Elizabeta wondered if she should have spoken to China a bit more formally. Perhaps...well, if it was a habit for him, perhaps he had expected to be called 'Mister'. But, she really did dislike formalities. It was probably due to her barbaric past. She hadn't been part of the nicest tribe, which was a kind way to speak of the atrocities her people had committed.

Shaking her head free from the thoughts of the past, she gave the Asian a soft smile. A favour? She wondered what he wanted, especially from her. What had she that he couldn't go to someone he was more familiar with? And, why was it so hard for him to ask?

She blinked at the request for make up. It was an odd one, she had to admit. She blinked, then gave a loose shrug. She began digging into her purse, pausing when she noticed a light on her phone. She clicked a button, unlocking it. A text. She quickly scanned the contents, pondering over it. So she was stuck in London, hm? Interesting.

Fingers closing around her spare case of foundation, she pulled it out and offered it to him. "It's a spare. I don't need it back. I...well, I need to get to a hotel. Apparently, we're stuck in London because of the storm," she explained, deciding not to question just why he wanted it. He seemed already so awkward. And Gilbert claimed she couldn't be nice. Hah!

((D'aww, Gilbert <3))

Now this was confusing. One moment, Gilbert was furious with him, the next, wanting him to stay... Putting it down to the effects of the medication, Roderich stopped in his tracks. Glancing down at the grip that the albino had on his clothing, he attempted to swallow down the pain he felt... Though it didn't stop the steady flow of tears. It'd seemed that he'd been repressing himself too long; once he'd started, they just wouldn't stop. Years of anguish, the times he had been hurt... But he'd not cry. He'd not succumb to it...

And now he'd caved in. Rubbing his eyes again roughly on the sleeve of his shirt, he couldn't help but let out a soft whimper. 'God damnit all.. All these years and now it happens...? It couldn't have been in private... No, no, it had to be in front of him. Him... The very man who's always, always used my weaknesses to his advantage.' He cursed himself yet again.

Though Gilbert had uttered a very soft apology. That was something... Something that assured the aristocrat that this time, it wouldn't be the same as before. Roderich didn't want to fight anymore. He really didn't.

'No... I-I.. I should be th-the one to apologise.' He kept his gaze away from the albino, not wanting him to see the tears. He could guess that Gilbert knew that he was crying, but it still didn't make it any easier to do it around him.

Settling down on the floor opposite Gilbert -it was too risky to sit beside him, with this sort of bipolar nature- Roderich sniffled a little. 'I'll stay... If you really want me t-to.'

----------

'O-oh! Thank you, aru.' Yao took the offending item with a warm, gracious smile, clutching it rather protectively. It occurred to him a few moments later that he should need to hide it, so he slipped it into his pocket. He'd show it to Ivan later, but right now he needed to thank the kindly nation for her help and willingness to be discreet. 'So we're all stuck here...? Hm. It's odd that my leaders haven't told me yet. Ah well... I suppose I should be expecting a phonecall or something, aru.'

'If there's anything I could do for you in the future, don't hesitate to ask, Hungary, aru.' He chirped, taking the nation's mentioning of the need to find a hotel as a polite dismissal. 'And... Call me Yao. Thanks again...!'

And with that final outburst of thankfulness, Yao skittered into the hallway with a large smile on his face. He'd have loved to chat with her more, but he had a friend to aid.

'Well, that wasn't as bad as I expected it to be...' He supposed if he was a larger, more burly-looking nation, then she would've found it much weirder.. Perhaps looking feminine had its advantages after all.

'I'm back, Ivan.' Yao greeted cheerily as he walked through the bathroom door, sticking his hand in his pocket. 'And I've found a way to hide your mark, look...' Lowering his voice in order to keep this a secret, Yao fished in his pocket for the foundation and produced it, holding it out so Ivan could see. 'See here, aru? Would you like me to help?'

{Bah.. I'm finally going to join my posts together >.>}

Silent, Gilbert kept a tight hold on the Austrian's pant leg. He didn't know how to voice his own thoughts. It felt so sickening, not being able to say what he wanted. He always used to be. Why was this so God damned difficult to deal with? Why?

He didn't know what he could say or do to get Roderich to stop crying. He didn't want to be the reason why he cried. It...it meant that he was hurting him, way more than he ever thought he had been in the past century. After they stopped fighting on different sides.

He made a soft sound of protest when the Austrian turned away, the clothing slipping through his fingers. He stared at the man, relieved when he sat down in front of him.

