New Years Ball

This was perhaps the most important ball of the year. The New Years Ball. Only the highest of society would be mingling here, and of course all nations were invited. Roderich adjusted his cuffs. The performance tonight had to be flawless. The eyes of the sophisticated world were on him.


He surveyed the preparations; everything was ready. His eyes darted to the doors, anxiously awaiting the first guests.

*Throws open doors, entering with bold strides*

Gruezi!  

[Toris Lorinaitis]

*just sort of shuffles in through the lesser of the grand doors and lingers near the stairs* Pretty quiet so far.

*Instantly drawn toward the untouched buffet*

Oooh... O.O *Fingers itch*

o.o *glad Switz doesn't have his purse on hand*

*sits down in a plush chair and waits for more guests*

*burst through the main doors, little Gilbird following behind*

Hah! You may stop waiting now, the awesome Prussia has arrived!
;D *boasts*

Roderich sighed heavily. Some particular guests were going to be to be troublesome. He pretended not to notice Vash steer off to the buffet, and ignored Gilbert's flashy entrance to the best of his ability.


"Ah, Toris. I hope you are enjoying yourself?"

 

[II Jedem das Seine II]

Gilbert's red eyes scanned around the room he entered in; there were musicians playing with their instruments, classical music soothing to the ears, expensive chandeliers high up above everyone, the buffet with assorted foods to your taste - with that Swiss already there. His keen ears picked up the sound of a conversation starting - it was Austria's voice talking to the Lithuanian.

The Prussian turned and bent down, outstretching his palm to his bird to climb onto. Placing Gilbird on his left shoulder, he turns around once more and strides over to where the Austrian was - who was skillfully ignoring his existence. Tsk, tsk. That won't do. The albino thought to himself. He loves being the center of attention, for he does not want to be forgotten. Maybe that's why he's still around...

"Heya, Specs! You're not trying to ignore me, ja?" Gilbert slapped Roderich's back with a bit of force, using his nickname for him - Specs, a short form for the word spectacles; which the other wears most of the time.

The shy Baltic almost didn't realize he was being talked to and jumped slightly though quickly recovering his senses and stuttering out a reply to the host of this particular Ball.

"O-Oh, yes, it's very.. enjoyable. A-Are you? It looks like it was a lot of work to set up."

He raised a brow Prussia's grandiose entrance ducked just slightly behind the nation he so affectionately called 'specs'.

"Nice entrance."

[[ Hahah, I didn't know either. I just followed suit with Vash. >3> ;; Sorry I have no fancy picture.. >< ; ]]

The Prussian's gaze travelled to the sitting male, grasping his attention from the other's compliment. "Ahah, it's not my best," he replied, grinning like the Cheshire cat himself. There were times when Gilbert made extravagant plans for important festivities; either be through the entranceway or breaking in, most of them were dangerous. "But it was still daring of me, no?" Prussia smirked, a little bit narcissistic one might think.

He stood up a little trying to gain his full height, though it wasn't much, and acknowledged the Prussian. It was considered rude to speak to someone without making eye contact so he forced himself to be polite and bottled up his shyness.

"I guess those doors just beg to be thrown open, Vash did something similar. I hope the doors survive more guests."

At the slap to his back, Roderich's glasses slid down his nose. With an irritated huff he pushed them back up.


"I am glad you are enjoying yourself, Toris."


He didn't hide the tone of annoyance in his voice as he finally turned to Prussia.


"Ah. Herzlich wilkommen, Gilbert. Please do not damage any of my property. It is historical and delicate."

Lithuania gave a nod to Austria and slowly inched away in case there was going to be an argument.

"I hope you enjoy yourself too."

He wandered over to the buffet looking for something small to snack on or a drink.

The Swiss was already regretting having forgotten his 'man-bag', making sure to pile his plate with the whole assortment of food.
