And yes, you should. I have heard a lot about it, but never a guide on HOW to go about it. ^^

And I know Serebii has a guide, which is what I started off on, but apparently it's confusing to first-timers. Though it also is just the bare minimums; What EVs/IVs are, common Pokémon what give EVs in X Stat, to EV train battle these Pokémon X times, maybe a few mentions of the Power items/Macho Brace. But nothing about EV spreads, no answer to the PokéRus+Macho Brace question that plagues the fandom constantly, the best Pokémon for which jobs, the tie between EV training and com.bat...
Well hey, if there's anything specific about EV training you and anyone else would like to see, feel free to tell me. :D