"I...um..." He still didn't know what to do. So, he did what he would do when Ludwig was troubled. He moved over to Roderich and hesitantly sat beside him, wrapping somewhat shaky arms around his shoulders in a hug. It was the first time he made any effort to make physical contact with him. A blush marred his cheeks slightly as he stared down at his lap.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ivan blinked, glancing up when the washroom door opened. He smiled lightly at Yao, trying to hide the slight discomfort the punch the Lithuanian had given him caused. His jaw was sore, now, but he'd rather not worry the Asian about it. It was only due to his lessening power that it even hurt.
"Ah..." So, Yao had realized that make up was the best way, as well. Somewhat curious as to wear or from who the Asian got it, he kept his thoughts to himself. "Not know how to..." he mumbled, feeling a bit embarrassed about the entire situation.
(Joined the dark side, have you~? >=D)
Roderich blinked, finding his thoughts interrupted by a sudden warmth around his shoulders. Noticing that it was Gilbert, he made a soft noise of confusion, but decided not to complain. It was touching that the albino was trying to cheer him up... Despite the fact that he was uncomfortable.The aristocrat could tell. It wasn't too difficult to assume, anyway.
That only made the sentiment much sweeter.
However, a calamity came to mind; how was he meant to react to this? Did he hug back? Was that allowed? Or did he merely sit and not react? Would that offend? Or perhaps he was overthinking the whole situation. He needed to calm down... And stop crying. This was awkward enough as it was for the albino, he guessed, and to have him blubbering like an over-emotional woman would be too much.
Deciding finally, he reached to hug Gilbert back, knowing that his hands were probably feared by the ex-nation by now. His hold was loose, tentative, just in case he was going too far- if Gilbert wanted to pull away, it would be more than possible.
Swallowing, he mumbled another soft apology as he found himself comforted rather easily by this new situation. His tears had stopped, at least... And his trembles were minor, if not gone completely.
-------------
'I... I didn't think you would. Uhm...' Yao blinked down at the make-up he held, realising that he didn't know much about it either. He'd not had to ever learn, after all. 'We can try, at least...! I'm sure it's not that hard, aru. I bet I can do it for you if you're still...' He opened it, before testing a little on his own hand... It seemed to be easy enough after a few moments, but that was on his own, unmarred skin. As to whether it could cover up a mark like this, Yao didn't know... But they could try.
'Uhm... I'm not t-tall enough to see, aru. Could you... Uh... Sit down or something... So I can...?' Trailing off, he waved the foundation a little as a hint. 'I'll do it for you, aru, okay? Then you can blame me for the mess, aru.'
Gilbert felt really awkward, sitting on the floor while hugging the crying Austrian. It was just so awkward. Especially since he had only done this with two people in his life; Ludwig, and Old Fritz. It just seemed, well, wrong to being hugging his former enemy; his...well, his rival, he supposed. He never understood why he had to try to show up the Austrian all the time, but there was no denying that he did.
He jolted slightly when Roderich hugged him back slightly. He bit his lip, trying to force himself to relax. There was no use to it, though. He just felt so awkward. He was tense, he knew.
With a soft groan, he rested his head on Roderich's shoulder, trying to clear his mind. He didn't know what he was doing anymore. The medication was muddying everything up in his head until he didn't know what he would normally do in this situation, and what the medication was causing him to do. His face felt warm. He was most likely blushing. He had been doing that so often, today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A light blush staining his pale cheeks, the Russian suddenly wished that his oldest sister was here. She would know what to do, he knew. But... she would probably start crying about him getting hurt before she could actually help. And, well, that was if she was actually allowed near him. It was odd, actually. After so long of being independent, he wanted his sister to protect him again. Especially considering that she was now forced to avoid him. It carried a bit of irony, actually.

He moved a bit so he was sitting on the floor, his back against the wall. This felt awkward. He wished he could have just ignored the mark and went to Natalia. But, no. He couldn't. She'd be guilty. He couldn't do that.

He hated being stuck in these type of situations when he actually knew what was going on.

The Austrian didn't know what to do now. He could feel that Gilbert was tense, and didn't want to force him to continue this embrace if it was that unsettling for him. However, he had to admit to himself that he did like the comfort it offered. It was a dilemma and a half, certainly... He curled up a little beside the ex-nation, mumbling a quiet 'thank you' in regards to this situation. It was nice... And it did do the trick, it seemed.

