Hello everyone!
Your hardworking Guild Captain is here, ready to bring all of you an awesome, fun, creative writing assignment!
I want every available guild member to work together to come up with an idea, using the given characters, items, scenes, time frame given to help create a short story that I ( Echo Penn ) myself will animate.
The guild members will become the writers to a short crude animation.
The guild members will also decide who will voice act which characters, come up with ideas for " what " scene, and compose music for the animation. All guild members who participate in the projects will be credited !
FOR EXAMPLE:
First Animation Project !
Titled: " Gee, I don't know....Squidily Spooch ! "
Summary
" Two characters, a cat and a bunny are in their backyard, playing with a big red ball ".
This is just the foundation I have laid down for the guild members to work with. You decide what will the cat and bunny do with the big red ball. Do they play with the ball and the ball gets lost? Do they accidentally get the ball stuck in a tree and they come up with wacky solutions to retrieve the big red ball? Do they accidentally kill each other with it, lol? Whatever ideas you can think of, the guild members who volunteered to participate during the writing process, needs to start posting your ideas within the writing room forums! I will animate to the voices, sound effects, final draft of the script, and the music you have composed for the super short crudely animated project !
There are a couple of ground rules we need to cover first:
1). The animation can't be too long. It's called, " Short Crude Animation, " for a reason, lol. Keep it short, simple, and sweet. The animation has to be a time length of one minute and thirty seconds or shorter.
2). The artwork will be crudely animated, so don't expect anything fancy, lol !
3). Even though the guild members are the writers and creators of " Crude Animation Projects, " Echo Penn gets the final say on what gets animated. So be cautious of what content ideas you create and what language you use during the animation process. I know I have written a script in the Black and White Cartoon forum that consist of language that may not be suitable for voice actors who may not feel comfortable swearing. I want all guild members to feel comfortable participating in the writing room.
4). Be original ! ! ! No pitching other ideas that already exist or have been done by another animator! I want to animate new idea concepts, created by the members of this guild! So please, please, please, by careful of you ideas and what you brainstorm into the writing room. ORIGINAL IDEAS ONLY !
5). And the last most important rule of all...ECHO PENN GETS THE FINAL SAY ON ALL ANIMATION PROJECTS!
If you have any questions you wish to ask, please post them within this forum.

This is awesome! I've got an idea already! The bunny and cat are playing with the ball. They are throwing it back and forth but the cat ends up hitting it to hard but instead of having it go at the bunny, it stops and deflates slowly. This happens because the cat got to excited and its claws came out just when it was going to hit it. The cat is sad but the bunny quickly has an idea and runs off. It returns not too long after with tape, gloves, and a pump. The bunny tapes up the wholes and pumps up the ball. Good as new. but then the bunny adds gloves to the cat's paws. The cat is super happy about this now and so they continue to play but when the bunny throws the ball to the cat the ball slips out of the cat's paws very quickly because he was trying to squish it real hard so it wouldn't slip but it slips either way but with extreme force and ends up hitting the bunny real hard. XD
I think the bunny should think of another idea to try and fix the problem but it doesn't work and ends up getting it hurt again and have the animation end with some huge explosion or something. Lol. Then it should go back to the bunny and cat all fried but with big eyes of surprise.
That's my idea. Lol

This is the kind of random zany-ness I am talking about. It sounds fun to animate. I have to re-read your summary so I can get a better understanding of what you are talking about, but it shouldn't be to hard. I just need to storyboard it. I'll wait till a few people pitch an idea towards the first project. I need to see if there are going to be any voice over work involved, or it could be a silent cartoon with just funny sound effects. Either way is fine, lol. Plus I would like more composers to get involve creating the music for it. Thank you Chibigurla, for your continuous initiative towards the guild. I'll just go with your idea since you are always the most active within the guild. Thank you for that, lol.

We are going with Chibigurla's idea for the first animation project. Chibigurla is the creator of this project which makes her project leader. So there won't be any confusion on who is directing what project, lol.

