Brief History
It all started in 2031, when the free nations of the world (Generally the members of the U.N.) combined their efforts in a worldwide space program known as the GEAA or General Earth Aerospace Alliance, in a response the a new alien threat
The Datean Race
We eradicated them, using the nuclear bomb on a massive scale on their planet. It was a last resort against their superior air and ground military.
With the loss of our common enemy we began fighting over control of the massive power over the GEAA. With no other alternatives, the members of the GEAA decided to combine their governments into a loose confederacy called the Human Colonial Alliance.
In an effort to appease the growing discontent with the Alliance, its council launched its first extra-solar colony on the planet Wader 6.
Utopia.
HCA Politics
The HCA (Human Colonial Alliance) is a loose confederation of the countries of Earth.
All members of the Alliance send 10 representatives to participate in the Alliance Council. The council has a "Council President" who does not vote unless the vote is split evenly. The CP is elected by the Council
The HCA has a specialized Marine Force which all members contribute to. It was designed initially as a way of protecting civilians in case of an alien attack. However it had evolved as a way of scaring members into staying and non-members into joining.
All War Ships must be named with the letters HWS (Human War Ship)
All Exploration Ships must be named with the letters HTS (Human Trade Ship)
All others must be named with the letters PHS (Private Human Ship)
Wader 6
Wader 6 was a small farming colony on the edge of the Wader system. It's star is a bright, hot, blue giant, giving Utopia (as it was later called) the perfect amount of sunlight to give it a slightly-warmer-than-Earth climate.
However, unknown to our leaders, Wader 6 was already a heavily populated colony planet on the Nemen Race.
Almost instantaneously they had destroyed our colony ships, decimated our supply lines, and nearly found our most sacred home.
Our Closest Enemy
The Neman Race is an alien species that originated on the planet Neth. They are a violent, irrational, war mongering species who share a surprisingly similar DNA to humans; enough so that the two species could cross-breed (though any children born of both species would be infertile)
Recent research has discovered uncanny powers possessed individually by each gender.
Males
Males are the more violent of the two genders. They are not only nearly 24x stronger than the average human, but they also lack any form of reasoning skills; yet the typical male Neman has a potential IQ of 104.7.
They also seem to have a sort of subconscious healing power, which scientist expect had evolved as a way of keeping them alive during combat (males primarily fought in wars)
Females
Females, while still having a great deal of violence, are the scholars and political leaders of the species. They have an IQ of 252.1 on average, all of which they have perfect access to (unlike the males). They are only 15% stronger than a normal human, but are still suitable for minimal, essential combat due to their high reflexes.
Females developed a method of shape-shifting where they can consciously change their skeletal alignment and skin pigmentation. This is limited to length of bones and skin color
Weapons
Swords
Swords are generally popular with private traders and certain divisions of the Marines that operate mostly inside their ships. They offer a more effective way of dealing damage to enemies, with minimum effect to the ship’s interior. However they are practically useless in an open environment where guns can be used readily.
Guns
Guns are extremely popular across the board as an all around weapon. The most common is the .9 mm Semi-Automatic Handgun. Automatic weapons are generally reserved for high ranking Special Forces Marines (SFMs) and are rare to come by.
Guns use bullets. No blasters
Explosives
The ingredients for explosives, and some pre-made are readily available to almost any private citizen who can afford them.
Marines carry small micro-grenades, powerful explosives the size of a penny.

Home-Made
Ship
Warships, Dreadnaughts, and Large Freighters are the only vehicles large enough to house a weapon-grade plasma blaster. They take almost 50 seconds to charge. They also have an enormous risk of over-heating when used too often.
More common weapons are missiles and nuclear torpedoes. Small ships usually have no weapons or depend on basic guns as defense.
Medicine
Most modern medicine is focused around four medications
H5g
Also referred to as “Heal-Gel” or “Heal”.
Is applied topically to repair damaged flesh. Essentially uses the DNA of surrounding cells and mimics these properties. Of course it isn’t perfect, which is why surgery is needed for major wounds (like a broken bone)
T76bi
An injected hormone treatment that is referred most commonly as “Rage”. Uses a Nemen hormone to temporarily increase the stamina, speed, and strength of a Marine. Is often built into their Combat Armor as a last resort
MF5p
Taken Orally. Is another deviation of the Nemen’s hormones that improves focus and permanent memory retention. Creates connections within the brain to improve it’s effectiveness.
A889a
The latest in pain killers. Can be taken orally as a general analgesic or applied topically for local pain. Is also useful because of it’s anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
Anything that can’t be treated by these meds will usually be treated by surgery or a treatment plan involving these and a few other medicines.
Background
