I thought it was pretty normal for high schoolers to dissect frogs and cats and whatnot, though. My sisters did cats, too. They were even required to make an art project out of the cat's bones.

Also, did you guys know that on April 2nd, across various UC campuses, there was a free porn showing (apparently a popular Pirates of the Caribbean knock-off)? I don't remember what it was for, but I think it had to do with embracing human sexuality and promoting porn as a healthy way to live out sexual fantasies. Heard the event was packed full, too.

Wait, embracing sexuality by showing a porn movie? Over here there is a strong lobby against the pornification of society because it depicts women as lust objects and sex as something every man and woman should want at any time and that not wanting to have sex with someone is an undesirable trait.

I also don't get why you'd need a national porn day anyway, are you gonna tell me porn is unpopular? razz Event should be hosted on 6/9, by the way.

I never did much with biology, but why would they make you do art projects with the remains of other animals? That's just needlessly weird and hasn't been edgy for over half a century.

On the subject of porn:

I'm so sick of people suggesting it to me as a way to pass the time when I say I'm bored. Are they trying to be funny or is it really the only thing they can think to do when boredom hits?

I'm not really a sexual person in general (though I do make a lot of dirty jokes, that doesn't mean I'm actually all that interested in sex), and the only time I've ever watched porn was to laugh at it when I was much younger and immature. "HAHA EWWW PEOPLE ARE HAVING SEX!"

I mean, it's cool and all if other people watch porn. Whatev. But suggesting it to me as boredom relief a million and one times after I've already said "I'm not interested" is just annoying.

It wasn't a "national porn day," just a few University of California campuses decided to show a porno in public.

Don't get me wrong, I've been known to get upset over objectified women. If you surf back a few pages in the UFG you'll probably find a thread or two of mine. But I'm so sick of the double-edged sword. On one hand, you have pornography - women turned into lust objects, a desirable yet impossible standard for normal girls. And then on the OTHER hand, you have people who constantly try to inhibit female sexuality, empowering themselves by telling other women to cover up. Mr. Boy likes going to strip clubs, yet Mr. Boy gets mad when his girlfriend turns out to be one of the strippers.

I believe it comes down to a woman's right to her body. If she wants to strut her junk to an eager crowd, that's cool. I have friends who are pin-up models and I totally respect that, because it's something they chose to do. To be honest, I kind of appreciate the honesty of porno, given that the participants are happy and willing... What makes me mad is porn that tries to pass itself off as something else - as nude "art," as the gorgeous exotic side character with no personality in an action movie, as the boobs that accidentally pop out for comedic value in a stoner flick, as the irrationally huge gazongas and short skirts and panty shots with anime characters.

Waltz: Omg! I think my friends saw that! Not because they knew it was a porn but because it had pirates on it and thought it'd be interesting! They said it was so corny and they fast forward through the raunchy parts. XDD (Not on UC campuses...they rented it from a video store).

And it didn't sound like wafflez liked the porn anyway. But it was TMI for me.
