⌘ Noctis Cheney ⌘ ✬ Shadow Dragon Slayer ✬  ☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅ The walk to the diner hadn't been too far, and rather nice. It was nice to mess have some fun with his friends. Although, he was walking ahead of the two girls to collect his thoughts and prepare himself for any questions either of the two might have especially Evie. It was a rather long day after having to deal with the headache that was Raine. It was nice to get out of the guild for a bit for him to calm down. The boy had other reasons for wanting to get out of the place. He already made steps to making amends with Kaya. Noctis promised himself that he would start attempting to reconnect with those he cared for, which required baby steps. The slayer would be laying if he wasn't feeling anxious for multiple reasons, but he wanted to push forward even if only an inch. It also helped that Evie's enthusiasm could calm most people down or just brighten their day. The boy reached into a satchel that was covered by his cloak and felt a couple of items that he wanted to give out to the girls. Noctis had already given Kaya hers earlier at the forest, which reminded him that he would need to get in contact with her again soon. Hearing the bell ring from the door snapped him back to his sense as he quickly pulled his hand out of the pocket. "This year has be a rather interesting one that's for sure. Makes me wonder what else is in store this year." Noctis smiled at a waitress before asking for a booth for the three of them. The atmosphere was nice and quiet along with some music being played in the background.
The shadow slayer sat in one of the booths and scooted over all the way in case Rosa or Evie wanted to sit next to him. "I'll have some tea, and whatever these two would like. Although, if I remember correctly. Evie you probably would like a strawberry panna cotta? Am I right?" He ordered before the waitress would look at the two to wait for their order. Noctis waited for the two girls to get their orders before smiling a bit at them. The young man shifted his head a bit to move his hair in order for both of his eyes to be visible. "So, Evie I talked to Rosa a bit already, so how have you been, and what have you been up to?" Notis tilted his head in curiosity as a playful glint could be seen in his eyes. "Besides never touching your sweets. That obviously hasn't changed. You still seem as enthusiastic as ever, plus still got that sweet tooth." His violet eyes studied the girl for a few seconds before snapping his fingers. "Well your hair has gotten a bit longer, but overall you look like you're doing great." Noctis took off his cloak before putting it between him and the wall. His hand dug into his satchel, before pulling out two packages that were both wrapped. "Oh, and once you ask me your questions. I got you two a little something....it's um a sort of apology gift for being gone for so long....especially regarding with you Evie. I haven't really given you a great opportunity to really catch up with me lately among other things...I'm sure there are things we should catch up with when it's just you and me. Rosa....well I know I can be jerkish with you or...have been for reasons that are my fault and not yours, but I am trying. You have my word on that." His eyes looked back at them with a bit of a remorseful smile. "Just know...I am trying to change and fix myself? It's just taking time unfortunately. I still have a ways to go I think....but maybe we can have this be an official start over?" He was still afraid of things he wanted to keep secret for the time being, but he wanted to work through everything properly. Running away from his fear and issues hadn't solved anything if anything made them worse. A part of him really did want to start over again even if he couldn't go back to the way it used to be a long time ago.

Rosa. Rosa the alarm is going off.
Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off... Rosa walked into the diner with a smile on her face. The walk over had been thankfully uneventful, without any awful emotions or thoughts flitting by on their way. It was refreshing, just basking in Evie's unbridled positivity and eagerness to see Noctis again. It was heavenly, even. Still... thoughts of gifts being given flitted across Noctis's mind and Rosa had to stifle herself from scolding herself out loud. She didn't know what the gifts were, or to who, or why or when, thankfully. She had to shake her head to clear the thoughts that weren't her own, and was happy when the bell rang out as they entered. Just as it seemed to clear Noctis's head, so too did it clear hers. As Noctis sat down, she slid in next to him with a grin. It was time to see if she could fluster him back... but how? " Aaahhh... ummm... Cherry Coke please? Thanks!" She waited for Evie to confirm or deny the order that Noctis had assumed for her, and glanced as the waitress walked off to deliver their drink order. She was cute, but not quite her type. Eh... I'd give her a six out of ten. A bit above average, but nothing really special...Oh god you're awful...Don't give me that! You looked too!Did not! Oh yes you did! You think her legs look soft!...okay, you win, but shut up.HA! Fat chance kiddo!Rosa managed not to let any of the argument leak out verbally, but she did smirk a little, though she was confident she could pass that off as being in a good mood, getting to get away from Raine. Though, Noctis threw her a curve ball once he pulled out the gifts and handed them out to each of their recipients. Of course, he had to open his big mouth and offer an explanation and ruin it a little. It was a touching apology, and she was about ready to open the box until he got to the words 'start over'. The redhead gently set the box down and turned her body in the booth to face Noctis, her face void of expression or emotion. Without warning, she slapped him gently but quickly across the face. Before he had a chance to react, she leaned forward and put her hand on the cheek she slapped, and then kissed the back of that hand, using a fraction of her soul to heal the red mark she left. " Nocci, dude... jerk or not, guarded or not, trying to fix yourself or whatever... that's all you. I accept you for who you are because of the memories we have together. I know you're rarely trying to just be mean, if ever, and I never really hold it against you for long. There's nothing with me you need to start over, dumbass." She was grinning, happy with herself, and hopefully having gotten her revenge for when he flustered her earlier. " What I mean to say is... even the rude parts of your personality are something I've come to accept. I value the memories and experiences we've had together enough that I don't think a 'clean start' is even remotely necessary." Inside her mental landscape, Rosa was blushing furiously and mildly freaking out. Oh my god Rosa what the ******** did you just do?! AAAAHHHHH!!!!A swift kick to the back of her head, firm and precise in it's delivery. I DUNNO, WHAT DID YOU DO?!It's okay, I didn't actually kiss him! T-t-technically...I am so mad and surprised and proud of you and I don't know which one is winning out!!Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.

   The walk was rather nice, chatting a bit here and there while they approached the building. The music playing in the background was quite enjoyable when Evie stepped inside. It had been a while since she came into the diner, probably about the last time Noctis was around. Evie became quite busy so she rarely stepped foot into the little place since then. The waitress showed them to their booth, Noctis and Rosa sat on the same side so Evie slid in the other seat. She smiled at the two, though was taken aback a bit by Noctis remembering her favorite dessert here. "You remembered my favorite dessert? It's been a while." She smiled at the two, then the waitress. "I'll also just take some ice water."
Noctis asked how she was, her blue eyes moved from him to Rosa and back. "Well like I mentioned earlier, I got that newer technique down pat.. pretty much anyway. I have to still perfect it but I'm getting there. And yeah Rosa has been helping me with sword fighting so I'm getting better on reflexes with that." She rambled off. Evie laughed a bit, "Yeah, still have the sweet tooth. Oh and yeah my hair is a bit longer for sure. I should get it cut but, I kinda like it." She brushed her hand through her bangs. Before looking down at the wrapped package and her head tilted to the side slightly.
Evie gave a little glare, though it obviously wasn't super threatening like she had hoped it would, "Look, Noctis. You didn't have to get my anything for saying sorry. Its okay, really. Sometimes people just need time to deal with things in their own way. I'll always be here or around for anyone that needs the time and space." Evie gave them both a bright smile. "But you better keep that word. Or else.... I'm not sure what or else there is but, or else!" She puffed up her cheeks a bit to seem intimidating but probably just more cute than anything.

⌘ Noctis Cheney ⌘ ✬ Shadow Dragon Slayer ✬ ☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅ Violet eyes blinked at Evie in confusion at first due to her statement. It didn't seem like something that one would forget, but it has been a good amount of years. "True, but I remember a young girl loved to drag me to her favorite place when we were kids to get her favorite dessert, plus when we met years later again in that town you kinda did the same thing once we realized it was each other again. At this point it's engraved into my mind, but that's alright with me. Just get to treat you when I can is all." He smiled back while listening to her talk abut her training. People may sometimes see Evie as naive or clueless, but she was a lot more intuitive then she let on. Sword fighting was something that took a bit of a backseat. Rosa was the better blade master between him and her, but Evie was probably better than him as well. Noctis knew different forms, but he wasn't really proficient with any one particular one. Instead he combined what he knew to do a more unique style of sword play. "Well guess we'll have to team up sometime soon huh?"
