Welcome to the S&M Charity! This is the THIRD thread that was created due to Gaia's eating capabilities. The 2nd thread was here. The 2nd thread died due to Gaia eating the first page. The 1st thread was HERE. Please feel free to bump us as we are out to help questers and always feel free to come by for a chat or two. We're not a new charity; we've been around since November 2004 and still going strong!

    @ When you read the front page of this charity, you will know how to get a donation from the charity.

    @ Follow the Gaian ToS! -Terms of Service-

    @ On the charity application where it says oogly boogly, put your favorite food. If this is not in your application, it won't get processed and you'll have to try again next month.

^//____A P P L I C A T I O N Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S

The charity used to have a very strict list of things required from questers. Now the charity has one person running it instead of two people and she has less time so the charity is officially changing the qualifications to apply.

NOTE: Each @ is a qualification you must meet. READ CAREFULLY!

    @ Check the waiting list for the month to see if there is room for you.

    @ You must have a quest thread that's located in the charity/quests forum. The quest thread must be at least 1 week old and must have at least 10 pages to it.

    @ You must have at least 500 posts in your ENTIRE time in Gaia. If you don't know, look in your profile and it will tell you how many posts you have.

    @ Due to the Gaian economy, supplying donations to questors have been difficult. Many quests that are often difficult and have sought after items such as the devil tail, angelic minis, etc. are now even more difficult to snag. Often times people apply here and they have 10k for 500k quests. How do we know you are committed to your quest and will complete it? One of the few ways is to financially prove it to us.

    For 2003 Letter Items & Halloween/Easter Events: If you have a quest that contains an item from the 2003 year, you must have 35% of the quest saved up already.

    For 2004 Letter Items & Halloween Events: You must have 30% of your quest saved up.

    For 2005 Letter Items: You must have 25% of your quest saved up.

    For 2006 Letter Items: You must have 20% of your quest saved up.

    For 2007 Letter Items: You must have 15% of your quest saved up.

    For 2008 Letter Items: You must have 10% of your quest saved up.

    For Event Items like Pink Box Items, Blue Box, Etc: You must have 10% of your quest saved up.

    For Store/Cash Shop Items and Other Unspecified Event Items: You must have 5% of your quest saved up.

    Here's the conversion chart to calculate your costs:
    .05 x Store/Cash Shop Item = Least Amount You Need
    .10 x Pink Box Item, Blue Box Item, Enchanted Trunk Item, Etc. = Least Amount You Need
    .10 x 2008 Letter Item = Least Amount You Need
    .15 x 2007 Letter Item = Least Amount You Need
    .20 x 2006 Letter Item = Least Amount You Need
    .25 x 2005 Letter Item = Least Amount You Need
    .30 x For 2004 Letter Items & Halloween Events = Least Amount You Need
    .35 x For 2003 Letter Items & Halloween/Easter Events = Least Amount You Need

    @ If you have all this, you may go ahead and apply for a donation! If all goes well, you'll be placed on the waiting list while we check out our inventory for a donation to you.

    We will try our best to answer all questions relating to the charity in this post. If not, then directly post onto this thread if your question was not answered in this post.

    Q] What happened to the 3 day bump qualification?
    A] Sakakichan is busy IRL so she has less time and gold to donate so this is a better way of donating.

    Q] Would you donate to folks who are questing for a non-clothes Gaian related item such as artwork, pets, etc?
    A] Yes we do! As long as it's affiliated with Gaia, we can donate to you as long as you qualify for our application.

    Q] I don't know how to calculate how much I have in a quest to see if I have like 25%/20%/15%/10%, etc. for a quest. HELP!
    A] First, get a calculator. For example, let's say you're trying to get fairy wings from the stores. Since it's a store item, you need at least 5% out of 40,000g. Type in .05 and multiply it by 40000. You should get 2,000 as your answer. You need at least 2,000g out of 40,000g to apply to us. Please refer to the qualification post for the rest of the percentages.

    Q] Your application is weird. Do I have to answer it all?
    A] Yes, it's weird because it's supposed to be that way.

    Q] Ahh! My application got declined! What do I do?!
    A] Well, if you wanna know why, just ask in this thread and we'll answer to you. Afterwards, you'll have to try again next month.

    Q] How long does it take for you to give out donations?
    A] Typically within a week.

    Q] How much do you donate per person?
    A] We donate according to your quest. We have donated at least 300g to up to 2,000g to folks so it varies; also, we use items.

    Q] What do I do after I do all those funky things you want me to do for a donation?
    A] Post the completed application in THIS thread. Do not repeat the post of the application, Sakakichan will only need to see it once and thread regulars may beat you if you post more than once.

    Q] You don't donate enough!
    A] We're a charity and we honestly don't want to donate to those who aren't willing to be dedicated to their quest. If you don't like it then go to another charity. This is our gold that we've earned on our own and you're going through the motions to prove to us that you deserve a donation.

    Q] Etoile_Noir? Who is she? Is she around?
    A] She used to be the co-owner of this charity and retired from Gaia. She has come back to Gaia, however, she is unable to maintain a steady presence so she is on and off.

    Q] You have nice thingsss!! Can I have like a gothic veil? Can I have someding pleeezzz thankyou so much omfgzzz ur soo cool!
    A] No.

    How did this charity come about?

    Etoile_Noir and I were PMing each other like mad one day and we were chatting about how our items in the vend weren't selling. She had a Ghosty that didn't even get 1 gold bid on while I had the only Fatty in the entire vend being sold. Don't ask how I had the Fatty, I just did. xD We were going mad and we were wondering what we were going to do with these items that we couldn't stand to have in the vend all this time! Then it hit us.

    BLAM!

    It was ingenious at first PM. We decided to have this charity and we didn't look back since. Okay, we did look back a lot >.> <.< but it was only because we were concerned about how to go about this charity. We hope to grant donations to those we deem as worthy to completing quests and that we manage to balance our charity funds as well! Please keep in mind that we are human and that we do have lives outside of Gaia (even though we wouldn't admit it =3 ). We hope you enjoy your stay here and that you come back for some chit chats 'n stuff.

    So you may be wondering, why is this called the Sushi and Muffins Charity? Welps, like our charity idea, Etoile_Noir and I were PMing each other about charity name ideas. At first we thought, "Hmmm, we need a cool name. A name that no one dared to venture towards!" I suggested something about food and mentioned ramen. But then we realized ramen is kind of hard to draw and we weren't sure what to do with ramen 'cuz it's pretty common. ToT

    Then I suggested, what about sushi? Etoile_Noir replied with that's fabulous!! She added muffins and I said that's great!! Erps, so that's how we got the Sushi & Muffins Charity name going on for us. Of course there's some innuendo in the shortened version of our name [S&M], but it's for a good cause!

    Info: Known for her feeding skillz, you will most likely find Sakaki feeding people/animals and discussing new ways to get cheap awesome deals. She's in the foreground of the charity and does charity administration duties when she's not freaking out about work/college.
