*picks up a microphone* Aherhem.... Is this thing on? Oh, good!

*strikes a pose* Welcome, new writers and Writers' Forum members! biggrin My name is Disgruntled Peony and I'll be your tour guide around the wonderful place we call the WF. This thread is the perfect place to introduce yourself, state your main writing interests, and make new friends. But before introduction time, let's begin...

The Tour!

At the top of the main Writer's Forum page, we have the Subforums. There are five categories: Original Poetry/Lyricism, Original Stories/Prose, Fanfiction, Collaborative works, and Writing Contests. Each of these categories are quite useful, and utilizing them is highly recommended.

After the Subforums, we have the Announcements and Stickies. Aren't they gorgeous? These beautiful threads have earned so much merit that they have been permanently placed at the top of every page. I highly recommend taking a good, long look at each and every one of them. They're beautiful pieces of work, if I do say so myself.

Then we have the main body of the forum. Here you can read a number of interesting threads on various topics of writing. You should take particular note of the Authors & Audience and EleventyOne threads, as well as threads like The Question Box. Threads such as these can prove both entertaining and useful. They also provide a good place to get to know well-established WFers who can assist you with both forum- and writing-related questions.

A final note: before creating a post of your own, it is wise to check the first page or two of posts to see if someone else has already created a post for the same topic recently. Not only will you save space by avoiding what I like to call Repost Syndrome, but you may very well find your question answered before you even have to ask it! 3nodding

Well! Now that we've got the tour out of the way, let's move on to...

The Introductions!

Alright, everyone! Now that you've got a feel for the place, why don't you take the time to introduce yourself and talk with fellow writers? As a bit of an icebreaker, I'll go first.

Hello, everyone! I'm 20 years old and I've been writing fiction for close to five years now. I've been active on the Writer's Forum for about eight months. My favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy and mainstream fiction, but I've also been known to dabble in everything from horror to angsty romance (I can't write fluffy romance, as I've discovered through experience).

Well, I guess that's everything. Thank you for reading and welcome to the Writer's Forum!
Hello; I'm Jahoclave. I've been voted the People's Choice a*****e Award reciepent two years running. So it is best that you post in the correct forums and not complain when I critique your work. Just remember some simple rules. Grammar, I prefer you use it. Your brain, I'd prefer you think about what you write. Common Sense, I suggest you pratice it.

Otherwise you may be hearing from me again, in a not so pleasent way. wink
Heeeeeeeeeeeey...should everyone do intros? ninja

I'm 16, with no clue how long I've been writing fiction. I don't even know how long I've been on fanfiction.net, sadly. At least since freshman year.

My favorite kinds of stories are fantasy, science fiction and alternate history. Least favorite is realistic fiction, though I'll read it on occasion. I write in my favorites and sometimes, if I'm stupid enough, I'll try (the horror!) poetry.

So...um...yeah. That be me, returning from about a week or two of Gaia vacation.
This is a great idea Peony!
Anyways, Im Birdbrain [call me Birdy]. My favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi. I've been writing fiction since I could write words, but my stories have improved slightly since then. As Jahoclave said, I enjoy it when people post using correct grammar.
Yep...Thats it! xd
Hi, I'm Kyndall, operator of the Question Box. (Yay, we got a mention!) I'm going on 16, and I've been active on and off in this forum for... er... quite a few months. sweatdrop I've been writing for five years, mostly doing humor and fantasy stories. I'm not a fan of angst, high school stories, vampire stories, high fantasy (Tolkien imitations) or poetry.

I absolutely refuse to read anything that is titled 'The Noun of the Noun. Unless it's a parody.

Misinformation and bad grammar physically pain me, so please try to correct your work before posting.

Erp... guess that's all. Hope to see you all around.
Hi, I'm Nightfalltwilight
I like to write romance/sci-fi and fantasy. ^_^ I got on anf off this forum... Only when people ask what type of genre i like.... sweatdrop
My name is Anne Rice. My books are adored all around the world, and all you critics are just interrogating it from the wrong perspective!

Now, I'm off to make Rice Krispee squares.

I'm Bane. I spend my time mocking those more successful than me, and I enjoy interrogating texts from the wrong perspective.
Hello
I'm 11
I'm Dragon Lilly but I usually go by DL or Lilly
I've been writing for a couple years, mostly poetry
If you want to talk to or ask a fellow writer something, you can always PM me
I would be Lady Brimstone or BS for short. Im a frequenter of the WF, a self proclaimed mod of the riddle thread, and one of the nicer informers of misplaced threads xd

i like sushi and hot tubbing anytime! whee

nix both of that, actually despise both habits xp

Im currently in the design process of my current project, but im mostly working in the procastination stage whee you'll probably see more comics and drawings from me, then any actual serious writing work xd

Wheezing Regular

I'm Hemp Fandango, though most call me Hemp. For... obvious reasons.

I'm seventeen and I've been writing since... oh, I don't know when. Since I was nine I guess. I've only started writing well in the last 11 months. I am rather wanky but I'm okay with it.

I enjoy writing/reading parodies, fanfictions, MSTs, trashy/smutty slash fics. I'm generally friendly enough unless I'm forced to deal with whiny, belligerent authors.

P.S. Bane's a communist.
Hello, I'm Moths/Ebalicous

I can sometimes be as much as an a*****e as our dear Clavy, and I have rarely shown up these past few months. I suppose I'll be coming back, if the new regulars don't scare me off.

So ends our precious eleventyone thread... sad
Bane is on Fire!

Oh yeah, this is Anne, she has been trying to beat me for the a*****e Award but she just can't top me. Though, she does make delicous Rice Krispee squares. I wouldn't piss her off though, she gets very angry. And when she gets angry she brings new meaning to the dark side of the force.
Hello, my name is tgas, and I have a problem. Yes, tgas. All lowercase. Even when starting a sentence. No, I do not like e e cummings. In fact, I have issues with that man. I despise the English language at regular intervals, tend to spell with extra "u"'s and it's "theatre" not "theater."

Writing wise, I remember some stupid b***h plagarized me back in the third grade. I remember wanting to kick her a** at the playground, but the stupid teachers stopped me. I write oodles of mindless garbage that you will not see unless you're special.

I also believe that outlines are StANa, 3'/e'/\/\ ~*~*~p4eG3/\/~*~*~, and I become easily annoyed. If you mispost you will have to suffer my badly made graphics (Damn you, MS Paint). I also like puppies, long walks on the beach, and white wine. Actually, I don't. But that can be overlooked.
Hey, I'm Poppy. I'm currently fifteen, I live in a cardboard box somewhere in Canada, and enjoy writing short stories of various genres. 3nodding I don't often make appearances here in the WF, but I assure you, I'm always here... ninja

Well, I am for at least four hours a day, anyway. whee

I try to be fair when I critique people's work, and avoid being an a**. Of course, if I've had to report around 20 or so misplaced threads that day, there isn't much hope of me being civil. wink Beware the emoticat in my sig. Which doesn't appear to be showing up at the moment... Oh well...

ANYHOO, there's my poorly organized introduction to... well, me.

Yeah.
I'm the Norse god of Poetry (among other things), I'm responsible for humanity developing poetry. It would be a TOS violation to explain how I went about this. These days, I'm thinking that all that effort may have been wasted. Oh, the pain. stressed
