The chatterbox is the fastest moving forum on Gaia, and is a place in which users post spam to achieve the amount of gold that they want. However, there are rules. You can find the information here:

Take notice of all of the information that is given to you. Not only will it help, but nobody likes to be reported for playing against the rules.

The Questions and Feedback forum is where many users ask questions. There isn't much point in posting if a question has been suitably answered already. There is more information on the following link: How to: Be a Q&Fer. Although the thread has closed, you can still find relevant information on there as to how to use the Q&F forum properly.

Advertising on Gaia is only allowed in two places. That is in your signature, and on the chatterbox. Doing this in any other forum is against the rules.

Cybering in Gaia is frowned upon and is prohibited in all areas of the site. If you see anyone doing this, report them to an online moderator.
It is not tolerated in private messages (PMs) either. Gaia also has a PG13 rating. Here is where you can find more information: [A reminder about CYBERING..]

Chain letters are NOT allowed on Gaia at all. If anyone PMs you with any form of chain letter, report them to an online moderator. If you send chain letters, you will be warned. If you continue to send them, you can be banned. There is an announcement about this on the chatterbox, and there is a link to it above in the FAQ Linklist.

Spamming is only allowed on the chatterbox. Bumping is allowed on the chatterbox and in the minishops forum. Bear in mind that bumps in the minishops forum is only allowed because it raises the shop threads of users. BUMP essentially means - Bring Up My Post. Threads in other forums to NOT need to be bumped.

There are three corresponding suggestion threads listed in the FAQ Linklist here. Ideas are welcomed, but make sure you post them on the correct thread for what you are intending to post about. Make sure you read the information provided there before you make a suggestion.

Do not post huge pictures. It is annoying and can stretch the page for most users, making the pages difficult to navigate. In signatures, Gaia has a size limit of 500x500 pixels for pictures, with a file size of 100kb. If you have a signature size that exceeds this, change it immediately. If you see someone else exceeding this limit in their signature, PM an online moderator.

This is NOT allowed on Gaia. Anyone who is found doing any of this will be banned. There is more information here: Banning For Botters: The F.A.Q..

Gold can be acquired from doing just about anything on Gaia. Clicking around the site, and posting a lot are the main methods. There is an array of different forums, so find the ones that are relevant to your interests, and post. Voting in polls also gets you gold. The newest addition is Gaia fishing. All the fish have different values, and even the ones that aren't worth much will get you a lot of gold if you catch a lot of them.

One of the first things to make sure you do is to get a trading pass (500 gold) and a vending license (1000 gold) from the bank. It may take a little while for you to acquire these, but they're very useful once you have them. See "Scams" in this section for more information on the rights and wrongs of trading.

Trading pass: Allows you to trade gold and items with other users.
Vending license: Allows you to sell items in the marketplace at prices of your choosing.

There is a newly introduced system where users will be redirected when they click on a link that will take them outside of the Gaia website. A frame will appear at the top that tells a user that they are leaving Gaia. This happens even if the link is still within Gaia. It's nothing to worry about, and you can easily take the frame off. This is to ensure password and account protection. Nobody in authority on Gaia will ask for your password, ever. They have no need to. If you are ever asked for your account and password information, inform a moderator immediately.

You can keep track of the threads you like to post in on Gaia. This system was introduced so that users didn't lose the threads they wanted to continually return to. You can subscribe to threads by clicking the button at the bottom left of the screen on a thread.

Rare events will sometimes appear beside your avatar at the top of the screen. Look at the "Rares" FAQ which is linked further down in this topic for more details. Rare events are unmistakeable, as the eek face with a red exclamation mark is seen in the little speech bubble beside the avatar. This could be: an enchanted bouncing trunk, or a flying box. If you see one of those, click it. The flying boxes hold rarer items than the enchanted trunks. Another rare event is a pink link. If you see a link on the screen when the shock face appears in the speech bubble, click on it to gain 1000 gold. If, however you cannot locate the event when the alert appears, there should be a link in which you can retrieve your event at the very bottom of the screen. If not, contact a moderator.

There's more information further down this FAQ in the "Upcoming Features" section. Do note that Gaia Fishing does sometimes have its issues with going awry. When these problems occur, just be patient. The admins work as fast as they can to resolve problems. There are some more links concerning fishing in the "upcoming features" section, and a repeated helpful link in the "notes".

* Begging for gold continually.
Users can easily make gold for themselves, and if you're really hard up and are needing some help, take it to the Charity forum. This is located in the Gaia Exchange forum, listed in the sub-forums section at the top. Begging should not be in the chatterbox. Scams for begging include: harassing other users and demanding gold from them, asking for gold if you are already well-off.
Charity/Quests Forum

* Lying about prizes for contests/trades.
Setting up a contest with a gold/item prize at the end of it, and then denying that prize is a scam. It is NOT allowed. Also, promising a specific trade to another user, and then not keeping to it is also scamming.

Note: If you see any of this occurring, or if it happens to you, report to an online moderator immediately. Offenders will receive warnings, temporary bans, and if the case is severe, a permanent ban may be made.</center>

With regards to where this thread was created, and why it is here, does not need to have feedback from other users. New threads should not be posted in the Extended Feedback forum. They should be made either in the Q&F or test forums. I have spoken to Dri about making this FAQ, and I have followed her rules and guidelines exactly. This FAQ was created in the test forum, and was then moved here by another moderator after I had updated a relevant amount of information for it to be moved here.

There are many help topics that bear a great number of similarities and repeated information in them. Other users portray their own help topics in various different ways, and not all of them will say the "exact" same thing. I have also discussed this with Dri as I was concerned about the idea of a repeat/double topic. This has been sorted, and my topic is as liable to be useful as the next. Nothing more needs to be said on the issue.

Errors and glitches that are found around all different parts of Gaia should always be reported to a moderator. Users have taken advantage of potential glitches, and the most recent one was to do with the new fishing mini-game.
