Hey sanisani, gotta ask... If Kai uses Bone Shield on your Static Shock, would the paralysis effect still get through? Her bone shield is reinforced with magic and not just bone by the way.

Also, sanisani, you don't need to minus off an additional 3HP due to the life link scroll. That was taken from the weapon damage Kai did to you earlier.

I think bone is not impermeable to electricity. Usually, in a biologic body, electricity would take the route with the least resistance and go through the body's liquid/interstitial fluid. However, being a bad conductor doesn't mean it won't conduct at all. I believe Bone can due to the fact that it is very porous so has air bubbles in it and air can conduct electricity.
I think that to truly be completely protected from electricity you need to be wrapped completely in a very good insulators. Heck, scientists have managed to make rubber that conducts electricity and it is said that should the voltage by high enough or be persistent enough, electricity can burn through rubber.
I don't think Kai should be affected if she completely blocks the attack with her shield. It would sort of imply that she did not get hurt at all by the current/it didn't reach her.

It auto hit Kai's shield. To get to her, you needed to break her shield by depleting its HP to 0. The residual damage would then hit Kai.

Kai's shield protects her from 7 damage, but Jasper's static shock does 8 damage. Guess I'll have to roll to see if I'm paralysed after all?

Hmm That does make sense so I'll agree with Moonlight on this. Would this mean that all spells cast except healing/attack ones will only take effect 1 post after its been cast?

Alrighty then, Kai got hit with the full force of everyone's attacks, and is now paralysed for one turn. Kai is now unable to retaliate for one turn, but I reserve the right to heal. Her Rapid Heal is an act of focus to trigger high speed regeneration, which doesn't require external action at all, so I think she should be allowed to heal.
(That, and the fact that with three people whaling on Kai at once, she seriously needs to heal to survive)
