right to limit the amount of pets you can have if we feel others deserve a chance.

Q Do you accept items as payment?
A Yes but only donation items and it's a maximum of 12 items for a payment.

Q Do you accept payment plans?
A Nope.

Q Do you accept pet trades?
A Yes but it must be approved by me. PM Elysion for information if you have an offer for a trade. Please don't be offended or crestfallen if I turn your offer down.

Q Are we allowed to co-own?
A Yes but only for auctions or raffles and be sure to inform us that you'll be co-owning. During flatsales we prefer only one person to own one.

Q Can they breed and have babies?
A Yes they can but not whenever you want. Only when a slot is available.

Q Can two of my own breed together?
A No Sorry.

Q Do I HAVE to roleplay?
A No but its always enjoying seeing owners interacting with eachother and their pets. I also give priority to roleplayers when it comes to growths and maybe even for breedings. And dedicated roleplayers may be rewarded. ;D

I made my way southwest after leaving the hustle and bustle of Barton. The winter sun and cold wind made a bitter combination but I trekked along the path, determined to make it to Durem by nightfall. Despite the contemplations in my mind, I noticed for the first time ever a fork in the road. One road to durem. The other unmarked.. I took the road less traveled by.

I was curious and wanted to see where such a road led. As I drew closer, I could begin to make out a mountain scape in the distance. The closer I got, the more fine details I could make out, the mountainhad 3 high and thick peaks. As the sun set, I drew close to the base of the mountain, there was a rickety old gate-looking entrance leading to a ramshackle bridge across a chasm to the base of the mountain. The gate had probably been a sight worth seeing at one point but time had taken its toll on it and the bridge.

Nearyby there was a humble cottage. I felt drawn to the cottage for some reason and pondered the notion of seeing who lived their but as soon as the thought crossed my mind, an elderly looking woman with a lavender shawl and matching gown stepped out. She motioned to me to come in. I shook my head in refusal but she persisted, drawing closer and I finally gave in and walked to her home.

"Hello there young curious traveler, what brings you to these unexplored areas of Gaia?" She asked kindly. "Hardly anyone ventures to the Mountains of Cerberus anymore.."
"I.." My voice faltered but I then spoke up and somewhat manged. "I gu-guess I.. w-was drawn here."
"I presumed you would be," she said mysteriously. "Would you like some rose tea?"
"Um.. Yes sure.. Th-thank you."

As she stepped into her kitchen I gazed around curiously at her cottage. Its decor was quite simple but as I looked more closely, I saw that she had quite wondrous and mystical objects around her home. She also had various berries, fruits, and herbs of mythical looks and interesting designs around, she was truly.. eccentric.

"Here it is," she said happily with a smile, the smooth wrinkles in her face showing her age. She gingerly placed the teacup before me and took a seat across from me.
"Thank you miss.. Ummm.." I tried searching for what to say but she came foward and said.
"My name is Chaeron. And don't worry over formalities." I smiled and nodded, taking a sip of the warm drink.

She was quite the hostess, beginning with small talk which led to fascinating stories of myth and legend beautifully, each story an amazing experience for the mind. My favorite tale was one over a girl and a land, a paradise as she tended to call it, Elysion..

"Centuries ago," She began with a twinkle in her eyes. "A young girl stumbled upon a mythical place she found to be a paradise.. It had everything nature held in its depths, perfected. She found herself never wanting to leave, always in merriment with the Elysiens in the variety of areas. All knew her, trusted her and loved her in Elysion. In Gaia, she was presumed to be dead after 7 years had passed since her disappearance. Her myriad of friends urged her to visit her family, so they would no onger mourn her, fearing the worst. One visit would not hurt. She did as they bade her and when she returned, her home village was in astonishment at her reappearance. They thought she had been dead and suddenly she was there, exactly the same as when she had left, untouched by time. All were fascinated by the tales she so lovingly wove for them of Elysion. It all seemed so supernatural that some began to speculate.

"She's a ghost!" "She must've been expelled from there, why else would she return?" "Her wandering spirit must've found her body.."

Fearing the unknown, the townspeople ostracized her and she became an outcast. Even her family only half-believed her, thinking she simply had lost her way, gone delirious and by chance, made it back. It was too much. She ran. Wandering Gaia in search of her lost home, not soon falling through the aromatic mist back into her paradise. She became a child of Elysion, a child untouched by times.

Rumors of her disappearance, appearance, and paradise became so common it rose to myth and legend. Eventually all saw the 'occurence' as the prophecy of the rosy future the dead could look foward too.."

My eye lids began to fall heavy and I stifled a yawn.
"Oh my it is getting rather late," chaeron said, placing her hand to her mouth in concern. "I'm sorry for keeping you up so long. Allow me to show you to your bed."

I opened my mouth in protest but she persisted as usual and I soon found myself in the deepest most relaxing sleep I had ever been in..

