"Do not wail and do not weep, it's time for you to go to sleep. Little children, you were not clever. Now you'll stay with me forever."
ββ Wicker watched from across the plain at the other beginners, tackling boars and wolves which seemed to be the equivalent of rats in other games. These low level monsters seemed to appear in mobs and given that it was a beginning area, the respawn rate was likely fairly high. He drew his own weapon from the invisible bank of his character's inventory and a moment had to stay his hand as his instincts told him to target the closest player. He was forced to remind himself of his current level and equipment. Grimly he smiled and skulked out of sight to seek a mob elsewhere. He didn't have to move far out of the way, as the place was absolutely teeming with wild boar. They were quick to aggro, but fortunately Wicker was able to keep enough distance to only aggro two of the beasts. They turned with bright red eyes to face him. He kept a light stance with his sword arm fully extended. With a loose wrist and gentle grip, he steadied for an expected charge. The creatures easily telegraphed their move, digging into the ground with their hooves and lowered their heads with tusks jutting forward. The first one came and his partner trailed behind a few inches. Wicker easily side-stepped the first, but the second drifted, forcing him to kick and jump back. βWas that a fluke or an actual decent A.I.?β he asked. The boars gave no response as they broke into another dash, weaving slightly. Again, Wicker side-stepped, sweeping his blade across the first boar for minor damage before the second crashed into him. Surprisingly the impact felt quite real as he was hurled back, slamming into the earth. The little bar at the top left of his vision dwindled a little. There was a moment in which Wicker felt a shock of pain, but he wondered whether it was real or simply his brain's anticipation of pain as it adjusted to this new reality.
Staring at the sky, the wild boar's snort drew his attention. βRight?β his head turned as he rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself up. βNo, pincer,β he corrected himself, seeing that one of the boars was braced to charge on each side. Wicker was beginning to think that skipping the manual's explanation of combat was a poor choice. No time. Each of the boars charged. Wicker loosened his grip and as the space closed, swung in a diagonal arc. The blade cleaved into the first boar's snout, splitting the head in a shower of red damage polygons that spasmed and exploded, tearing the virtual creature's body apart at it's death. The momentum carried into a secondary blow, which just scarcely grazed the other boar. The blow shifted the boar's direction and weakened the strike, causing the beast to strike his right leg and send him spinning onto the grassy field. His enemy was not so disoriented as he stumbled up from the wrecking blow. Another chip of his health vanished and the wild boar was set across from him, snorting and grunting. βUsually these types of creatures die quickly and easily, but these ones won't stand still long enough,β he complained. He readied his sword as the boar charged. Recollecting what he read about sword skills, he remembered something about them being activated through a movement or motion. His fingers traced his blade and the weapon glowed in a dull light, signaling the activation of his skill. He pressed an advance as the boar came into his hit box and performed a quick <>. Broken fragments of crimson data crashed around him as the creature exploded into a hundred colored pixels. Wicker ground his foot, nearly tripping forward from his own momentum as the light faded from his sword. βSo that's a sword skill. Flashy,β he commented as the post-battle notification screen popped up, displaying the battle rewards. He tapped the on-screen button, acknowledging his small achievement as he drew back his hood and drew a hand through his hair. If this were reality, he would have broken a sweat, but he felt cool instead. At least now he to use his skills more often and he had a good handle on dealing with boars. βA few more of those things, then we'll try a wolf,β he told himself. ββ

Chacho
The beast tamer giggled, she was having fun. She didn't mind not joining the killing spree, she had made a good choice being a support character. She felt confident that no one would die on her watch, and subsequently it became her new goal. She waved as Taki took off, indicating she heard him. She was mildly curious as to where he was off to, but she didn't have time to ask. She called out another heal spell and the two fighting were momentarily engulfed with a soft glow of light before their HP maxed out again. Chacho sighed happily, once these two were leveled, they could go tackle the dungeon, then the boss. Once they hit floor two they could start a guild. They could be the strongest group in the game. With a small excited hop, Chacho shot off another spell killing a couple mobs that had tried to corner Nimm and Koku. With that little kill, she got a notification that she had leveled once again.

TAKI INAZUMAUTSU "Teddy"
XXXA small smile spread to his lips whenthe other noticed his presence. For one who looked so involved in the hunt, he was still keeping tabs on the number of enemies on the island. Luckily for him, he wouldn't appear due to his player status, not to mention his sneak level was increasing with him standing in such proximity to the other without being detected. Silently, he waited as he milked the other's weariness for his own gain, satisfied when the ability got to a certain level. Due to this newly enhanced ability, he was able to slip away undetected before he launched himself into the air, this time spiraling down onto the normal plane of the Hunting Grounds. Sighing, he decided it was time for him to work on his sword skill alone. Drawing his basic blade, he dashed through the fields, leveling both his speed and other stats significantly with every kill, becoming minutely stonger after each slash. After the onslaught continued for an hour or so, he quickly grew bored. The monsters weren't even a challenge for him anymore; and now he was sufficiently bored. Opening up his mod panel after he checked to see if anyone was around to see him batting at the air, he looked up the character he had just witnessed and added him to a monitor list, the only other members on that list being Chacho, Koku, and Nimm. With that done, he closed the menu, turned on a dime, and headed back to the Town of Beginnings. He needed a shield to level quicker...
((Exit)) ((Sorry for the late response ^^; ))

Chacho
Chacho spent the remainder of the day playing support to the two leveling characters before her. Occasionally, she would switch in here and there, but mostly she stood back, casting her healing skills and leveling her magic. Taki hadn't returned at all for the rest of the afternoon into evening, she couldn't sense him anywhere. As the sun began to set, she called out to Nimm and Koku. Thats enough for today guys! You've got a bunch of experience under your belt, lets go back before it gets dark! Lola trotted up to her master and jumped onto her shoulders. Chacho gave her a scratch on the head before continuing. I don't know where Taki ran off to, but we had best go back, find an inn, and food. I'm pretty spent. Chacho gave a tired smile. In a regular battle, she had more than enough mana to cover a party, but she was firing off spells the entire day, and her blue bar was always at a minimum. She was tired. It would get better as her mana regen started up, but until then, the cait was spent.

β n i m mβ Karis Fujisakiβ Nodding at Chacho as she left, Nimm continued training. Koku had disappeared to somewhere, and soon, she was waiting for more monsters to respawn yet again. Keeping in mind Chacho's warning, she sighed and decided to call it a day. The Imp muttered a healing spell and watched as her HP began to slowly move towards the green zone. She flew back off the island, just making it as her wings disappeared. The girl half-heartedly dealt with the rest of the monsters on her way back to the town, and watched as she leveled up again. After all that training, she had reached level fifteen, and she was sure if she stayed a few more hours she would soon be level sixteen. The respawn rate seemed to still be faster than normal, which was probably intended to combat the insane level curve from the original SAO. Or that's what Nimm had heard floating around in a few rumors. Nimm soon made her way to the Town of Beginnings, and sighed, suddenly tired.Exit to Town of Beginnings
