"Love you too, Doom," Isto replied, warm smile returning. "See you in a few minutes." And he ended the call, setting the phone aside to focus on the icy roads.
It was only a short drive to the old HQ, and Isto made it without incident, parking out front and automatically tightening his jacket before heading around back to the lake and, presumably, Slush.

Slush was on the banks of the lake, hands stuffed in his pockets and scarf wrapped tightly around his neck as he gazed off into the distance. He didn't hear Isto coming, being lost in his own thoughts.

Slush's shock of pink hair gave him away immediately and, quietly as possible he stepped over, catching Slush in a hug from behind once he reached him. Flashing a cheeky grin, he rested his chin on his husband's shoulder, arms remaining looped around his waist. "Happy anniversary, lovely."

The Skullmonkey purred when he felt Isto's arms around him, leaning back into his husband before tilting his head to the side to press his lips to Isto's jawline. "Hey beautiful, happy anniversary."

"Can't believe it's been a year..." A year. A whole year, and...only a year. A first anniversary was always special, naturally, but it was only a year. But at the same time... A year to a SkullMonkey was a lifetime, practically. When you grew to adult in only a few months, a year of marriage seemed like so much longer.
After lightly nuzzling Slush's neck in reply, he straightened up somewhat with a soft sigh, eyes wandering the frozen lake. "Everything out of nothing... Who would've thought?"

"Time flies when you're having fun... Or lots of good sex." Slush grinned cheekily back at Isto before turning in his arms and stealing a kiss, pulling his hands out of his pockets to wrap around his husband's neck. "Everything happens for a reason..."

He laughed, flashing a toothy grin in return. "And times seems that much longer when four toddlers prevent said sex." That explained the lifetime feeling, anyway. Grin softening to a warm smile, he gave Slush a quick squeeze, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Mmhmm. Now we just have to hope the next year's as good as the last."

"True... Things will only get better my love." Leaning upwards, Slush pressed his lips to Isto's, lightly at first and then deeper before pulling away and smirking. "I think we have some 'redecorating' to do in the center don't you?"

"Only get better.." Isto echoed quietly, cut off and pulled back to the present with the kiss. Reluctantly parting when Slush pulled back, he quirked a brow and chuckled, shaking his head in mock despair. "You're never going to grow up, are you?"
Without waiting for a reply, he pulled free of Slush's embrace and, bending, scooped him into his arms and headed into the center. The HQ had been moved across the lake, and this building had been all but abandoned for a few months now. They would have lal the time they needed.

