I will be redoing the ENTIRE shop. I'm going to change the backstory, as well, I plan to re-draw, and CG all the past Xi's to fit with a slightly newer style. :3 So please stay tuned for updates. Owners will be sent a message regarding the new updates, and if they wish to keep their Xi.

Thread Rules


1: Do not needlessly spam. This includes asking multiple times to buy one, or when the next sale, or auction is. Ask once, or check the announcements. I will make sure to get back to it.
2: Be nice, and respectable to others.
3: Do not flame anyone for any reason, make sensible comments. I don't care if they broke a rule, you don't yell at them, you politely explain it.
4: Follow all Gaian rules. Period.
5: Cursing if any, is to be kept to a minimum. This place is to be safe for everyone.
6: If Raja says get out of her thread, get out. I'm not mean, you probably deserve it.
7: Enjoy the thread, and feel free to chat. Chatting = Good, spam = bad.
8: And before I forget. 1337 15 ||07 0|<! And caps are obnoxious if overused.


Rules Regarding Xi-Wang Academy


1: Do not claim to have created them. That's just theft.
2: Do not alter the images without prior permission.
3: I have the right to refuse sale to anyone if they have broken my rules.
4: Read the information before you ask questions about them.
5: Stealing someone elses student is not ok, I will send someone to get you if I see this.
6: Do not pester me about your student growing up, I don't use templates, thus it takes me time to draw each new one. And perhaps, you didn't even meet the requirements of growing up.
7: PMing me about buying, bidding, or anything regarding sales is not ok. That's called sniping. Not only will I ignore any purchase regarding it, but it's rude to everyone else, and ticks me off.
8: The students are sentient, if you are allowed to name yours, don't name it Fluffy.
9: You may own only one student from each class. Each class is ten kids. This is to ensure they go to various host parents.
10: Roleplay IS required, you must post at least THREE paragraphs in your journal a month. This can be from an RP session, or what not, just as long as it's a decent amount.
11: Enjoy your student, otherwise I shouldn't be making them.
12: Follow and read these rules.

The Basics

A typical Student COULD pass for a human in many ways, they have the basic build, and features of one. Save for as an adult they do receive a tattoo of sorts somewhere on their skin. This tattoo is to show a mastery of their main classes. Thus the tattoo will more, or less go with their major alignment(more detail later). Now this is assuming there is nothing out of the ordinary, student can also have features such as animal charactaristic, wings, even I don't know the entire capacity to it.

As well, they can have abnormal hair colors, and sometimes skin tones. Markings, and so forth. Though, I have yet to see any that do not still bear a resemblance to a human. But they are as varied as we Gaians I would say.


The Alignment System

First off, let's explain the difference between a major, and minor alignment.

Major alignments are the chracteristics that are most likely to show up in a student's appearance, and or attributes. As well, the tattoo will somehow resemble their major alignment. Another note is that most times any children that the student may have will carry this alignment on from the parent.

Minor alignments are the secondary. The student MAY bear features, and, or influence from this alignment, but generally not. It's a rare occurance really. As well, it can sometimes be seen affecting the adults tattoo, but generally not. It's a rare thing for this to even be passed on to the children. In general, you can say it's a lesser version of the major.

Now, before I explain what the alignments are really, I'm going to talk about pures, and mixes.

Pures are those who have matching Majors, and minors. These are extremely rare, even if two matching majors have a child, it is still a 1/15 chance to actually get a pure. We don't really know why this is, but it's just how things are.

Pures generally show high capabilities with their alignment, and many times will bear many interesting traits. Not much is known about them really, as I've yet to come across them much.

Mixes are all those that do not fall into the catagory of pures. They have mis-matched major, and minor alignments, and these are actually the normal occurance. There is no real class distinction between the two really, it's just how things are. Mixes are less likely to have as strong an ability as pures with the same alignment, but it's up to you to decide if that matters.


Now then the alignments themselves. There are six basics, each similar one of ours, but they still insist on using their origional names for them. So I will first say the student's way of defining it, and the similarity I have come across.

Nasu'Maki - Earth: These students often bear features similar to animals. Their tattoos will often be deep shades of green, browns, and oranges. Though others have been documented.

Maei'Inai - Water: Most known for a graceful beauty, and pale skin tones. These will sometimes bear aquautic features. Though are not as well known for having physical features out of the ordinary. Their tattoos are known to be various shades of blue, and white. Of course, others have been documented.

Nilou'Daku - Wind: Light, and often frail. A noticable feature that often goes along with them is wings. The type may vary. Sometimes if this is simply a minor, they may be born with smaller wings, or on an odd occaision only one. Their tattoos are often soft greens, light blues, and whites. There are other possibilities.

