Chia lay in front of the Den tired and worn, she had just returned from a long night of hunting. Her tired body breathed heavily as she rested from bringing back the meal for the night. Chia looked up and opened her eyes occasionally, but usually just kept them closed trying to rest some before her next trip.

Asil

Mood: Not complaining
Location: In a clearing

Asil trotted into a small clearing not even thinking to check his nose for anyone. He dropped his catch in the field and started munching. If no one bothered him he would have them both gulped in a matter of minutes. Asil really liked fish, he had grown up on fish and water creatures and saw no reason to hunt big animals. They tasted strange to him anyways.

Shijima lifted herself from the ground and gave a good shake, rustling her fur in the gentle breeze. Her ears perked up at her comrades began to return. She spotted Asil and welcomed him. "Brother of mine, what sea breeze bring bouty to you?"

Asil

Mood: Alert
Location: In a clearing

Asil had forgotten that he had joined a pack recently, hunters always brought back their kill for their family to eat. He looked at Chia who had just wondered into the pack today. He could smell that she had eaten but his medicine wolf had not. He then got up to bring her a fish. He didn't know if she would like fish, or if she liked land prey. However he still wanted to offer her a fish. If she didnt want it, he would go back out and catch her a rabbit. Little Fury things are every where, he thought to him self.

As he walked over he was looking her over. She seemed to be an intresting wolf. Her light blue markings around her eyes made them very attractive and draw the eye, and the markings on her paws and tail made her exotic in his eyes. She was beautiful. If she hadn't told him she was a medicine wolf he would of started courting her. In his old pack medicine wolves weren't aloud to have mates or pups, for they would loose their rank of healer because wolves felt they no longer could take care of their pack. However in his travels he had met packs that allowed it. When he asked about it, they would say mother wolf loves pups why would she not allow it? He didn't understand but he knew better than to make a wrong move.

Asil looked at Chia as she tried to sleep. Her fur was snow white and a unique contrast to his black fur. However she seemed to not even look at him as he walked by. She is either sleeping or ignoring me he thought. He still didn't know much about either female though, but he hoped he would as timed progressed he would. He then dropped the fish in front of Shijima. "Would you like to eat with me Shijima? I have two fish."

Shijima smiled warmly at the offer "You're too kind my brother, I would be honored to dine with such a prosperous hunter!" She seemed excited by the idea her smile complimented by closed eyes showing only the blue markings that surrounded them. Her tail wagged almost like their domestic brethren, making the veins in her fur shift and waver like the reflection of a gentle pool. She took a seat on her haunches next to him and despite her rank gave him a grateful nuzzle.

"Great Mother, has been good to you, Asil, let us thank her for her bounty." She gave another sweet smile before kneeling slightly. "Den Mother, you have graced us with mighty fortune and these swift swimmers have granted us their lives so that we might continue ours, We thank them for their sacrifice so that their flesh will grant us strength. Hear your child's plea O' Mother, for we, children of the River are good and honor your name, guide us down your hunting path so that we may once again rest in your bosom. May our hunters stay swift and keen, our leader fearless and strong, and may our borders expand to touch your own. Blessed is the hunt."

She spoke her words as ceremoniously but in such a way that a pup might actually talk to her child. Shijima was always very serious about the Den Mother, she showed real passion for the deity so much so that much of her pack was indeed convinced that she was a child of the great wolf. She opened her eyes, the dark enchanting orbs fixed pleased on her hunter friend. "You first, my brother, you have allowed me the honor of sharing your blessing."

Asil

Mood: Watchful
Location: In a clearing

Asil watched her as she moved. When she did her markings wavered and rippled. It reminded him of when there would be ripples in the water at night and the moon would shine on them. When he was young he wasn't allowed to go to the wolves ceremonies held beneath the full moon, so would go down to the river during that time and watch the lights dance upon the water. It would fascinate him and keep him from spying on the adults like some pups did. He would stay there for hours, which is what inspired his love for water.

He then sat down next to her while putting the fish in front of her. He smiled as she nuzzled him and then sat quietly as she spoke the prayer. He was nodding along with wiht his eyes closed listening to her voice. When she stopped and spoke to him he opened his eyes and was surprised to find her staring at him. His eyes widened for a second and then blinked back to normal size. He nodded to her bent his heads to start munching on a fish. No flirty comments were going to come out of his mouth like they usually did. He remembered the last time he made a comment of that sort to a medicine wolf. He really didn't want to test boundaries again. He still had the scar on his right eye from it.

Before taking a second bite he looked up at her and said " Careful of the bones, I got one stuck in my throat once, and it wasn't very fun."

He also remembered that experience really well. He had gulped down the fish without chewing much to break up the bones and one had gotten stuck. The medicine wolf of his old pack had to stick her paw down his throat. Good thing she had little paws he thought to him self as he well chewed a bite.