 Meeting Callix. Lucifer Force Luciel yawned, shifting her daughter's weight in her arms. It had been a few days after she had been officially single, and getting out of the house was the best medicine for the illness at this time. Nephilim opened her eyes and blinked. They were coming up on a huge manor Nephilim had never seen before. Callix, however, happened to remember who lived here. The confusing one! Boy or girl bird-thing! Lu watched him carefully form the corner of her eye and he carefully walked up the rest of the way. Reaching up from beneath the weight of the diaper bag, Lu rang the doorbell. She hoped Miss X was home. XBear X was in fact, not inside, but had heard the doorbell from where she had been situated around the house. Her footsteps in the snow became louder as she closed the distance between her and the front stoop. Soon it was clear why she was outside, and upon seeing the children, X took her cigarette and snuffed it out on the inside of her wrist, hissing slightly.
"May I help you?" The vampire could hardly remember this woman's name, but it was obvious that it was another guardian by the looks of the child. The baby however, wasn't in the least bit recognizable. Lucifer Force Lu's face lit up. "Miss X! Sorry about dropping by so suddenly. I was hoping we could visit for a while?" Callix looked up at the woman. He remembered her. Had the boy-girl-bird. He smiled up at her, though she didn't look interested in the least. Nephilim simply stared at X, pondering something in her infantile mind. "I hope I'm not intruding or anything." XBear "No you're fine, I was just outside for a smoke... Don't like to smoke around children and Jack doesn't like it." Pauses momentarily before heading through them to the front door, opening it, and then gesturing them inside. "I'm afraid I do not know where everyone is at this precise moment, but you may have a seat in the living room by the fire... Warm up."
With that, the vampire seemingly disappeared in thin air. Lucifer Force Lu blinked, sniffing the air after Miss X's disappearance. She had no idea people like her could just poof! Strange. Shrugging, Lu led Callix over to the fire. The snow outside was indeed frightful, making her legs and arms tingle with chill. Callix didn't seem affected by it, growing more curious about their hostess' disappearance. His Guardian couldn't do that... "I wonder where everyone is..." Nephilim was asleep by now, but that wasn't uncommon. Once she was warm and comfortable, she would be relatively quiet. The Fa'e child tugged at Lu's loose shirt. "Fille?" His Guardian shook her head, the little French she knew not aiding her. XBear Soon footsteps could be heard, and then voices, one male and one female, the latter louder and more like a child's than the former. Minutes later, Slush poked his head around the corner and grinned, striding in with Tourmaline piggy-backing quite happily.
The toddler's eyes grew wide at the sight of the trio in their livingroom. Hey! New people! AND two out of three of them were her age! Awesome.
"Hello!" She chirpped, waving and then squirming to get down from Slush, who seemed to be having quite a hard time dealing with a very heavy and very wiggling toddler on his back. Eventually, he quit trying to shift her around and simply squatted to the floor so she could hop off easily.
The SM immediately toddled her way over to the red haired boy, tail flicking absently behind her as she sniffed at him.
Sleeping babies were boring and best not to be awakened.
"Hey, I'm Slush... Mum couldn't find Nao so she sent me and my daughter Tourmaline," He made a grand motion in her direction, "To entertain you instead."
Slush immediately sat down next to her on the couch, offering her a hand while peering at the baby in her arms, "Beautiful daughter." He squealed softly, eyes lighting up. Lucifer Force At the sound of Slush's voice, Nephilim immediately opened her eyes. Squealing happily (and a bit loudly), she reached her hands out to him, alarming her mother. She'd never seen her daughter react quite like that. Slush must've smelled good or something. Laughing, Lu shook Slush's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you and your gorgeous daughter. And thank you about mine. She seems quite intent on meeting you up close. Would you care to hold her?" Callix was beyond entertained with Tourmaline. Finally, someone else his age! And she could speak! Spreading his wings, he greeted her as well. "Saloo!" His French wasn't the best, but he did understand what she was telling him. That much he learned from his Guardian's struggle with learning his language. Tourmaline had an interesting tail, and it was fur, unlike the boy-girl-bird. She seemed a lot friendlier, too! XBear "Sure!" He chirpped, much like his daughter had only minutes ago, "I'm sure she's lighter than Tourma is..." He stuck his tongue out to Nephilim, wiggling his eyebrows before carefully taking her from Luciel's arms, "Well aren't you pretty~?"
Tourmaline tilted her head to the side at this greeting, but figured since he was weird looking and had wings that he probably spoke a different language like Naolin did. "I'm Tourmaline Sandia~," She said in a matter-of-fact tone, "Who are you?"
In the background by the fireplace, a small splotch of blue puffed and returned to his sleeping. It was too cold to be awake. Lucifer Force Nephilim giggled and squirmed happily in Slush's arms. She waited until she was situated properly before opening her mouth to smile at him. Her teeth were just beginning to come in now, and they looked as sharp as her mother's. Lu grew a bit worried and warned Slush. "If she decided to gnaw on you, let me know. She can be an angel and a little demon simultanously, I've found." Lu smiled, glad Slush was such an agreeable kind of guy. Callix pointed to himself. "Callix." While he really only knew a few words in English, he was sure he'd get along fine with Tourmaline. She was cute and cuddly and fuzzy, not to mention pretty and colorful. And he knew she was indeed female, unlike Naolin. Naolin was just confusing. "Play?" XBear Slush only eyed the teeth briefly before nodding to Luciel, "Better a biting child then a biting mother. And most children can play both cards... Nix that, all can, but not all chose too."
"Okee Callix." The Skullmonkey flicked her tail onto her lap absently as she sat down in front of him, "Play what?" XBear "Hmm..? Oh me, I'm a Skullmonkey, and so is my husband. Thus our daughter is as well." Pausing a moment to tickle Neph's toes with his free hand, Slush smiled over to Luciel, "But my 'mother' is a daywalker. I was adopted."