After he was done explaining the gifts and the apology he had watched Rosa start to open her gift. His eyes drifted to Evie to see if she was about to open it. The slayer was about to explain what the gifts where before he felt a slap across his face. The pain stung for a bit and caught him off guard as he felt the red heads hand touch the spot, before the pain disappeared. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed that she had leaned in for one purpose or another, but he couldn't clearly thinking properly from the reaction of being slapped. His ears heard her speak her words as his brain was catching up with what had happened. Violet eyes looked at Evie as she spoke as well listening to what he said. Both their eyes were kind, but he was still unsure about a few things. Noctis took a deep breathe before releasing it after the two said their pieces. There was a very light tinge of red on his cheek from the embarrassment he felt, but he fought it back in order to keep some composure as to not let either of the two have the satisfaction. There was a strange sense of payback in the air, but in reality he couldn't really tell if it was just his mind or not.
A light smile could be seen on his face, but it held some regret on it. "Well....the gifts weren't just an apology gift. I've missed a lot it seems. Birthdays and whatnot, plus I got things that just reminded me of everyone and figured I'd do a little something regardless. You two may not need a clean start, but I do. With myself and everyone or at least....some sort of new beginning. I have a few things in mind, but nothing is set in stone after all." Noctis left it at that before gesturing to the gifts. "Anyways, hope you two like the gifts. I had them enchanted so they're more durable than normal. Just some things that reminded me of you two or that would fit you. I can get them returned if you don't like them at least....and Evie I will do my best to keep my word." He didn't want to delve more into his thoughts for the time being seeing as the boy wanted to actually enjoy his time with the two. The confused thoughts that were plaguing his mind as he tried to ignore them in favor of the present. "The truth is that I'm afraid to get some semblance of myself. I'm....scared of myself. That I don't really know who Noctis is anymore. I sometimes feel as if I'm faking being me or just scared to be what I was meant to be. In all honesty, I'm lost...and I don't know if I can actually find my way back. That I'm just prolonging the inevitable. Death and sorrow seem to love to follow me, but for them, for my parents....I need to try as long as I can. Even if it is just a lie in the end."
Noctis mentally shook off his thoughts and distracted himself a bit more when the waitress came back with their order prompting him to smile and thank the women as he took a sip from the glass of ice tea. He waited a bit for them to actually look at the items, try them on, or exam them as well as let them know their thoughts regarding them. At this point he was just waiting for them to ask questions of their own. His travels, things that happened, really anything that they wanted to ask the slayer would do his best to answer. Evie would probably want to soon continue the training regarding what he was trying to teach her and Kaya. The boy wouldn't be surprised if Rosa questioned him about how strong he had gotten or for even a sparring match eventually. It would be nice seeing some things had stayed the same or similar to the amount of changes he had to deal with so far.

Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off... Rosa's exasperated sigh joined the conversation gently but firmly from the side. " Nocci, dude... I get it. I needed a fresh start after getting uuuhhh... mostly sober, but you were saying it like you needed a whole new start to everything... and it pissed me off because our experiences are all precious, good or bad. And I just... ugh... I dunno man. Sorry for slapping you." Without much warning, the redheaded teen leaned her head onto his shoulder gently for a couple seconds before sitting upright again. " With the addendum of this being a late gift for birthdays and such, I will accept it gratefully. Thank you Nocci. I've got a couple things I figured you'd like ferreted away at home. I'll find them and give them to you soon." She smiled at his embarrassment widely, enjoying the sensation of revenge well taken. As she turned her attention to the box before her, Rosa could feel the magic inside it. It wasn't the strongest out there, but it was stable, well built, and radiated the confidence of it's caster. Opening it slowly, Rosa saw the beautiful necklace inside it. The silver and jewels caught the light of the diner and the sunlight from the window beautifully, reflecting it with dazzling and stunning quality. Despite herself, Rosa found herself blushing and reaching out to touch the intricate craftsmanship before her. The feelings of the craftsmen who shaped the metal and cut the