Rakoi'Nu - Fire: Known for often having very defined features. Brilliant colors, and elaborate tattoos even from birth are prominant in these. Their tattoo colors are general oranges, reds, and blacks. Again, there are exceptions.

Aufu'Jui - Holy: Generally known for a more light appearance, they are often have angelic wings. Their tattoo colors are usually white, and a very soft blue. Though, this is not always true.

Ikai'Rau - Dark: Lastly, these are the opposite of their counterpart. Known for dark shades, and their own demonic wings. Their tattoo colors are generally black, and crimson. Again, it can be different.

So now you know the six alignments, now we get to explain how you can tell yur alignment.. How you can tell an alignment is simple really. Just take the first half of the name. And the second half of the minor. Put this together, and we get the alignment. Is that understandable?

Well, let's do an example.
A Water major, and Wind minor.
Major: Maei(From Maei'Inai)
Minor: Daku(From Nilou'Daku)

We get the alignment Maei'Daku.

Now then, I hope you all understood this lesson on alignments, because I'm not finished yet.


Aging System

Child- Students first arrive at the academy at this age. They generally have just discovered their own abilities, and so are still adjusting. They will be taking up to four classes. Two required are their major, and minor alignment classes. The other two you may choose, or leave blank.

Teenager- They've been at the academy for a while, and know the main parts. They've been taking a while of their major, and minor alignment classes, and should be able to use their abilities decently. They may be taking up to six classes at a given time, the two required, and four optional. If they where taking classes as a child, those will continue on into this stage, and are half completed. You COULD choose to drop them, but if you do so, you lose all credit from these classes. Any new classes added start at zero credit of course.

Personalities and Language
Students ARE sentient, they can think for themselves. Most things are, but I want to make this clear. As well they do speak english, and some maybe pick up on other languages. Their capacity to doing this is really up to the individual, seeing as how they are all different.

Each has it's own personality, and they can be as varied as our own, so I won't be able to put any barriers to it. The sky is the limit I suppose, but it's important to explain this I think.

Relationships


Like all things, students can, and most likely will fall in love. As to who they fall in love with, well that's up to them. This means that heterosexual, and homosexual couples are allowed.

Now I don't know your student, and so they may end up liking someone as a child, but generally the partners will not be achknowledged until they are adults. As adults of course, they could start a family, and so forth.

As to starting a relationship, well this of course happens in roleplaying, or journals. You don't just walk up to a stranger, and ask them if they want to have a child, or adopt. It just doesn't work like that, I know I'd smack someone if they did that to me, and it's the same for a student(I would hope). Bonds are formed, and then perhaps they will choose to have children. Unless there is obviously some background to it, I will not support a partnering.

Students can fall in, and out of love just as people do. So if this is roleplayed out, it will be accepted. It's not really promoted, but it's bound to happen. So we of course allow it.

That's about the main points I want to say in this bit, now to just what all of this leads to.


Children


So what does love lead to? Perhaps wanting your own little of bundle of joy to care for? Certainly I would think so.

Heterosexual couples will have a child much like humans do, though it won't take quite the time it does for humans. Their gestation period is a lot shorter than our own. But anyway, in this case if there is to be a child, you will most likely get just one. Twins are rare. This means if there are multiple host parents involved you will have to decide on what you want to do with this. Generally the child will resemble the parents, as well bear similar alignments. Though we can't say for certain exactly.

As for homosexual couples, they may adopt children. These will normally match the gender of their parents, because it would be bad to toss a child in a house with no one of the same gender to look up to. We will try and locate someone for them to adopt that has a similar appearance, and alignment to the parents, but there are always flukes. There is almost no chance of getting twins with this, but if there is a slight mistake with the device, or two students have a similar enough signature, two might be brought, and so you might get twins. Again though, because this is rare, generally you will need to talk to the Keepers about who's side will be the official caretaker of the child.

And that's that for basic information you should know about Children.

Ok, I need to talk to you about this. It's important, because roleplaying is required for the students.

Roleplay Rules(Basics)

1: Students can talk, they have personalities. Each is unique. Keep this in mind.
2: God-moding = NO!
3: You may roleplay yourself as well. Students have to get used to Gaians too, but keep in mind it will be assumed you are currently a guest in the outer academy area. NOT in an adoption agency, or a thread.
4: If you don't like roleplaying, you can do a journal instead.
5: Be realistic, sure this is fantasy, but keep it real enough.
6: If you roleplay yourself, don't bring in any super wierd powers, you are to be HUMAN. No elves, drows, dragon people, you get the idea.
7: Fighting is allowed, everyone has spats, but lets keep it to a minimum.
8: PG13 please.
