Latest GUST Projects

NIS America will be publishing GUST's Atelier Annie for the Nintendo DS. The game will be coming to North America this fall.
I'm pretty excited to finally be getting an Atelier game for the DS, but it seems like Annie is going to be a bit different from previous Atelier games.

GUST is currently working on releasing Atelier Rorona for the Playstation 3 console.

Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana Character Bios by Erlyn:

User Image Klein Kiesling

Klein is the main character of the game. He is from a place called Gazestein located west of the Esviore region. Klein ? s grandmother Daphne was a famous alchemist who taught Klein the basics of alchemy. After she passed away, Klein sets out on a journey with his Mana friend Popo. At the city of Kavoc, Klein meets Lita and the two embarks on a journey towards Avenberry: the city in the sky.

Klein is a shy person that does not openly show his emotions, but he slowly begins to overcome his shyness as he travels with Lita.

User Image Lita Blanchimont

Lita is the heroine of Atelier Iris. She works as a Galgazit monster hunter at the city of Kavoc and she is slowly becoming famous for her work. People around her respect her for her super human abilities. Bright, cheerful, and happy Lita acts with full of energy around people, but sometimes she shows a sign of sadness in her. Often times she can be seen at places with lively atmosphere.During her work as a Galgazit, Lita rescues Klein from a life-threatening incident. Having an interest in the young alchemist, Lita offers Klein to work as a Galgazit like her-self.

Lita is the key figure to this story and she has a secret that she cannot tell others.

User ImageArlin

Arlin is a powerful knight that recently arrived to the city of Kavoc. He is staying at Kavoc, but he has no intention of working as a Galgazit. Arlin quickly becomes famous at Kavoc, thanks to his looks and skills as a swordsman, but much about him remains a mystery. Arlin will appear before the main character who is heading for Avenberry time to time and eventually work together. Like the main character, his goal seems to be Avenberry, but no body knows why he is heading there.

Arlin is a capable knight who can make calm decisions at critical moments. He will eventually become a trusted figure in your team.

User ImageDelsus

Delsus is an above average Galgazit working at the city of Kavoc. Usually he can be found at the local bar. Delsus works for normal Galgazit jobs and for back door deals. He has a mysterious partner that no one has met before, called Pilke. Although Delsus is aiming for the treasures of Avenberry, he is in no hurry. He is waiting patiently for the right opportunity to arrive.
Because Delsus knew Lita, he ends up traveling with Klein. Delsus may seem shallow, but when the situation calls for him, he can be quite dependable.

User ImageMarietta Lixiss

Marietta is a former knight of Alkavana who returned from her training journey upon hearing bad rumors. When she returned to Kavoc, she witnessed the Knights of Alkavana that has taken a turn for the worst. The honorable Knights of Alkavana no longer existed and her brother who is a member knight, lost his sense of justice and honor that he once had. Marietta has a very faithful and honest personality. She is a true hero, who hates wrong doings as will as those who are waggish. Downside to her: she cannot do any tedious or detailed work.

User ImageNorn

Norn is a young little girl working for the great wizard Zeldalia. She has cute cat ears and a tail, but her humanoid race and birth remains a mystery. To Zeldalia, Norn is like a daughter. Under Zeldalia´s command, Norn attempts to steal Klein ´ s valuable book, which Klein received it from his grandmother. Norn is capable of using simple alchemy skills taught by Zeldalia, but her skills are far from perfect. To become an alchemist like Klein, she requires much more training.

Norn loses strength when she is patted on the back of her ears.

User ImagePamela

Pamela is a very relaxed ghost that does not think about anything. She is witnessed quite often around Vaskawood ´ s forest. Since her actions and looks do not resemble any of that of a ghost, no body believes that she is one. She is a little disappointed to the fact that no body is afraid of her, despite being a ghost.
Pamela does not know why or when she died. She travels around the world in search of her body that she believes still exists. The problem for her search is that she tends to wonder off and play with children. There for it will take forever to find her body even if it does exist.

was going to pick it up, but then got mesmerized by the Battlefield 2 demo. Will probably pick it up in early August. Then some time later this year I must get Baten Kaitos for the Gamecube.
Nope I thought about it but I'm getting Rivera and Makai Kingdom
If you're an RPG fan, you should definitely pick up Atelier Iris, and you may want to do so soon. 3nodding
I got it the day it was released, and I just barely managed to get the second last copy at EB.

EB is too popular I go to Game Stop they've got little bit less than EB but the game is usaully is in stock.
Yeah, this is a great game. I love the old school graphics.

I like Delsus too. He's voiced by Crispin Freeman, so you can't go wrong.

There's no Game Stop in my town, so I usually go to EB or one of the smaller local stores, but the good games don't stay long.

I picked up Riviera the same day as Atelier, but I haven't gotten around to play it yet. blaugh
I've only been playing Atelier Iris lately.

But I can't wait for Makai Kingdom.
In Japan, if you preordered the game, you got a special art book. surprised
I'm hoping they do something similar for the North American release.

xd
Heh! Totally.
The game is great.

Kind of like Secret of Mana meets Star Ocean.
That's what my first impressions were playing the game, anyway. 3nodding
Bump! 3nodding
Atelier Iris is AMAZING. Why? It feels like a classic RPG with modern complex systems. The alchemy system works so well. The graphics are nostalgic and the voice acting is surprisingly good. The music is amazing. ANY TRUE RPGer MUST OWN THIS GAME!
I'm hooked on this game...my fav. character is Norn, she's so ADOWABLE!!! And she can also turn enemies into candy, which can be a plus^^

I'm also addicted on the synthesis system in some of the stores as well^^

Good call, man. 3nodding

@Kaky-Lee: Really? I found Norn to be really annoying. blaugh
Sorry, but I did. Maybe it's just the voice actor.
Most of the english voice cast is really good, in fact, I prefer the english cast to the Japanese one. 3nodding

I really enjoy the store synthesis system as well. ^___^
Collecting all the right ingredients and coming up with a new item for the menu is so rewarding.
I put Atelier Iris on the back burner for Shining Force III: Scenario 3. Because, frankly, I'm a Shining fanatic. But, anyway. I got about 14 hours into the game, and I heading off after getting the two mirrors you were suppose to get. I had to go back to the mine, but that was about the point when I started Scenario 3.

I, too, have Riviera and I'm within Chapter 2, but not too far.

With my hectic schedule due to summer school, I only have time to play maybe an hour of a game a day, so I pick Scenario 3 over Atelier Iris. But, this -will- be a game I do plan to beat.
Shining Force III?!
Really? What system is that for? I've been trying my damndest to find Shining Force for the GBA, but it's next to impossible now. gonk

I'm going to try and finish Atelier Iris before I even get started on Riviera.
And from what I've heard, Riviera is somewhat dissapointing as far as game play goes, but I'll wait to play it before I form my own opinion. 3nodding
Sega Saturn. Unless you're willing to shell out no less than $200 - 240, then don't bother with it. Even though it's worth it.

And, what do you expect with Shining Force for the GBA? It was published by Atlus... So, finding a copy now will be a bit of a problem, especially if you're in a small town.