It did help with some of the ideas you gave though. biggrin I left it incomplete of an idea just so others can brainstorm and put in their ideas as well. When I was thinking of this idea I wasn't really thinking of any lines. I was thinking of it as a silent type of scene. Kind of like the show Tom & Jerry. ^_^

Would you like me to go more into detail with my idea? I was thinking that other people would join in and put more ideas but seeing that nobody else did I can add more detail to my story idea. Just so it's complete and not half assed on my part. lol

I have started drawing the rough sketches for this animation right now. I am way behind on animating this project. If there are any new changes or small additions to be made towards this project, post them now before I send my new announcement informing the writing room staff that I will begin creating the animation.

It can't be too long, that means don't add to many characters, items or details, that I would have to animate which will force me to spend to much time on it. Keep it simple. That's why I choose two characters and a ball as the starting scenario because all I would have to do is animate are those three things. It's short and simple and may be less than 2 minutes and 30 something seconds. Just be careful about how much you wan to add. I'm will have to chop your ideas in half, downsizing it a little to fit within the time frame and simplicity.

Title : The Red Ball
Created By: Chibigurla
Written By: Chibigurla Echo Penn
Animated By: Echo Penn
A bunny and cat are playing with a big red ball. They throw the ball back and forth to one another. The bunny forcefully throws the ball towards the cat. The cat was so excited, that her claws came out puncturing the ball. The ball stops and deflates slowly as the cat threw the big red ball towards the bunny. The cat is sad. The bunny formulates and idea and quickly runs off ! The bunny returns with tape, gloves and a pump. The bunny tapes the holes, pumps the ball. "Good as new!" ( no voiced acting, just a scene of the bunny holding the ball in the air) The bunny puts gloves on the cat's paws. The cat is happy. The bunny throws the ball at the cat. While holding the ball, the cat grew with excitement, squeezing the ball real hard, forcing the big red ball to launch into the bunny's face.
The End.

That was just a small example of how a script can be written so everyone can understand the idea concept of what's being presented. I broke down Chibigurla's idea to it's simplest form, making sure any action that is being taken place by the characters are easy to imagine and it's gets straight to the point.
That's not all that needs to be done to complete this script!
Next is the really fun part.
Designing the characters. Creating a setting for the characters to play in. I already figured they would be tossing the big red ball around in a backyard. Maybe with a little brown tool shed behind the bunny so when the bunny goes to get items she needs to repair the ball, she can just retrieve them from the tool shed, lol. Anyway that's what I was imagining when I was revising the script. I also need to know what color are the characters? Do we have a blue bunny and a green cat? Do one of them wear a shirt? Do either of them wear pants? Or are they both in their birthday suits like most cartoon animals are, lol.
The final part of the script is setting up how everything is going to look!

I was just thinking that maybe that after the bunny gets smacked on the face with the ball the cat is shocked and runs over to the bunny and tears up. The bunny sits up scratching it's head. Blushing, the bunny shows that it is okay and pats the cat's back and gets another brilliant idea (lightbulb over head). The bunny runs off and gets another ball but a smaller one (also red). But then the cat throws it too far and hits something in the distance. It doesn't have to show what it hits but it can make some sort of shattering noise. The cat is now super gloomy because he keeps ruining their fun. The bunny continues to try and please him with a smile but a sweat drop on it's head. Then it can show the bunny running back and forth to the cat and back to the shed or out of the picture but all you hear is chaos happening. In the end the bunny is laying on the ground out of breath. There is a huge mess around them (Including the shed that you speak of in the other post, is messed up and broken). The cat walks over to the bunny sadly and meows. The cat sees a button next to the button and because it was red and glowing (cats are attracted to red lazers. They like to follow the red dot.) The cat crouches low and the bunny realized what he was going to do so he frantically tried to stop him but it was too late. The cat pounces onto the red button and there is a huge explosion. The bunny and cat are sitting there with big wide open eyes and the bunny coughs out. The cat meows nervously with a sweat drop on it's head and the bunny looks at him with annoyance. Then that would be the end. If it's too much you can just not add it. smile

I was just thinking of having the bunny and cat in their birthday suit. That's how real animals should be. lol. The bunny can be white and the cat can be black or grey. As for the setting, I was also picturing a backyard. I wasn't thinking of the shed to be there but that's a good idea. I was just thinking of having the bunny run out of the frame and then come back with all these new objects. But whatever is easier for you. haha. I was also picturing some sort of picket fence. A brown one though. obviously with nice grass and some flowers here and there, maybe even a tree. smile
