Yo. Thought it would be fun to try a Sburb session here on Gaia. I've managed to do a few successful ones on Facebook, but I'd like to try a forum style roleplay. Just fill out the little thing and we'll work out the details as we go along, yeah? I just hope you're good with my pickiness xD. I try to keep my sessions from having a shared class or title in the game- so that everyone's role is unique and we don't end up having four Princes fighting each other.

I'll do mine last, mostly because I am good with any title and I'd rather you guys pick first. So yeah. Hopefully this won't die before it can even begin.

How To Beat Sburb
A dummy's guide to the end of the world.

First off, one does not simply win Sburb. Most sessions die horrible deaths and if they win, that doesn't always mean they'll get to reap the rewards. And God Tiering? Shoot. The Alternia session with Karkat, Vriska, and the like barely made it- and they had outside help. Now thanks to a very special GameFAQ, the requirements for the death game have been identified!

1. Having everything you need.
Now I'd love to go head first on an adventure of Cosmic Frog proportion, but if you want to have a good time, each session needs a few things. See, the point of Sburb is to create a new universe. Just that. The only way to do that would be to have both "cardinal" aspects: Space and Time represented in the game in case of emergency. The Space Player helps make the frog (we'll get on that later) and the Time Player keeps the timelines in check and initiates The Scratch in case of failure (same).

Got those two? Good. A Knight is helpful but they won't make or break your session.

2. Forming Rings and Prototyping Rings- Getting Started
Every session has a ring of players that interconnect in order to have the actual game. A Server hosts the Client to play. That Client becomes another person's Server and they continue forming the chain until the original Server can join the game as a Client as well. Here's an example.

Server/Client
Rose/John
John/Dave
Dave/Jade
Jade/Rose

Now is when things get a little bit tricky.

The Server is going to find a lot of weird looking items- but they should only care about three: the cruxtruder, the totem lathe, and the alchemiter. To keep things simple, I'll give a set of directions on what the Client should do when the Server places down all three.

1. Open Cruxtruder
2. Throw something in the Kernalsprite*
3. Take a blank totem from the cruxtruder
4. Put the totem on the totem lathe and carve it- without using any cards to modify it
5. Put the carved totem on the alchemiter
6. Alchemize an item
7. Use the item
8. Done
*Make sure to do this before entering the session if you want to continue breathing. And put in something useful, like a dead pet or a family member.

Its good to remember this, since this is how the crafting system works in Sburb. In order to enter the game you need to familiarize yourself with the basic mechanics. Trust me, you'll need to make some sweet gear to keep breathing.

3. You're in! Now what?

Build! It's a bit like Sims for the Server an Skyrim for the Client. Fight the bad guys you meet around your house as your Server uses the currency (Grist) you collect in order to build your house higher and higher into the first of the Seven Gates, with each one higher than the last! Eventually your tower will be very close to Skaia (later) itself.

Where your Gates will take you
1st The other side of your Land.
2nd Your Client's home
3rd The other side of your Client's Land.
4th Your Client's Client's home
5th The other side of your Client's Client's Land.
6th Your Client's Client's Client's home
7th Your Denizen (later)

Don't worry. For bigger sessions, you can use your ally's Gates in order to see your friends that live farther away! On every planet, there are Return Nodes, that can take and teleport you to any Land inside of the Medium that you've already been to. One tap and you're on your friend's front door.

4. Climb the towers and?
Fight. Seriously. You'll need to climb the Echeladder (the experience system in Sburb) in order to make better items and face stronger enemies. There are 100 Ladders in total that act as markers for how far you've progressed. For every Gate you've crossed (legitimately), you should have made it slightly past 10 Ladders. Once you've made it to around Ladder 70, you'll want to consider facing your Denizen in their lair: an endgame boss that will give you a lot of Grist, loot, and experience (10 whole Ladders) upon defeating it.

5. Time for Quests
The game is more than just the Hunger Sims: every player has an impossible sounding quest that they should consider doing in order to help climb the Echeladder. Your Denizen has done... something. Fix it. It can be anything, so ask around if you're lost.

As for Space players, your quest involves saving a bunch of frogs from something. Who knows? But they're important and you'll need them eventually!

6. Frogs, Universes, and more
Around the time the players get around to facing their Denizens and have finished their Quests, the Space player should consider making the Genesis Frog: the baby version of your universe that you'll live in after. Get some help, find the frogs on your planet, and use ectobiology on some meteor somewhere in order to breed the perfect frog. Take it to Echidna, your Denizen (you don't want to kill her) and talk about her holding onto that tadpole until the game is over.

Also see about getting one of her quills and hand one off to the Time Player. If push comes to shove and you can't beat the game, they can reset the session and the Universe you came from. Just, uh, don't be in the Medium when that happens if you like living. It can and will wipe you from existence so hard you won't even leave a ghost.

7. Universe made, quests done, Gate Tower completed, Denizens ganked, and Echeladder (mostly) completed. Now?
Unless Jack has done something (trust me, he will try something), it should be time for the Reckoning. The Black King has defeated the White King as fate would have it and it's up to you to defeat him! Otherwise that swarm of meteors will kill you. Defeat this final boss and break his Scepter in order to finish the game. Once that's done, walk through the magic door and you have a brand new life in front of you. Have fun being a god.

Jack?
Yeaaaaah.

Every player has a moon and a body on it that they go to when they sleep. There's the yellow Prospit and the purple Derse. Prospit Dreamers can look into Skaia to see the future and the Derse Dreamers get advice from some Old Gods from beyond. Spooky. Well, those two moons are at war and you're in the middle. The Black Royalty want you dead and The White Royalty just wants to keep the peace. A Derse Agent named Jack will try to kill the Black Queen and take her place. Do not let this happen. Deal with him and deal a blow by killing the Black Queen early on unless you want her to help the Black King when it's time to face him.

You can either use Jack against her or find a very odd ex Dersite soldier somewhere on Skaia.
---------------------------
Now that that's done- enjoy and try not to die!
