For those of you who know me, you should already know that I collect preserved animals and put them on display. I'll be you didn't know that I gather and dry my own flowers, braiding, twisting, and weaving them, too, sometimes.
As I was walking my dog last weekend, I plucked a few crocuses, crushed or dropped most, and was left with only one tiny flower between my fingers. It was then that I had the most peculiar sensation, and a bizarre thought came to me.
Interestingly enough, due to the way I was holding the stem of the flower, it actually felt as if the thing was throbbing between my fingers. I'm certain it was nothing more than just my heartbeat, but it was interesting, to say the least. Not only that, but it also got me wondering. I wondered to myself, 'how many heartbeats have I stolen from something in the mere seventeen years of my life? How many heartbeats have been stolen from me?'
Obviously, with collecting things such as rabbit pelts, shark pups, and puffer fish, I'm certain I've got at least a few hundred.
More interestingly, though, are the people who claim my preservation of animals is wrong, ignorantly telling me that I am the reason those animals died, and that I should be more eco-friendly.
I'm sure it would be a whole hell of a lot easier if I actually believed them for a second.
To me, it's rude to say it's my fault the animal died, as I typically get them at second hand stores (meaning that it was killed LONG before I ever came into the picture), and it's just down right bizarre that a girl can tell me to stop killing animals (which I Don't, nor do I support animal abuse) while the lipstick she's wearing in mass quantities actually has fish scales ground up into it -- AND she's a proud eater of meat.
Some people are just idiots.

Lovely Lady Leviathan and it's just down right bizarre that a girl can tell me to stop killing animals (which I Don't, nor do I support animal abuse) while the lipstick she's wearing in mass quantities actually has fish scales ground up into it -- AND she's a proud eater of meat. Some people are just idiots. XD True that, Nudge dearest. I love animals, but being of a wolfish nature I do eat meat. I am also aware of the simple fact that life is life, and especially in the wild its just a constant game of survival. Some make it some don't. Its sad, but its how the world was made, and when you think about it human society follows the pattern likewise. We can put in effort to help protect, and sometimes it pays off, but in the end nature will have its way.

*Snrk* I've always laughed at vegetarians who eat plants 'cause they can't stand animals dying.
Animals die. their nutrients feed other plants and animals. The same damn thing happens to plants, and that's where some arrogant holier-than-thou people mess up.
Plants are just as alive as animals. Yet we happily kill them for our food. Aren't we all hypocrits, hmm?

The world is made so that animals kill eachother so that no race dies out. There's a reason for death and destruction, there's a reason for control and government. And I used to be an anarchist.
But yeah, I hate those peta/vegan buffoons who try and make me feel bad because I am not completely eco-friendly. My thought is, if I wasn't supposed to have this, why would man being the way we are, make it? There's so much more that people don't bother to think about, because they're afraid they might be wrong... It's disturbing how selfish we are. We have to be perfect at all times, but why?.... Stupid people and stupid ideals make the world spin.-sigh-

-xXrowan_of_wonderlessXx- Ooh, you! *points at KillingAnonymously* Go post in the intro thread! I haven't met you yet... 3nodding *waves* *nods* *looks at Lady Leviathan* Um...make intro too...? *head tilt* Anyway, I suppose it's time I finally got around to this. I don't really like that either. I mean, what they're saying is really being kinda hypocritical. They can't really say that it's your fault because, who knows, that animal could very well have simply been weaseled out of the world by some other animal in the wild. There's no proof that it's literally human involvement. Life begins and ends...regardless of how. Niccolo Salomanos Animals die. their nutrients feed other plants and animals. The same damn thing happens to plants, and that's where some arrogant holier-than-thou people mess up. And here is why I don't care much for the veggi scene. Yeah...okay...so my post is scattered and may make liiiittle sense....but hey....it's 6am. I'm kinda sleepy still. >.<