I awoke with a start, hearing the murmurs and sighs of the river next to me. I looked around in shock and found that I was in a misty clearing within a forest next to a river. However the air seemed thin, I definitely wasn't in chaeron's cottage anymore. I began to explore slowly on the side of the river I was on. I found nothing but the mist thinnning the farther I got so returned. I decided to try crossing the river. It was beautiful. It seemed to possess every color of the rainbow in its cool waters and multi-colored fish surrounded my waist as I started wading through. One bright lavender and silver fish caught my eye and seemed to be guiding me. I followed it and as I did the mist became thicker but held a pleasant sensation within it. Soon I had gotten through to the other side, I assumed. I gazed up and saw a wondrous gate before me, it was vaguely familiar but was truly breath-taking. A light came from it, warming my body and I heard a gentle voice beckoning to me. The mist swirled around my body and everything around me faded into white oblivion.

I opened my eyes and found myself in a place of unexplicable beauty. I could see silver white and blue clouds in a marble blue sky, snow-crested mountaintops, firey volcanoes, a distant ocean and beautiful forests all around me from the lush green field I stood in. I was in awe in this place of unexplicable beauty and wonder. I turned to find a young woman at my side. She was beautiful, she has long flowing tresses of silver hair and wore a beautiful lavender gown and had deep gray eyes. She seemed so surreal.

My voice cracking in wonder as my mind told so firmly who it was.
"Chae.. Chaeron..?"
She smiled and spread her arms before me in a welcoming way, motioning at the beauty before us.

"Welcome young traveler, immerse yourself in this legendary escape that
is true paradise.. I Welcome you to Elysion.."

Chibi species are the smallest inhabitants of Elysion. Many of them simply come out to bond with more widely known Elysiens, others come out simply for the sake of friendship with visitors.

Roleplay Rules
* Please be courteous when roleplaying, don't god-mod!
* Please be literate when roleplaying, d0n't t@lk l!k3 th!s. We love literacy XD
* You may roleplay Elysiens only in Elysion. This is only because they can not leave.
* You may roleplay pets from other shops here whether you have an Elysiem or not if you'd like. However they may not spend a night in an area other than the fields of Elysion.
* If you don't own an Elysiem you may still explore as yourself, an OC or with a pet from another shop.
* Brackets (( )) are not required when roleplaying, however, it's just common breedables roleplay etiquette so that the flow of the roleplay is not interrupted with chat. If you are not participating in the roleplay you do not have to post in brackets and can chat normally if you'd like.
* This is not a requirement but roleplaying with your text in the same color as your pet does help distinguish roleplays easier and can be used instead of brackets for roleplay and chat.

Story..
Centuries ago, Iris the Goddess of the Rainbow kept the various colors of the rainbow safely kept within the Kaleid of Iris. Whenever she felt like letting some color into Elysion, she would carefully open her Kaleid and a stream of colors, the rainbow, would come out in its full beauty into the land.
One day, Chaeron was visiting Iris and saw the beautiful Kaleid of Iris on its pedestal and carefully picked it up. Iris smiled and told her to open it just a peep. Chaeron did so and lo and behold! A Rainbow came forth! Poor Chaeron, however, was startled and dropped the Kaleid. It shattered into hundreds of pieces and the colors swirled around the room in utter chaos. They had just began to settle down, each color melding into a shard of the Kaleid, creating beautiful gems, when the mischievous Zephyrus blew by! The jewels flew around Iris and Chaeron in a frenzy and shot off into different directions. Chaeron felt terrible. She apologized like a madwoman but Iris soothed and comforted her.
"All I ask if you to to find me those gems that Zephyrus scattered so I may rebuild my Kaleid," Iris stated. "When the Kaleid has been rebuilt I will reward you for your efforts. My powers of the rainbow and colors therein may also be extended to color any Elysien in the way you desire.. Rebuild my Kaleid."

o3 | In order to breed, each owner must give their consent to allow the breeding.
o4 | Traits are passed from the parents, you may not choose how the offspring will look.
o5 | Breeding Slots will Usually be announced a Week or so Ahead of time.
o6 | It is up to the owners to decide how to distribute the offspring. You may keep only one for yourself per breeding. You are allowed to give away as many as you wish to a friend or you can sell it through the store. The gold will be split like so: 40% to the owners, 40% to the colorist & 20% to the shop. You may NOT abuse this priviledge in order to gain only gold, if I suspect people of using the pets in order to gain profits, this priviledge will be taken away.
o7 | You may only breed your Elysien every other breeding. This is to allow others a chance for breeding. However if there is an opening and the Breeder allows it, you may breed them again.
o8 | You may breed 2 of your own Elysien together. You may still only keep one of the offspring for yourself. The remainning offspring may be given away for free. If sold, the owner will only recieve 20% of the profit.
