Welcome to The Waters Between!

Somewhere in the ocean, miles below where human eyes and ears have traveled, there lies a current. It is a great sweeping motion of water, it runs contrary to gravity and physics and defies the pull of the moon and the movement of the tides. Once a creature enters the current it will be dragged along. Many find their deaths there, pulled apart by fast water or managing to exit only to find themselves dashed against rocks or reefs. Of all creatures, only the Sea Serpents know instinctively how to use this current and it is their route to one another's birthplaces and homes.
This is the Waterway.
Rules for The Waters Between (and RPing in general)

RP Guidelines:

The Waters Between is a changeable enviroment. Don't like my default setting? Want to take the current to another Serpent's habitate? Feel free, as long as you put a post with a description of your setting so others can join in!

Do not god-mod. RPing should be like tag. Sometimes we lead and sometimes we chase, but it's always in fun. God-mod making every RP a game of Follow the Leader where no-one gets to quit and only one person ever gets to be the leader. The simple rule to remember is that you find yourself RPing someone else's pet as in the following:
'Ka keeled over dead'
or
'Squall's left! Let's all run away'
well... when you start doing that... STOP.

You are your Everblue. This is a place where the player can become their Everblue.

Wrong:
Gullien and Squall swam down to see what was going on in the lagoon.
Squall belched.

Right:
Squall took his place in the mouth of the tunnel again. There was always one squirt that took it in his head to try to run out there. Didn't they realize how dangerous that was? He shook his head and sighed as a new scent reached him.

Remember, even tho we can't understand them, Everblue can talk to one another!

Time need not apply. No-one else here? Instead of writing:
'Squall waiting around for hours and left in a huff', try
'Squall began to collect pretty shells'.
Perhaps when you log on next, someone will have had their Everblue interact with Squall.

Above all else, play nicely and have fun.
Default Setting:

The Open Seas - home of the Everblue

Here pods of Everblue can form and meet. It is a lush place, the coral home to shrimp and other delicacies and the open ocean full of schooling fish. Occasionally an Everblue may decend into one of the wide, dark chasms to search for squid and adventure.
For the inventive Everblue, this place is ever changing and interesting. Rotted out barrels, piles of coral and tangled ropes make a natural obstacle course for those who love to race while dreamers can watch life amoung the corals for hours.
As with any place, it has it's dangers although they are less. The open sea makes it easy to spot sharks, be they tiger sharks from the sea or barracuda or cookie-cutter sharks from the reef. While most Everblues and sharks will ignore each other here, woe be to any lesser shark who attempts to attack a pod of strong Everblue adults.
Fishing boats and tourists boats will stop here occasionally, but it's a simple matter for an adult Blue to stay submerged and avoid there attention (and perhaps steal some of their catch!)
The real only danger is for unwary Everblues that stay too close to the shore during bad weather. They run the risk of being cut to shreads against the coral.
For the average and intelligent Everblue, Open Sea is a peaceful place to explore and relax.

The Waterway is a route to the homes of any of the Sea Serpent species. Should your serpent wish to take The Waterway to a place that isn't the Open Seas or is indeed a place uncharted by the USS Leviathan, feel free!
However, please post a description of where your Serpent is located so that others may join it (or find that it has abruptly joined them).

((first one... plese join in))

NiUmi wandered into the open seas. Even though her mother had told her several times to stay away for bigger species found there way here, NiUmi did not answer. She had heard the rumors of the larger species of Everblues and was determined to see one for the first time. She darted in and out of the coral, her purple and maroon stripes blending in perfectly with the coral and its shadows. Although she was certain that Everblues were friendly, she knew that she could probably find refuge in her native coral if the need came.

As she did not see any Everblues or even any fellow Coraleaters at the time, she started playing a little game of her own, darting in and out of the coral.
Poking her way around the old barrels and ropes, Miyako made her way into the open waters for the first time. Having only wandered in the Everblue grotto, she was still getting used to the current. Dodging her way carefully, she avoided the sharp coral. Seeing the Coraleater, she shrank behind a rather large rock. The young Everblue had never seen a different species before and didn't know what to think of it.

NiUmi, bored of darting in and out of the coral, took a floating position just above the coral. She could not believe that she swam all this way, with the wrath of her mother waiting for her, and had not seen an Everblue. She decided to give up today and try again tomorrow. NiUmi turned to fight the current back home, when, suddenly, she saw a flash of green dart behind a large rock. As the current was not moving as fast, a plant could not have floated behind the rock. Rion was the only Coraleater she knew of that was green, and she had not seen him all day. And why would he hide behind a rock?

And, then, she realize what it was. It was an Everblue! How excited she was! Her dreams would come true today! She swam up to the rock and saw a beautiful green-patterned Everblue, or what she assumed to be an Everblue, darting behind the rock looking at her.

"My name is NiUmi. Do you have a name?"
She looked up, surprised. "Miyako," the Everblue stated warily, eyeing the spines and moving a few inches backwards.

"Miyako? That's a pretty name. Would you like to play with me?" NiUmi whipped her tail around and playfully hit Miyako. "Tag! You're it!" NiUmi sped off towards the coral. She was so excited to have a new friend.
"Tag?" Miyako thought as she watched NiUmi swim away. Being young and not much of a game player, the Everblue didn't know what to think. "I'm it?" She thought over this and possible things she might have done to scare the other serpent away that quickly.

NiUmi darted in and out of the coral without looking to see if Miyako was behind her. She had played this game with other coraleaters several times, and they were all very, very fast. If everblues were anything like coraleaters, this everblue should be fast, too. But, after a couple of minutes, she noticed she had not been caught. She also realized that she had not heard any swishing behind her, either. Could everblues be that quiet when they swim? What a formidable opponent that would be!

But, alas, when NiUmi finally poked her head out of the coral she noticed Miyako hovering where she had first met her. NiUmi swam over to her, wondering why she wasn't playing. Did Miyako not like her?

"Miyako, why aren't you chasing me?"
"Was I supposed to?" She asked, raising one eyebrow and looking at the brightly colored spines again. 'Was this some sort of Coraleater ritual? To swim away and wait for the other to go after them?' The everblue thought to herself. Now she was just confused.

"Well..." NiUmi was so confused. She had seen smaller fish species chasing each other around, also, like she did with her friends, but maybe the everblues didn't play this game. Poor things.

"Well, it's a really fun game. There's no importance to it. Somebody starts out as it and chases the others around and they try to touch the other players. If they touch one, that player is it and they chase the others around. That's basically it." It was simple. Surely this everblue could understand this. "So, you want to play? Or do you have another game we could play?"
"So.. you're trying to say.. That you chase others around for fun?" Miyako swam in a few circles. "So if I was to.. do this, I'd win?" Swimming towards the Coraleater, Miyako tagged the other's tail with her own and sped off.

"Hmm... somehow, I feel tricked." Either this everblue was denser than she looked our she was very, very sneaky. NiUmi didn't care either way at this point. She got Miyako to play, and NiUmi planned to have fun.

"Hey, wait!" NiUmi sped off after Miyako. This Everblue was fast. NiUmi had almost caught up with her.
