Soranoko Aeolusis Thanks Shawna, Aivi. 3nodding And Shawna get a webcam so you can help me practice. crying Send me money so I can buy one ): 0 ffff... Having somebody to practice with would be nice, though. The conversation finals always make me nervous. gonk
How far you into ASL? And hell yeah having someone to practice with is a must. This is the second week of ASL and I've already started forcing myself to make friends in that class as a need to survive. gonk
Art 1A Drawing and Prospective I've done the same, but not out of the need to survive. This time it's common interests. Three others besides myself are all into anime and games, so we were talking about what anime we like or watch, and games some. But along with that we also talked about some of the fads of the 90's, like poke'mon, pogs, orange julius, and other funny stuff. lol
Art 3A was Critique was today for our first project, I was the 5 person up which I'm kind of thankful, but I was nervous as hell since I'm not a public speaker. crying Got an A though. pirate

I'm pretty sure we're thinking of the same thing; a glissando is when you slide from one note to another. (My hands are small, too. It's really sad when after 17 years you still can't play things in octaves cleanly...)
Alright, I really have to get this off my chest. My city wants to build a damn baseball stadium in my neighborhood for the Oakland A's. Literally down the street. Literally in my neighbor's back yard. And a few blocks away from the local elementary school. It's outrageous. They've been studying the "site" for almost 2 years now.
My neighborhood is made of immigrant success stories. People who came to the USA with nothing, people who worked hard to making a living to move to this peaceful area to raise their kids and put them in good schools. What will this stadium do to our property values? Crime rate? 10,000 extra cars driving around? Pollution, litter, noise, people being stuck in their homes during game nights? The worst part is how the city is planning this behind closed doors; the people haven't even had a chance to ******** VOTE on it.
They say it will "bring revenue" and "help local businesses"... Oh, really? If it was so great, why did all of the big businesses oppose having the stadium built in the commercial district?!
My family and I went to a protest last night, along with like 800 other people. Really, I'm so mad about this. I wish I knew what I could do... I've joined my city's online citizen network and offered to volunteer for any future events... I hope we can get the city council to listen to us.
