Mohana hesitated on the threshold of their shelter, glancing behind her in concern. She loathed to leave them here, but it would simply be too much of a hassle to try and bring the girls along. Besides, she needed to scout out and learn as much as she could about the new pride so she would be able to inform her daughters.

With a nod, Mo turned forward again and raced off through the early morning light. It wasn't very far to the lands of the particular pride she had her eye on. Her thoughts turned back towards the girls, but she shoved them aside. They would be fine. They were sound asleep when she left and they had Bipin to look after them. The grumpy male loved them dearly and would see that they came to no harm.

As she approached and crossed the borders, Mo slowed to a steady walk. She needed to confirm that she and her cubs and Bipin would be welcome here. This was going to be their new home, a good place for her girls to grow up. Mo thought fondly of her old lifestyle but was willing to give it up. She couldn't live like that anymore. She was thinking of them. This was all for them.

Glancing about, Mohana thought she caught the scent of another nearby. It could be an old trail, but it was worth seeing if someone was about. Someone she could talk to. She followed her nose and kept a wary eye out for others.

"Hm?" Raha raised his head and looked around. He knew that he didn't know everyone in the pride, but body language was always a dead giveaway. He had been around the borders, checking out some different areas in what they may offer in preybeasts to hunt. He had followed the advice of a couple others to check it out on his own accord, to make his own decision.

He just didn't think he'd find something new in different terms.

He trotted over to the lioness, figuring that there was no risk in a one-on-one confrontation.

"Hello, can I help you...?" he asked cautiously, not sure if he could really help her, or if she even wanted help.

Mohana had fully expected to sneak up unsuspecting on the other lion. She had not expected him to approach her or to strike up a conversation. She froze, uncertain for a moment. Shaking her head to get rid of the feelings of surprise, she relaxed her posture and attempted a smile at the other lion. It was difficult, as she was still on guard, but she managed. It was obvious that this was another pride member and just was she was looking for.

"Actually, yes, you can help me. My name is Mohana. I'm interested in making this pride my home and the home of my daughters and my friend Bipin. I like this pride. It looks like a safe place to bring by girls. I just don't know how to proceed."

Realizing that she was being rather blunt, Mo stopped and smiled sheepishly before speaking again.

"I'm sorry if I am being very forward. May I ask your name?"

O-oops. While he had thought that he had been doing the right thing, it seemed that he had approached her, well, incorrectly. Shoot, he hoped that he hadn't done anything too drastic. He couldn't help but fold back his ears a little in apology, trying to look as un-threatening as possible. And he couldn't blame her, not with how long it took him to befriend his ex-firekin slave mate.

Of course, with how blunt she was, it felt like even more blows to his somewhat-existant ego (all males had one, right?). Pow, pow!

Sucking it up as any adult would do, he resisted the urge to look around, wondering if this was some sort of test on his part. But there were no obvious signs, nothing. She was most likely exactly what she said she was. Not homeless, but wanting a home.

"Er, uh..." he was a little dumbfounded with her forwardness, to say the least. Man, he had been spending just a little too much time with Fatia and forgot how strongwilled females could be. And boy was that a shallow thought.

"My name is Raha," he said carefully. "So you're aware you're just within the Tuait'tekem pride's lands, then?" Dumb question, but he wanted to make sure that she knew just where she was. Once he had left his home in the pridelands, man, the world was too big for him to really realize it.

Mohana could tell that she had thrown the poor male off with her blunt manner. Silently cursing her forward way of speaking, she forced herself to relax and smiled at him. He was trying to be helpful, and hopefully between the two of them, she would figure out what she needed to know.

"Yes, the Tuait'tekem lands. I would like to raise my daughters here. I heard from another traveler that we would most likely be welcome here. I have learned what I can about the pride, but I don't know what to do now. Should I have brought my daughters with me?" she asked, with a concerned frown, wondering if she'd made the wrong decision. "They were asleep and I wanted to be sure they would be safe."

Mo realized that she was still being very blunt and shook her head. It was difficult for her to do subtle. It wasn't in her personality. She truly hoped this male would be able to help her.

"Is there someone I should talk to? Could you tell me anything about this pride?" she asked, hopefully.

Raha listened carefully, though it wasn't like he had to decipher anything special she was saying, she was so blunt. She did pick through her words, noting the most important ones. Like 'daughters'. Oh man, oh man, that wasn't really in his realm of things, but he knew that them being out alone might not be the best thing, even hidden well.

So, he told himself, he'd help her as best he could quickly so she could gather up her cubs.

"Ah, yes, actually," he stumbled a bit, but started to gather himself up. There was an objective here, and that was easier to work with than approaching a mysterious stranger. "Perhaps you should start with the temple; mind, probably not go right in it, but there are plenty of important figures that work there during the day, you'll find just whom you need there."

His ears perked forward, unable to ask. "I'm certain your cubs are hidden safely, yes? It was before my time here, but I hear that there were some nasty vultures around here, nasty enough to steal children. I haven't heard of them lately m'self, but sadly these lands that aren't within the heart of the pride aren't quite as safe as we wish them to be." Not that he really helped with any of that, he was just a hunter. Still food kept the strong going, and that was what he did best.

While Mohana was listening attentively, she was also thinking, her mind making and changing a dozen plans a minute. She had to find a way to get her family into this pride. It looked like it would be a good and safe place. Above all, she cared for her daughters' safety.

