This is where students take their P.E. Class, as well as run around and exercise in their free time.

Scott took Kaija's stack of books, once they entered the Gymnasium and set them down against the wall. "You want to run," he stated simply. "Go, on...run."

The red head stayed where she was, starring at Scott. This wasn't where she wanted to run. No, she wanted to run away, not run in circles. "I don't really want to run," she said quietly, hoping he might draw back.

Scott shook his head. "Nu-uh. You wanted to run, you ran through the halls and you told me three minutes ago that you still wanted to run. So, go on, run!"

Kaija still stared at him for a second longer. She didn't want to argue the case. It was clear he wasn't going to let her off. She had made a mistake, but he didn't even know what she did. Or did he? So far, he only spoke of her running.

"Go," he ordered and crossed his arms. He stood between her and the doors, she wasn't going to get off. He was determined of that. "You can stand there staring at me all you want, Kaija, but that's not going to change my mind, no matter how handsome you think I am," Scott continued without a hint of humor in his voice. "You wanted to run," he repeated. "Go on, run it all out!"

The anger in his voice didn't bother Kaija. It was when implied that she thought he looked handsome. Flames lit in her eyes and she took off running around the gym. It felt good to run, even though she wasn't really going anywhere. She watched as she made her first lap and Scott kept his eyes on her, still standing with his arms crossed over his chest, in front of the door.

Scott's chest slowly rose and fell with his arms as he calmed himself down. He thought of how long to let the girl run, and decided that he was just going to let her run it all out. For running in the hall, and running away from her problems. She needed to know that running away wouldn't solve anything, in fact it would make people angry, and it would hurt the person running more than if they faced their problems. He was going to let her run, then he would find out what exactly happened.

Kaija ran and ran, the more frustrated she got with being caught, the harder she ran. Running felt good. She always ran when she was in trouble or scared out of her mind. She didn't like to hurt people so, she ran. But, she also knew when to stay and fight. If she actually wanted to hurt someone, she would stay and fight them. Usually, they deserved it.

Scott watched the red head run harder and harder. A few minutes had passed and she was still running, but at a steady pace. He wondered how long it would take until she began to get tired. He remembered their fight, she had run for sometime through the woods before she finally stopped running, but then, she still had the energy to fight. She would have to learn how to control her gift, how to fight without it, to not run from her problems and face them head on.

Kaija looked over as she passed Scott, yet again, and saw him thinking. Her legs were starting to hurt, but she wasn't sure that Scott would allow her to stop, and in reality, she still wanted to run.

Scott watched as Kaija looked like she was starting to hurt. She was starting to slow down, against her own will. He could tell that she didn't want to give up until he told her that she could, and even then, she may keep going. They had to break her of her habit of not taking orders and not listening. It would get her in trouble on the team. Heck! It would get the team into some trouble.

Kaija's legs burned, she didn't know how far she had run, but she realized now that she should have paced herself from the beginning instead of going all out and blazing a trail through the gym. She glanced over at Scott but kept on running.

Scott let, the red head run for a few more minutes before yelling. "Alright, you can stop now!" He didn't want her to get shin splints and she still had things she had to do, places she had to be. Like maybe the cafeteria, kitchen, or her room.

Kaija ran a few more feet, before she started to slow down. She could have stopped on a dime, she could have stopped when Scott told her too. But she didn't like what he made her do, and she wanted him to be angry. Just like her. When she finally did stop, she wanted to rest her hands on her knees but she wouldn't give Scott that reward. He didn't deserve to see her weak. Instead, she stood tall, and breathing hard, waiting for Scott to come to her.

Scott grabbed a water bottle from a table and walked over to the red head, daring to shake his head. Of course, she would continue to run. He could see that she was tired and possibly hurting, but she wasn't giving into that. He handed her the water. "Alright, now you want to tell me what happened," he asked.

Kaija took the water, gratefully, she hated how much water she had to drink because of her power. She downed half the bottle as Scott watched her, wondering if she even took a breath. Then... "I didn't do it on purpose," she said finally, after taking a breath and capping the bottle. Her breathing had almost returned to normal, thanks to the water. "I didn't mean to burn her."

"What happened," Scott asked, the anger was gone from his voice now. She had said she didn't mean to, that meant it was an accident. Now, he was ready to listen, and she was ready to talk. He wasn't sure how well this idea of his would work out, but so far, so good. Even if she did hate him for the moment.

"She fell over my chair," Kaija said quietly, her eyes distant as she remembered how the event played out. "Her books went everywhere, and she looked up at me. My eyes...well, they did their thing," she continued as her eyes lit with dim, sad flames. Scott nodded, so far he was following. "She just kind of looked at me and then she touched my face, like she had never seen one before...I should have told her, I should have moved...."

"But you didn't," Scott finished and the red head nodded. He sighed and brought Kaija into a hug. He was careful to not let his skin touch hers, but he let her head rest against his leather coat. "Accidents happen, we wouldn't kick you out. You don't need to run anymore. Alright? We are here to help, and a lot of people here don't know about your skin. We can't cover you from head to toe."

Kaija didn't move, she didn't say anything. Scott's words echoed in her mind. 'You don't need to run anymore'. She pulled away from his hug and he let her go. "You aren't mad," she asked.

"I was mad that you ran from your problems and that you fought both Bobby and I," Scott admitted. "I was not happy with the way you acted. But I understand now, what happened. You were scared. But you don't need to run from your fears...When I met you, you stayed and fought me, what happened?"

"I didn't want to fight her," she replied. "I didn't know what to do."

Scott nodded and gestured towards the gym door. He would have to tell the others what had gone on. Xavier, Bobby, Altessa and Lily.

The red head suddenly felt faint, but tried to fight it off. Her body heat had taken most of the water she had just drank. With the temperatures that she had, she needed more water than the average person.

"Kaija, are you all right," Scott asked seeing her face pale and her eyes looked distant. He didn't wait for an answer. "Your room or the infirmary, your choice," he said as he scooped her up. He would send her books up later.

Kaija frowned, she hadn't eaten. "My room," she replied.

Scott nodded, understanding why she wouldn't want to go to the infirmary, Bobby and the others might still be there. "Alright, I'll have someone bring you some food and your books," he told her so that she wouldn't have to worry.