(also as for your rank and having pups it doesn't matter. I didn't make it a rule, personal choice of the medicine/healer wolf)

Placing one paw on the fish's tail and one on its head Shijima knelt and wrapped her maw around it's flesh, nodding at Asil's warning. The body made a squishing noise as her fangs pierced it but she gingerly lifted the meat from the body. She tossed her head back as she chewed allowing it to slide down her throat. She licked a bit of the fish's slime from her lips and smiled "Exquisite" She said simply. She repeated the process several times before she was picking the last bits of meat from the bones. "You caught fine treasures, Brother of the hunt. I thank you"

Asil

Mood: A at Peace
Location: In a clearing

Asil waited for her to take the first bite before he started eating his. He kind of just munched and crunched all the bones except the head and spine. he was glad that she enjoyed the fish, not all wolves did. He then decided he would bring her a fish every time she wanted one. He as hunter had to bring the food to the highest rank wolf first and right now he considered her the highest ranked in the pack.

As he finished his fish, he looked at her and said " I am glad you enjoyed it Shijima, I will always be happy to hunt for you if you are hungry, so please feel free to ask at any time you desire." He wanted to add but not while I'm sleeping, but thought better of it.

"And what a gifted hunter you are, Brother. Our mother smiles, not only on your ability and skill but on your kindness, and generosity towards the pack." She masked a smile and knelt her head once more. "And much praise and thanks to you, Good Mother, for nourishing our bodies with this hunter's gift. May his fangs be ever fierce, and may his prey never escape, Blessed is the pack." She nodded once more before raising her head she began to eye his body and fur carefully. "Let us wash our maws, Brother Asil, so that I may clean the successful hunter. You must be inspected for wounds." She lifted from her haunches and moved in the direction of the stream nearby, taking only a couple of steps before turning to Asil to ensure he followed. Most hunters found the task of being "checked" unnecessary but Shijima was adamant about the ritual as it was the only way she could immediately thank a hunter for his gift to pack. Asil had seen to her specifically and so she would see to him as well.

Asil

Mood: Oh No!
Location: In a clearing

Not a bath! Asil thought to himself. Though he loved the water he did not like cleaning himself in it, even if this Shijima was going to wash him he didn't like the idea. Yeah he might submit to a mate washing him but this wasn't fair. Because she was highest ranked though he knew he best do it without complaining. Plus medicine wolves were always listened to.

He then got up on his paws and stretched before he followed her. As he followed her he took mentally checks of his body. He didn't feel injured, there were no purana in this part of the world as far as he knew. He then said " Is this really necessary Shijima? I have not been in fights recently, and there was nothing dangerous in the lake."

"The most dangerous threats in the forest are the ones that barely leave a mark, My Brother, I insist that you be searched thoroughly" She didn't turn to him as to better hide her smile as her front two paws hit the stream. Her eyes narrowed until they closed from the gentle rush of the current, filling her with a cool sensation that reminded her why she followed the Water Pack as a pup. "Join me, Brother Asil and be cleansed" This time she showed him her warm smile now that they were away from the rest of the pack.

Asil

Mood: Curious
Location: In a stream

Asil followed Shijima slowly into the stream that was a hundred tail lengths away from the camp clearing. As he followed her he kept growling inwardly at the thought of a bath and being checked. Then a thought accrued to him, Im alone with a she wolf in the element I love and I am gripping about getting a bath? What happened to my 'Lets hit on every she wolf mentality' normally I would take this chance to do some courting..... though most of the time I was rejected or their soon to be mate attacked me.

He was so into his thoughts he almost didn't see her smile at him as he walked into the stream. A puzzled look crossed his face and was gone the next second. He then thought, Naw she cant really be into me I'm just crazy, and she is a medicine wolf doing her job. As he walked up to her, he said " So um... I have never been cleansed before, I usually got out of it in my old pack.... Soooo how does this work exactly?"

Shijima ushered the hunter into the stream to where they were both were a foot or so in the cool stream. She wordlessly circled him tightly as if he were the prey but she eyed him with great focus. The circle tightened until she was upon him running her muzzle through his fur looking him over carefully. She lifted a wet paw and dropped it heartily on the hunter's shoulder, wetting the fur. She followed the trickle of water down his shoulder till it dripped into the stream, lace with red. "Just as I suspected" she said finally. "It's only minor, perhaps a scrape from a thorn or something of the sort." The truth is she had known the scrape's presence from the beginning as Asil was missing just a bit of fur upon his shoulder. This minor wound was hardly calling for an entire cleanse but it justified Shijima's wanting to get the hunter alone. She waded to the bank and plucked an plant from the bank and chewed it furiously as she waded back. She spat the chew pulp from her maw and ran her tongue over the wound. Initial contact with the herb would have burned but would quickly be replaced by a cooling sensation. After the scrape had be successfully cleaned she didn't stop. The shaman continued to groom the hunter, paying special attention to neck and around his ears. She moved slowly as if waiting for him to respond. Shijima was aggressive for a female but she was also clever, and very cautious. I was possible that it could be the stream playing tricks on the hunter but he might have thought he heard her say "My thanks to you" in his ear