Closing his eyes, the aristocrat willed away his negativity. He didn't want to be rudely reminded by his overly-sharp mind that Gilbert and he were meant to be rivals... Why they were meant to be, he didn't know. It'd been going on for as long as he could remember, even in childhood, Gilbert had pestered him... But back then, Roderich had a friend in Switzerland. Now... They barely spoke. He didn't really have friends now... And those who wished to be close to him, like Elizabeta, were pushed away... Like he'd done today.

He had to stop doing that... Before he was left with absolutely nothing.

Shifting slightly -the seat on the floor was uncomfortable-, Roderich opened his eyes to glance at Gilbert. Or what he could see of the man. parting his lips to speak, he let the words die on his tongue.

If he were to talk... It'd probably ruin everything.

--------

'Trust me, aru.' Yao murmured as he approached, gazing down at his friend with half-lidded eyes. His smile was sweet despite this, however... After all, he was meant to be attempting to assure Ivan, not make him worry. Yao was inexperienced in this, there was no denying that, but he'd try, at least.

Reaching in order to tilt Ivan's face accordingly, he hummed softly to himself. 'That's it... There's enough light now.' He mused, before beginning to apply the makeup with a gentle, almost feather-light touch.

'Tell me if I hurt you.' The Asian didn't know how much the mark hurt, as any sort of pressure on a mark like this could potentially be painful. He certainly didn't want to inflict pain on the Russian, no.

It was just like painting. Well, it was what Yao told himself... He was very fond of drawing... Well, all forms of art. And if he could see this in that sort of perspective, it'd make this much easier...

After a few moments, Yao stood back to admire his work with a little tilt to his head.

'Not bad... I don't see why the foundation went green, though, aru.' He teased. It looked fine... It was almost as if there hadn't been a punch thrown at all. He couldn't help but feel just a little proud of that, despite always wanting to be modest about his own work... He was happy that he'd been able to help.

The albino felt really uncomfortable. The floor was hard, especially now that he didn't have anything to brace his back against. It was such an irritating feeling. He wanted to get rid of it, but...he just knew he should comfort Roderich. After all, he was his host and all Gilbert had been doing was causing him grief. He should at least try to make him feel better, right?

He didn't know what he was supposed to do. He doubted that he would act like this if he was healthy and not under the influence of medication. He knew he acted weird when ill. He was more needy for attention, always wanting to be close to someone. He tended to be a bit timid, old fears coming to haunt him all the time...like the nightmare from earlier. He also had very random mood swings that could happen at the drop of a hat.

It was quite troublesome, really. He... what should he do? He was starting to think that he wasn't hugging the Austrian to hand out comfort, but rather, he was the one taking comfort.

He made another soft groan, not understanding anything.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It felt awkward, having the Asian leaning over him and applying the make up. It was a rather odd feeling, born from an even odder situation. His face was dusted with a light pink as Yao carefully applied the foundation.
It stung a bit when he covered the mark. Even the slight amount of pressure was irritable against his sore jaw. Why did he allow Toris to punch him in the first place? He should have just...well, he should have at least moved out of the way. He had, after all, expected some form of aggression from the severely irritated Lithuanian.
He was relieved when it was done. However, at Yao's words, he blinked and glanced up. "Green?" he repeated, feeling a sense of unease.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 14, 2010 2:25 am
Yao looked at Ivan with a serious nod. 'Mhm, green... Tch... Heh... Hahahahaha!' But, as was like the Asian, Yao couldn't keep up the act for long and fell into a fit of laughter. 'Oh, Ivan... aru, I'm s-sorry. It's not green, it looks fine.' He gasped between giggles, wiping his eyes. 'Don't worry, seriously. Here.' He helped Ivan up, turning him towards the mirrors above the sinks with a smile. 'See? Not a mark in sight, aru.'
He couldn't help but tease. This was just too surreal for him to try and take it very seriously; despite the fact that yes, having witnessed Ivan being bullied was awful. However, he couldn't dwell on it, the Russian had asked him not to. So... It was best to try and keep peppy and entertaining, alike to a backflipping dog.
'I don't know what to do with this now, though.' He mumbled thoughtfully as he gazed down at the makeup. 'I'm not going to ever use it, but Hungary said she didn't need it returned, aru...'
----------
As nice as this was, the Austrian figured that he'd have to consider Gilbert's feelings before his own. That was what a good host did, he recalled, and so that had to apply here too, no matter who the guest was. And this particular guest disliked physical contact with him, so that meant that he would have to let him go.
Not that he wanted to. He was content to sit here for as long as possible, feeding from the albino's heightened warmth like a pest. His face warmed as he nuzzled into Gilbert, his hold tightening briefly. 'Don't wanna..' His inner voice was childish and slightly slurred due to the comfort. He didn't see an easy way to continue this, however... Gilbert would soon clue into the fact that he was being clingy, and that would imply a dependency. That would probably cause the same sort of reaction from the ex--nation as before, and that was something that the aristocrat was afraid of.
Letting out a soft sigh, he dropped his arms from around the albino, shifting away only slightly to let Gilbert know that it was fine to let go. He'd heard the groan, and took it as a hint that Gilbert was uncomfortable.
Nothing meant more to him than that.
Watching the Asian erupt into giggles, Ivan didn't exactly know what to do. He just wasn't used to this type of humor. He didn't understand it, really. It was so different from Russian humor. Then again, his own humor was a type that was rather dark. Not many people understood his humor.
He allowed himself to be helped up. He was silent as he was led to one of the mirrors. He glanced at his reflection, noting that the mark was now completely gone, hidden under the make up. The best thing, however, was that the foundation looked natural. Unless one went really close to his face, they wouldn't know.
"Spasiba*," he murmured, glancing over to Yao with a smile gracing his lips.
*Thank you.*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gilbert resisted the urge to make a sound of protest when the Austrian dropped his arms and pulled away slightly. The only thing that kept the sound in was his pride, he knew. Roderich most likely had caught on to his aversion of being touched, much to his displeasure. If he kept hugging the man, it would become suspicious.