Mo glanced up sharply at one of Raha's comments, startled. She was instantly concerned.

"Nasty vultures? There are vultures in the area? I wish I'd known that. Well, Bipin is with them, not that he'd be much help against a vulture . . ."

Mo had honestly thought her cubs would be safe, but now she was really worried. Granted, their shelter was excellent and it would be very hard for anything to get to them while they were inside the shelter, but if they should happen to wander out . . .

She turned to Raha, eyes pleading. "What should I do? Should I get them now? I just wanted to make sure they would be welcome before I brought them here. I can bear to disappoint them again." The last part was an admission, but she didn't care.

"Do you think I should go to the temple first and see if we all would be welcome, or should I go get them. Would they be safe here?"

"Well..." He didn't know too much personally about the vultures, everything that he knew was from stories. And as much as he trusted stories, there was always a touch extra in them, like a spice to make it more interesting. Still, he felt that there was no need to risk any extra harm than needed.

"I'm certain they would be fine for the next short while," he said, glancing up at the skies. Perhaps, if indeed any vultures were lingering around at this moment, they were following some hunters, hoping to snag an easy meal than an easy child.

"I haven't heard of them watching our lands lately, so surely they wouldn't be out at their heaviest. If they're hidden well, and know to stay put, they should be all right." Especially if someone was with them, whomever this Bipin was, it was better than them completely alone.

He felt a touch of concern for how she felt. How long had she traveled, especially with young ones in tow? Surely the priests at the temples wouldn't turn away a single mother with children to keep an eye on.

"I would ask to seek shelter, explain that you want a home for your children. I cant see any wrong way in taking that path." Being upfront and honest, and true, always seemed like the best resort.

With his reassurance, Mohana was able to calm down slightly. They were well hidden and she would make sure not to linger. They had food, water, and the grouchy Bipin to watch them. She'd also raised them to be cautious. They knew she would be angry and disappointed if they were to wander out alone.

Mo listened with rapt attention to Raha's suggestions, hanging on every word. She wanted to be sure she got it right. This was useful information and with his suggestions, she was likely to succeed in her quest. They they would have a home. Home.

Her mind wandered slightly through her recent memories. Giving birth and striving to keep her young cubs alive and safe. They'd been wandering for quite some time before she'd settled on a pride. It had been hard, but finally, perhaps the day was here.

"Wonderful, thank you for all of the advice. That makes a lot of sense. I was going to tell them that in the first place, but now that I know that should be the best path, I feel very reassured."

Mo didn't truly smile very often, but thanks to Raha's help, she definitely felt like smiling, so she did.

"Thank you. For their sake and for mine, but especially for them. I just want them to have a good, safe life."

Raha felt his chest swell with a little pride. He was happy to help, as there was much help given to him when he first came here. He had been full of worries on Fatia, on how she would adjust, as when they had first met it was more than just a little messy to have an ex-slave feel like she was worth anything more than dirt. After that experience, he had reason to worry. Seeing her grow out of that, he had high hopes that this was the perfect home, and he would only sing it's praises to those that wished to make it their home too.

"They'll be very safe here; there are many guardians now, to keep the borders safe." He nodded, unable to resist smiling back. They were infectious!

"If you'd like, I'd be happy to escort you?" He felt that it was a nice gesture, since he was already out here and everything. "That way I can direct you and your cubs to the temple, right to where you need to be."

Mohana nodded, delighted by his offer. It was refreshing to meet someone who was so very helpful and he was willing to escort her right to the temple. She would go and get the girls and bring them with her along with Bipin. That way, she could prove that she did have three cubs who needed a safe place to live. They would make this place their home.

"Thank you! That is a truly nice offer and I am happy to accept," said Mo. She continued, "I am going to go and get the girls and Bipin and bring them too. They are not far, I should only be a few minutes, if you would be willing to wait? I think it would be good to bring them so that they understand what is going on and can see the pride for themselves."

She waited for his response before leaving, as was polite. The shelter really wasn't far away, as she said, and it would be good to hurry back there as it was likely that the girls were waking up now. Bipin would have his paws
full.

He nodded. "I would be happy to wait," he replied. It would make everything easier if he guided them, and also if Mohana picked up her own children on her own. He didn't have the most experience, but after being told to stay hidden somewhere, only to see your mothers return with a stranger might make them nervous. If she had a moment alone with them to quickly explain the situation, they would hopefully receive his guidance well, and not with mild, child-like suspicion. Children were very blunt in their manners, he certainly remembered that aspect when growing up.

"Take as much time as is needed," he said, though implied to not take too long. Not that he expected her to, but then, there was always the unexpected when it came to young ones. "I will happily wait here for your return."

Mohana nodded with a smile, easily reading the undertones. It certainly would be a bit of a surprise if Mo brought a strange male back to the den with her. It would be a lot easier to simply get them by herself and explain the situation on the way. She would go as swiftly as she could and she was raising her cubs to be very well behaved. With Bipin's help, they wouldn't take any time at all.

"Thank you very much. I will be back shortly, I promise," she said with another grin before she bounded off in the direction of the den. Soon, they would meet with the leaders of the pride and soon she and her girls would have a home. They would grow up safely with friends and a place to call home.

That was all she could ask for.