gem. Pride, tiredness, contentedness... typical of jewelers. Twinned with them, however, or maybe overlaid, were Noctis's own. His desire to bridge gaps. To show his feelings of friendship and reinforce them. To reconnect. To make new bonds with the same people. Good feelings. Her face turned redder and she closed her eyes to gather herself for a minute. Wow... you're really falling for this s**t, huh?Shut up shut up shut uuuuuuup!!!Rosa again leaned her head to Noctis's shoulder, holding it there for a moment before leaning away and picking the necklace gently from its case. " Thank you, it's beautiful..." Her hands quickly undid the clasp and brought it up to her neck before redoing the clasp. She slid it into place beneath her shirt, right beside the cross necklace she never went without. " I love it." Practically crimson were her cheeks. Not a ******** word, Carmi. Not a ******** word.Sorry, what was that? Couldn't hear you over the sound of you swooning like a school girl! HAH!!!Here, Rosa finally noted that Evie seemed mostly oblivious to the affection Noctis seemed to have for her. How the girl seemed as oblivious to affection as a whole, really. It was charming and adorable, in a way. Her attempts to intimidate Nocci were stunningly cute. " Or else you'll kick his butt?" It was also comforting that her friend hadn't grown up yet. She always found herself wanting to protect that innocence with all her heart. However, Noctis was on the other end of that equation. He was lost in change. Lost in uncertainty. Fearing that home was gone. Something else he'd lost along his way. He needed that stability from Evie. From Rosa herself, too. Fearful of not knowing himself. Before she realized what she was doing, and well beyond her ability to stop herself, Rosa spoke up. " Fear doesn't suit you Nocci... Oh. s**t. Uuuuuhhhh... I mean... how about a spar after lunch? It's been too long since I got to kick you in the ribs or something! What do you say? I win and you finally let me cook you dinner! You win, and I'll... huh. What do you want if you win?" She seemed nervous and apologetic about having read his emotions, and absentmindedly touched her new necklace through her shirt. Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.

Evie laughed a little bit, “True I did do that as a kid, just surprising you remembered since it had been a while before reuniting. But yeah I did drag you around a lot. I just got super excited to see you again after so long.” She took a sip of her ice water while Rosa opened her gift first. It was a sweet gesture that he did but he didn’t have to get Evie anything, though she wouldn’t lie to say she wasn’t curious what it was he got her. Though she was taken aback as Rosa smacked Noctis across the face. Evie sat there a bit with wide eyes, but softened once Rosa kissed the back of her pam that kept its place on his cheek. A smile pulled at the edges of her lips as she watched their interaction.
Noctis went on to explain about the gifts. “He did this for birthdays and holidays as well?” She thought, feeling a slight ping in her chest about it. It wasn’t his fault he missed things over the years, he needed his own time to figure whatever it was he needed out. She couldn’t possibly hold that against him. Even if this was him wanting a new, fresh start. Carefully she opened up the gift he gave her. A bracelet with a small bear charm on it, she smiled brightly while she looked down at it. She looked up at him once he spoke her name, she was glad he would at least attempt to keep his word. That’s all she really needed.
Evie watched Rosa lean against his shoulder and wondered how long it was that she barely noticed Rosa might actually like him. If she was oblivious at some things, it was when people liked each other. She never really had much of a love life herself, nor did she know if others liked her back so knowing those types of signals always flew over her head. Evie pulled the bracelet out of its box and slipped it on her left wrist. “Thank you Noctis. It's really cute.”
She took a sip of her water again before she giggled at Rosa’s question. “Yeah maybe I will kick his butt.” Evie stuck out her tongue at the two before the waitress brought them their orders. The blush haired mage picked up her spoon and slowly dug into her panna cotta dessert. The taste of strawberries rolled over her taste buds and sent her into a heavenly state. She smiled at Rosa mentioning to spar him after lunch. It would be quite fun to watch the two of them have a little fight though it was only if Noctis agreed to it.
She did notice Rosa speak the word fear to him, and it made Evie wonder what might have him worried or scared. She never really saw Noctis as the type of guy to feel that way, but then again everyone had a fear; at least that is what Elliot always told her. Evie took another spoonful of her dessert awaiting his answer and she remembered something. “Oh yeah, Master Vel wanted to speak to you and I when we got back, Noctis. He told me to tell you before I left the hall.”