Instead, he dropped his arms himself and got to his feet, stretching slightly. His face was marred with a blush, so he turned away a bit.

Not knowing what to do in a situation that was becoming increasingly awkward, he ducked his head a bit and mumbled, "I'm gonna go lie down on the couch..."

As he fled into the living room, the Prussian focused his attention on easing the blush from his cheeks. As he laid down on the couch, he bit his lip slightly as the pink didn't really fade.

PostPosted: Mon Nov 15, 2010 9:19 am

Well. That had been awkward... Roderich blinked as Gilbert left, not making any noise to prevent him from doing such. He supposed that it had been a little too much for Gilbert, and so preferred to let the ex-nation go, despite his want to continue the hug. After all, the albino was sick and needed to rest rather than to comfort him.

Letting out a sigh of a strange sort of contentment, Roderich stood, brushing the imaginary dust from his clothing with a small smile on his face. Living with Gilbert for this brief period was going to be interesting, he supposed... It was best to think of it that way rather than to get upset by the mood swings.

He busied himself for a few moments, washing out the German's cup whilst softly humming to himself. He put those horridly embarrassing photographs away, too. After such, he followed Gilbert into the living room, fetching the dusty copy of Jaws from the shelf. Notedly, he carried the box with the front cover facing away from himself, not wanting to look at it- the idea of that giant shark hidden just below the oblivious swimmer was... Horrid.

Slipping the disc into the DVD player, Roderich wordlessly settled himself by the sofa, deciding to sit on a cushion that he'd taken from the armchair on his way there.

Something in his head told him that this was a bad, bad idea, though he pressed the 'PLAY' button with no hesitation.

-----------

'It's fine, aru.' Yao smiled warmly, happy to recieve a genuine smile from his friend for once in a while. He couldn't help but always feel slightly saddened whenever Ivan's smile was feigned -he'd learned the difference now after all of these years- and to see a proper smile was... Well, very sweet. 'Come on. You're all ready to go and see Natalia now, aru.' Yao pocketed the makeup, deciding to dispose of it when it was no longer necessary... Or hold onto it until he saw Hungary again. Either way, Natalia was not to know about the mark... Nor the methods used to hide it.

Taking the Russian's hand, Yao led him back into the conference room. When they neared Natalia, however, the Asian let go. He'd caused enough grief by being too close to his friend... Though he'd given his hand a little squeeze before their hands had parted.

Deciding to let Ivan speak to her, Yao was silent, eyes on the floor. He doubted he could meet her gaze after today.

Gilbert was silent as the Austrian puttered around in the kitchen, pondering over the events that had happened earlier today. It...well, it made him uncomfortable. Plus, since Ludwig was stuck in London, he'd have to spend the night here. In fact, he probably should tell Roderich that, soon. Eventually, he supposed. It was put on his to-do list, meaning he might tell him in a couple of hours. Not that there was really anything else on that list. Well, take more medication. But that was still an hour or so away.

