See my family of 5. Only my mother is Jehovah Witness (JW). She became when i was 9 or 10 and since then we dont do much for christmas and birthdays. However before i was 9 we did celebrate.
So if we do want something, we save up for ourselves.
Now I celebrate with my mum's family, so her mum, my aunty & uncle and their kids aka my cousins, for christmas.
On the other hand my father's family live so far away like 5 hours away so i dont see them much let alone for christmas. My father's siblings are scattered around Australia or in a different country and at the end of the day, my mother told them to stop giving us gifts even tho my siblings and I had no opinion in the matter. So i only get cards for my mum&dad parents & my mum's brother&sister.
Also what also makes is crazy is my dad's dad he is the oldest of 11 and ALL his brothers&sisters are JW's except him this is because my grandfather's mother was a JW.
At the end of the day I dont care for the gifts.I just see it as a opportunity for a whole family get to together yet it so rare is it disappointing. I dont see much of my extended family as i want too. :facepalm:

Well see I moved house when I was 9 and there go door to door and that's how my mother got in touch with them but during that period my mother was going through a hard time. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. So i see it as faith and helped her through even tho I disapproved some of the rules they preach. It pretty much christianity yet they think god's name is Jehovah and they dont think Jesus was born on christmas so they dont celebrate.
Because I was young when she started I couldnt stay home till i was in my teens. I went for 3 years and hated every minute of it. Was the longest 2 hours of my life. :facepalm:
My dad doesn't mind but at times when he pissed he yells about them. Out of frustration mainly.
I know right. God i love the food that time of the year and then there is leftovers the next day for lunch :drool:
I didnt get the celebrate last year because I had no way getting down to my mum's grandparents house. I have no license and my dad was working and siblings were out doing there own thing. SO i missed out. Im sad now because my grandfather pissed in september and as his last christmas and i missed it. :(

I am temporarily unlocking the thread (please keep in mind that I have copies of each page). I will not permit new entries (with the exception of those voided due to header error), just edits to existing ones. Please check to make sure that your post has the following:
1. A low-luck modifier clearly for ONE particular couple; every post should have exactly one or it will be like you never entered these slots (see here for explanation)
2. An "unedited?:" line in your post. The "Unedited?" line is how I count how many couples you have and it will be how I will determine how many there will be for rolling. It is necessary even if you have the appropriate header and even if all your couples are edited.
3. Twin/triplet information. This is necessary because it lets me assess my workload while rolling, and may convince me to take on an extra slot. Or not. Maybe. It depends. Either way, please include this or you or others could lose out.
4. No more than 10 couples entered.
5. Twist forms completely filled. Remember that if you have fewer than 5 options listed out of the 21 on the twist form, you run a very high risk of not getting any twists.
6. Each form (each quote box, i.e. {quote="1: pair names here"}) must be numbered sequentially, not {quote="1: pair one"}, {quote="1: pair two"}, {quote="1: pair three"}, etc.
7. A correct header. Those with incorrect headers need to void and repost. Please do not change couples past this point; those who do will risk being disqualified. Those who I have contacted ahead of time (due to mix-ups, extenuating circumstances, etc.) may still add couples to their posts. They know who they are.
8. Links that are not broken/lead somewhere.
I am opening these slots only to allow those who have notes beside their names -- or haven't been thoroughly checked yet -- to make corrections!
Please note: I will not accept new entries (or entries posted after the closing time in the first post, to allow for sufficient checking time). However, AstoriaFallen (proxying for DNS) has express permission to continue despite the late post due to 1) DNS' extenuating circumstances and 2) asking for permission in advance of closing, and 3) the fault lies on me as I could not respond to the message in sufficient time.