⌘ Noctis Cheney ⌘ ✬ Shadow Dragon Slayer ✬ ☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅☪❅ A light upward curve tugged at his lips as they opened up the gifts and examined them. They seemed to have liked it and was about to respond to Evie's thanks when Rosa leaned against him the second time he was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable. He had gotten desensitized to physical gestures of friendly affection over his time alone. Even from those that he was close to. He wasn't sure how to properly act sometimes if such acts keep happening in a consistent manner. Subconsciously he had reached his comfortable tolerance but held it in. It had nothing to do with the people, but more so himself. Internally, deep within his mind and heart there were doubts that he deserved such signs from anyone. Rosa had been skirting the lines of that for him, but he didn't let him affect it to as not give the wrong impression to either of the girls. "Uh....you're both welcome." His response was light before Noctis cleared his throat as the waitress came with their order. The boy brought the cup to his lips to drink some of the liquid to give him a buffer real quick, before setting it back down. "I honestly thought you'd be more excited about yours as well Evie. You get excited about bears especially of the teddy variety." It was playful jab in retort to the comment of kicking his butt.
"But I'm sure if you really wanted to you could easily do such a thing. Doesn't mean i wouldn't make it a challenge for either of you." He relented a bit in favor of the two. The last thing he needed was to be teamed up against by the two of them. The conversations were going nice, the constant physical contact from Rosa was a bit weird considering he just got back and she tended to use the more physically violent against him. He chalked it up to her just missing him but being her stubborn headed self wouldn't openly admit it. His eyes were looking at his drink with his hands around the cup when Rosa mentioned fear causing his eye to widen ever so slightly, but neither of two would be able to see. Rosa would be hard pressed to see due to her positioning to him with his hair covering his face, but his shoulders ever so slightly tensed along with his jaw, before it quickly went back to it's regular state. Hearing Rosa offer a spar and a boon for winning along with the tone in her voice it was obvious she didn't want to approach the subject. Violet eyes looked up at Evie when she brought up the master.
The boy stayed silent for a bit before releasing a sigh. "I wonder what the old man wants with me. I guess he wanted to let me cool off before talking to me...." Noctis turned to Rosa seeing her demeanor. It seemed his body language was unfortunately more telling than he thought. Which meant not only she, but Evie might have realized something was amiss with him. His eyes glanced at the pink haired girl during this thought, before back to the red head. He didn't respond at first to her offer and instead brought his hand up to her, before flicking Rosa in the forehead with a bit of force. It was a bit of payback for the slap, although a small friendly smile was on his face as he did it. "Maybe next time? I'd rather not fight today and just.....enjoy my time back with some peace. Plus, it seems Master Vel would like to have a word with me for one reason or another. But seeing as you won't win regardless, For your punishment for the slap and the audacity of wanting to ruin my day of peace with a spar, you have to allow Ale dress you up in whatever she wants to regardless of what it is when you lose." His hands clasped together with an innocent yet evil smile donned his lips "That means outfit, hair, or any make-up she wants to do. Whatever she wants to do. It could be a little or all out, but you have to be the one to ask her to do it. That means no bringing this bet up because knowing Ale she might take it easy on you. It's a free pass for her, and a sorta.....welcome back gift for her as well. It stays on for the day and you have to deal with it. With that means no physical retaliation to anyone that gives you a compliment or anything like that. Those are the terms to a future spar if you want to try and get me to eat your food, which won't happen."
Noctis finished his tea, before standing up to stretch a little. He left the money that was owed on the table plus a good tip with change was left over, before looking at Evie. "We probably should make our way back to the Master. Old he may be but scary he is. I'd rather not keep him waiting and just enjoy the rest of my day without having to deal with more unexpected surprises like what happened back at the guild." The young man realized something, before snapping his fingers, then turning to look at Rosa. "Oh a couple of more things, if you don't show up to the guild or I don't see you when you have to hold up your end of the deal for losing I want proof. That means taking a picture with Ale or something and showing it as proof. I suspect a knight like yourself will keep her word as far as wearing it for the allotted time. Hell you can make it a girl's date night with Ale for all I care." Noctis gave a friendly smile and wave as he walked away towards the door. "Enjoy your days of freedom." Noctis made it his personal goal to not eat her food mainly due to annoying the younger girl. If she wanted to try and get him to do it then he would put the stakes on the higher end for her if she would lose. He knew that Ale loved trying to dress up the girl in more girly clothing. Rosa was a tomboy through and through, and she gets embarrassed easily when complimented. Him seeing people flirt with her and them, name guys, getting sent flying due to embarrassment wasn't an uncommon sight. Some were obviously sleazy, but it was the genuine ones that made an actual attempt that gave him this information. He was wondering when he'd get to use it against her, and why not as a form of punishment for the slap and offer to fight so soon instead of just enjoying his day.

Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off... It was subtle at first. Gentle. Timid, even. Noctis's discontent at being touched so much. It cried out to be voiced, though Noctis refused to heed it. She let go of his arm and leaned back to sit upright in her seat, free of his side. He needed space and Rosa was damn well going to oblige, this time. She'd had her fun teasing him anyway. As he voiced his pleasure at how much they liked the gifts in his terse way, Rosa nodded and made an appreciative sound. The quip at Evie earned a giggle from the redhead, who sipped gratefully at the coke brought to her by the waitress. " Oh you should have seen her when she saw another build-a-bear being built in Balsam. It was adorable, how excited she was." She choked back a full laugh at the memory and just basked in the joyfully teasing mood at the table. When Noctis decided to show some pride in himself for the first time all day, Rosa found herself mirroring it without even realizing it herself. " I don't know what you've been up against out there, but I haven't been slouching either, Nocci! We're probably still about even with eachother! Hehehe!" Aaaawww... that's cute. Going to have fun punching his face in? Tell me first, I want popcorn! I want to see his dumb face bleed a little!Why are you so mean to him? I mean... I can't talk, honestly, but like, you're a bit of a b***h about it. Look at this nice necklace he got me! And he didn't even do it because he wants to try and get in my pants, no matter what you were going to say......I stand by my view of most men being trash.You're hopeless sometimes...And then Nocci basically called her reasoning for being so touchy without having to open his mouth. The tension ran though his whole being before fading. The flick to her forehead caught her legitimately by surprise, and she recoiled a little, shaking her head to clear the sensation. " Yeah, I'll take a rain check this time. Even you deserve a bit of relaxation before getting your a** kicked again! Hehehe!! Wait. What?" A... dress? Rosa froze, listening indignantly and hesitantly to Noctis's demand if he won. It was... multi layered and well thought out. It was a big demand to ask of her. He knew that, and he was probably counting on her to back out here. Everyone knew she hated dresses. With passion. Not that she hated the things themselves, just wearing them. They felt too drafty and inconvenient to move in. Too open yet restrictive around the knees and hips. Like she couldn't get good legwork going in one. Her stances would be weak and unbalanced, and she hated that. " I... accept. But I add a stipulation that you give me an honest critique of my cooking when I win. No stupid bravado and taunting about how it's not that good after such a long wait, no snarky one liners, and no flattering my ego by telling me it's better than it actually is. Honesty, no more and no less. I like to consider myself an honest chef, and I live to know what I do right and wrong when I cook. So... I accept! Although, coming from anyone but you or Rin, I'd suspect this was just some ploy to see me in something more girly than my usual wardrobe for some ungentlemanly purposes... hehehe!" She waited until Noctis left, and let herself collapse face first onto the table, but held her coke in her hand to prevent it spilling. " Tell me Evie, did you feel something off about Nocci? He seems... worn thin? Exhausted? I can't quite put a finger on it..." She turned her head to look up at her friend across the table curiously, and waited for a reply. Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.

Rosa. Rosa the alarm is going off.
Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off... Rosa rubbed the spot Noctis flicked gently as Evie spoke. It didn't hurt, but the sensation of touching the spot felt nice, for some reason. Like the comfort of a warm blanket on a cold night. It was subtle, but there was a hint of Noctis's tiredness behind the playfulness the action screamed of. She couldn't help herself but smile at it. When Evie admitted even she could tell Noctis was bothered by something, the redhead sighed. He really was very good at hiding what was wrong from most people, but doing that could very easily build up in unsafe ways... though, Evie's reassurance that Noctis could handle himself earned a quick nod and a grin from the redhead. " Yeah, I know... but he's a stubborn git, too. Like me. I just hope he opens up to someone before it gets to be too much for him..." As Evie announced she was leaving, Rosa's expression turned almost sad for a moment. Having her friend around was comforting all on its own. The girl practically radiated warmth and positivity, and staying near her made Rosa feel less lonely and cold. Seeing her leave was always like watching the sunset; saddening for the fact that she would be elsewhere for a time, but comforting in the knowledge that she was on her way to go and brighten someone else's day. She smiled back, as widely as she could. " Hehehe! Yeah, best not keep the old guy waiting. Yep! Be safe Evie sweetie... and... yeah, I know. It's just how I am, to worry about everyone. Don't worry, I won't stress about it too much. I promise." She watched Evie go, and followed her path for as far as the windows would allow. As soon as her friend was out of sight, Rosa faceplanted onto the table gently, her face a giant red blur. She'd been powerless to try and comfort him, it seemed. Evie knew him best, and was glad they had eachother around. It was nice, having someone around who knew you so well. I wonder where Ale is and what she's up to... or Kaya... or Rin... or Frieda... or hell, even what Uncle Owain is up to... Before she could stop herself, Rosa was reaching out her empathy, following and trying to lock onto Evie and Noctis. The lunch hour rush outside did not make it easy, and she immediately regretted her decision as the headache began to spread across her temple. Still, it was worth it for a few more seconds of Evie's positivity. And she was not disappointed by it when she found it, bright and warm as when she'd left a few moments ago. There were tinges of other emotions, subtly changing the light around the edges of Evie's glowing core: but they didn't even cast a shadow on her natural brightness. Selfish as it was, Rosa couldn't resist trying to bask in that feeling a few moments longer. However, Noctis's tiredness was an unexpectedly... subtle contrast? It was hard to pin down, but it didn't seem to clash with or be immediately washed away by Evie's simple joy. It called to Rosa to listen. To follow its lead and just lay down. To sleep and forget. She felt bad, knowing Noctis was carrying something that made him so tired. A burden he couldn't share yet. But... Evie was right. He would do so before it became too much for him. He was certainly smarter than Rosa was in that regard. He knew himself better than he thought, and a lot better than she knew herself, she felt. A growing pain in her eyebrows snapped her away from the people she was feeling for, and before she could try to establish a new link, the crowd swallowed up their presences, and she lost them. They were still within range of her, she could tell that much. But not for much longer, and she couldn't follow where they were or even how far away within that mile they were. That's enough, Rosa. Come on, let them have their time alone, you little stalker... With a sigh, she pulled back her attention to her sense of self, and focused on her own heart. They deserved to have eachother's company. They legitimately made eachother happy, it seemed. It was good to see. Not in the same way Rin and Ale made eachother happy, or how Rin and Kaya made eachother happy. They weren't enamored with eachother that she could tell from their surface emotions, and they didn't quite seem to feel like the other was their sibling. It was close to normal friendship, but deeper. The definition of it baffled and eluded the empath as she sat there, rubbing the sides of her forehead. Evie's positivity was as bright as ever, and took some edge off of the coming migraine, but was not enough to stave it off entirely. Subconsciously, she twirled the orchid streak in her hair with a finger, finding comfort in the action. She reached into her purse with the other hand and pulled out a couple pain killers to try and dull the coming ache in her skull. She opened the foil and plastic package with a practiced motion and popped the pills into her mouth, then reached out and downed them with the remnants of her coke. She sat there silently for a couple of minutes, her eyes closed and her breathing slow. Maybe I'll go home for a bit... let this s**t wear off... With a silent nod to herself, Rosa stood and pulled some jewel from her wallet. She counted out an amount equal to the tip Noctis left and left it on the table next to his money. Without hesitating much longer, she turned and walked outside, then around to the back of the restaurant. She needed the quiet and relative isolation to focus on her teleportation spell for a few moments. After she finished building the energy up, Rosa vanished with a loud popping sound, leaving behind the eatery and the two friends somewhere else in town. She hoped they would have a good day until she saw them again. [[Exit Rosa.]] Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.
No. Tired. Lemme sleep.
