Here is the thread for everyone to say hello and post your personal gallery. Welcome to new members as well!



I'll get things started since I never officially introduced myself.

My name is Stacy and I'm 23 years old. I live in New England, and I'm still learning photography. I work for a photography company doing school photos, but it's not really like real photography. I do it for fun in my spare time mostly, and my favorite things to take pictures of are people and animals.

I have a gallery at DeviantArt, but there site seems to be down at the moment, so I'll post my link later on.

Im from New Zealand, (Yes where lord of the bloody rings was and no I dont know Peter Jackson, but I do know a lady who was a black rider.)
NZ is a very senic sort of country, so im mostly inspired by nature.

I did a black and white coarse in school, its still my favorate style. I have a little cyber-shot now, I like the easy acsess but I miss the darkroom. I like to photoshop and If I had a computer right now I would be updateing my dev gallery every day.

I'm Mary, a seventeen-year-old born-and-raised Texan.
I predominately shoot with an Aiptek PocketCam X, which, while hardly amazing, does pretty well, nonetheless. I also use my Samsung film camera from time to time.

This cranky old fart likes photos, which tell stories or have a message inside them (read; anything goes). I have started to dislike photographing as a way to express yourself, because people keeps it little bit too easy and they think that the art is considered just about the one, who took the picture (which leads sooner or later to pure idiotism). I appreciate progress photographing (studing the theme and the place), the compositions and the phrase "Look your photos in the way you haven't seen them before". Also high selfcritisism is always appreciated thing.

Hi, my name is Jen. I'm from Florida (will be from Kentucky in August XD). I'm 18 and a freshman in college.

I've looked into photography when I got my first camera for graduation but I really didn't get into it until closer to Fall '05. SO I'm fairly new but i learn fast.

I main;y photograph children (one day I'll have my own studio) but sometimes I'll do nature and portraits (of people who are not children).

Hi my name is Sarah I'm 25. I am a big fan of photography, I do alot more looking than doing at the moment however. (Unless you count the fact that I take pictures of my kids almost everday xd ). Hallo All. My name's Liam,

I am 30 years old and am a Chicago based freelance Art Director and Photographer. I've been shooting since I got my first camera (YashicaMat 124) at the age of 10. I am mostly hired to shoot architecture, but I also do a fair amount of product and studio still life shots. Most of these are shot with either my Wisner traditional 4x5, or my Horseman VHR (if I want to use roll film).

For my personal work I tend to shoot portraits, street photography and city/landscapes. So I either carry around my Rolleiflex E3 (2.8 planar) or I've got a couple of beat up Nikon d100's.

I've got a mixed bag of randomness up on Photo.net: http://www.photo.net/photos/rogue_designer as well as a DA account in my sig. Keeping my pro site underwraps until I finish the redesign.

Hey Friends! My name is Rachana, I'm an Indo-Canadian, 17y and studying in grade 11. Photography has been my line of interest since a long time. But I'm an absolute newbie to it. I purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC W5 DigiCam (5.1MegPix) very recently, and I'm practising with it.
Apart from that, I have an Asahi Pentax MX (~17y old) and also a Sony Digital Handycam DCR TRV720 NTSC (~6y old). Both are still in perfect form and running well ^_^
I love taking pics of anything around me that has good lighting effects (hehe, NOTE: I'm not too good at it!). And I love photographing nature, still life and anything at random.
I'd very much like to get comments/criticisms of my photos from the members of this Guild! Since I'm a complete newbie (just started on 22nd of April!), I really need comments to improve.
As for other stuff about me, I'm an amateur Violinist, and I'm passionate about Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics and Environmental Sciences. My ambition is to become an Aerospace Engineer.

Hey! I'm a high school senior this year, graduating in June. xd I first became really interested in photography in 10th grade, but didn't really improve much until this year lol (and I'm still not the best but who cares, I'm trying anyways). In any case, I'm hoping to become good enough to make it part of my career (whatever that will be) so I'm definately going to take as many classes as I can when I'm in college. I like black-and-white film the best, but take more digital photographs because of the convenience. sweatdrop I promise to have a gallery up ASAP, but I think I should shrink down the size of my pictures first. They're just a little big lol.

I'm 14'd, nearly 15 in June. I'm a passionate photographer, mainly self portrait but I'm willing to do anyone else's, seeing as everyone I see these days is absolutely stunning. I'm into shooting strange/depressing shots but I also like to take my part of 'smile-able' ones, but this is a working progress.

I used to love coming on here last year but I had some problems... and i lost my photographic touch... and so I had no willpower to do it. Recently, I've geared myself up and I think I'm doing quite well for 14.

The photographs I like the most are the ones with a story inside it. Where you look in it and see someone's life. Also, I'm a sucker for 'strange' photographs, where some people don't like the disturbed, it just intrigues me more. The other 'genre' of photographs I like, are the ones that make you go, Wow. The ones where you think about all the hard work that has gone into it, and just think... That's one of a kind. Those are real photographs to me.