He blinked and glanced over as the Austrian came back into the room. So they were going to watch Jaws now?

Sitting up a bit, his cheeks grew warm as he contemplated his next choice of words. "You can sit on the couch," he murmured softly, sitting up fully so there was room where his head had been. "I don't mind, ya know..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The genuine smile fading behind his regular fake smile that he normally wore, Ivan fell quiet as Yao took his gloved hand and led him into the meeting room.
He was nervous about speaking to his sister. She wouldn't want to be left alone. It was fortunate that the mark was covered, as well, because if she had known he had been punched, she would ensure that she remained at his side for the next year.
"Ah... Natalia..." he murmured, blinking slightly. "Um... Are you okay?" he questioned softly in Russian. While he didn't want to leave Yao out of the conversation by speaking fluent Russian, he also didn't want to struggle with English or be overheard by curious nations looking to see him weak.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:32 am
'Hm? Oh. Sure. Thank you.' Roderich moved to the space that the ex-nation had supposedly allocated for him with a slight smile, though it appeared nervous. Notedly, he also took the cushion that he was sat on with him, holding it close to himself as a sort of comforter... And it gave him something to hide behind if it got a little too much.
However, he didn't exactly want to show weakness. It was petty, as the Austrian had already informed Gilbert of his fear, but he couldn't bear the thought of being laughed at for it. After all, it was to the extent that a mere goldfish made him uncomfortable, and sent a prickly feeling of displeasure down his spine.
'If you're sure you don't want to lay down... I'm alright sitting on the floor if you still want to rest.' He chanced a glance at the albino, attempting (and failing) to mask the slight unnerved look in his eyes.
Gilbert watched quietly as Roderich took the offered space, fighting back the slight nausea that was beginning to bubble inside him again. He bit his lip, swallowing the curse that was ready on his tongue. He didn't want to make it too evident that he was in discomfort, because the Austrian would most likely insist that he go to bed. He really didn't want to sleep much in this condition, though, because he knew the nightmares were just out of reach of his conscious mind. If he slept, he would be bombarded by them.
Once the Austrian was settled, Gilbert flashed him a slight smirk. "Who says I can't rest as is?" he voiced, a bit of his regular cockiness tinging his words.
Still with the smirk playing on his lips, he leaned back and rested his head on Roderich's lap. Surprisingly, despite his dislike of being touched, it was comfortable.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 16, 2010 2:41 pm
The only reaction that such an action gained from the Austrian was a fresh blush... Otherwise, Roderich said nothing for a few moments. Perhaps his theory had been incorrect, and the ex-nation was actually fine with being touched... As long as it was on his terms. And that was fair enough; he doubted he'd really like being touched if he'd not consented to it.
Then again, as the ex-nation had said before, this could also be due to the medication, so he couldn't read too much into this. It infuriated him, in a way, that he was so close to Gilbert... And yet, it could all just be the effects of the medicine. So this friendship that they seemed to form, weak and frail as it was, was probably going to dissolve after the albino's return to full health.
However, it was hard to remind himself of this when his heart was fluttering the way it was, and his stomach twisted... It was that odd feeling again, whatever that was. He felt this strong longing to reach and stroke the ex-nation's hair, like he had done earlier on the plane, but decided against it... It was better this way. It would give Gilbert less of a reason to move if he wasn't touching him unnecessarily.
'Fair point...' He murmured, looking down at Gilbert with a slight smile. 'Not too uncomfortable there, are you?' Chancing a glance up at the television, he barely registered what was going on. So far, no shark appearance... And he felt glad for that.
But perhaps it was his fear of the shark that was making him feel funny. Yes, that was it.
Comfortably situated with his head on the Austrian's lap, Gilbert could feel himself nodding off, a bit. He supposed that he probably should stay awake, in case the movie proved to be too much for Roderich. But...the medication that was still in his system was causing a deep set exhaustion to settle inside of him.
He tilted his head slightly toward the television, so that his cheek lightly brushed against Roderich's leg. However, the glasses he was still wearing were pressed uncomfortably due to the new position. With a soft sigh, he reached up and pulled them off.
"You want these back?" he questioned, glancing up at Roderich. He was amused to note the faint blush that dusted the Austrian's cheek. He held the glasses out as if they were a peace offering of some sort. Maybe for his unpredictable behaviour from earlier in the kitchen.