Callix surveyed the room. Was there anything else to play with? "Have favor-ite game, Tourma?" he asked carefully, hoping he was saying it all right. Luciel looked confused. "Daywalker? What is a Daywalker?" XBear Slush looked up to Luciel when she asked him the question, grinning slightly. "She's a vampire that's immune to sunlight... She never told me why though."
"I like to apart things?" She wasn't sure if he knew that ever so fun activity or not, but it was her favorite thing to do ever. Daddy had given her an old toaster just recently that she had been working on in her room. It was slow work and it facinated her. "Can't go outside though." Tourma frowned and looked out at the snow falling through the window, sighing softly before looking back to Callix. Lucifer Force "Immune to sunlight? I thought vampires couldn't do that. What a strange form of sorcery. But at least she's nice to you and allows you to live here. My kind generally can't use any sort of magic. But we get along just fine, I think. How do you feel about being a father, Slush?" She hoped she wasn't prying or anything, but she was genuinely curious. Callix blinked. "Take...apart...thing?" Sounded interesting, and possibly fun. Was there something around to take apart? He scanned the room with his emerald eyes. Nothing looked like it could be taken apart, but he had no skill in the area. He doubted he could tell if something could be taken apart. He waited for the other toddler to show him. XBear "It's not sorcery, that's just how she is... It's in her blood." Slush shrugged, not knowing anymore than what he had been told by her personally, but his thoughts soon moved to the question presented. He brightened up, looking over at Tourma and smiling, "She's both of our lives... Since we're both male a clinic was the only means possible. It was expensive, but we finally landed one and here she is... I wouldn't trade being a 'mother' with Isto for anything."
Tourmaline stood up immediately, ushering him over towards the stairs. She had stuff to take apart in her room, specifically stuff she wouldn't get in trouble for taking apart. "Mommy we going upstairs~!"
The SM nodded over to her, X was upstairs, so if trouble arised she'd be there to fix it.
"Come on~" She said impatiently, urging the other toddler to follow her upstairs to her room.
The Fa'e watched after them, beady eyes expressionless for now. He was plotting. Lucifer Force Callix immediately did as he was told. Never before had he had to deal with a girl that told him what to do. At least, not one his own age. How odd. Crawling up the stairs after Tourma, he wondered what would be waiting for him at the top. Lu nodded. "The clinic is a wonderful place, with amazing technology. I'm so happy for you! Your daughter is very intelligent. Her own woman, or so you could say." She giggled. A lot could be learned from Tourmaline! She was strong and independent, and Lu respected that, especially in someone so young. XBear Tourmaline headed for her room immediately, opening the door by standing on her tip toes and then motioning Callix in, peering outside cautiously before shutting the door. She liked her privacy.
Carefully, the toddler crawled under the bed and tugged something out, an old broken radio of sorts. "This is my..." she paused for a moment, as if trying to remember what Isto had called it, exclaiming when it came to her, "Project! I take apart and next put back. It my project."
She seemed terribly proud about this fact too.
In case he didn't like that, there were in fact, loads of other toys laden in the room, and the toddler twiddled her necklace absently, watching for a response.
"Thanks! Yeah, she's got a massive set of lungs on her... Gods I hate newborns and their talent to interrupt you at important and inoppertune times." Slush shook his free arm's fist in the general direction of his daughter, sighing lightly before grinning once more. "Comes with the territory though." Lucifer Force Lu rubbed her head, remembering just yesterday how Nephilim decided it was a great day to exercise her ability to scream. "It's like they know when you're busy or doing something important. But then they become cute and cuddly again..." Sometimes she wondered if her daughter had some sort of sorcery like Miss X did. Callix toddled quickly over to the 'project'. He never seen anything like it. It was shiny, though, in places. Very interesting. He reached out a hand to it. "Pro...ject. You take apart... fix again?" He wondered hwo she could do that. The project seemed so complicated. He suddenly missed the toys he knew how to work, but Tourmaline was so smart, he knew she could at least show him. XBear "Or getting to the good part of sex." Slush grumbled, eyeing Neph as if accusing her of doing the same. They all did it. They all knew.
The twins nearly drove X and Jack to madness. He blamed Dari, it was always Dari's fault.
She raised her finger and grinned before going back under the bed to tug out a massive toolbox, which to anyone who didn't have a metal skeleton and metal who knows what tendons would be too heavy. Digging around for a bit, she pulled out a small phillips head screw driver and began to carefully, but quickly enough unscrew the backing and then remove it. "See! It great!" Tourma beamed, the insides were even cooler than the outsides. Lucifer Force Luciel looked down for a moment, quiet. She was remembering how the father of her child and she had parted ways. She shrugged, knowing it was better this way anyway. No use being sad about it forever. Nephilim, meanwhile, gave Slush another toothy grin. She liked him. He smelled good. Wiggling about happily, she prattled in baby-speak. Callix was immediately enthralled. "Ooooohhh!" he cooed, watching how the light shone through all the boobles and wires. It looked beautiful. But what all was in there? And Tourma messed with these things on a regular basis? "What...is it?" he asked carefully. XBear Slush noticed the silence and frowned, he had a knack for saying the wrong thing. Meh. Soon his attention was back to the baby in his arms, and he absently batted at her with the tip of his tail.
"Circuits and stuff." Tourma grinned, well beamed was more like it, at his excitement to see all the insides as well. Lucifer Force Lu suddenly lightened up. "I'm glad things are working out with you and your husband. And you have Tourmaline as well. Everything's working out just fine." Nephilim was overjoyed to see something soft and fluffy twiddled in her face. "Gah!!" she squealed and batted back. "Ser...cuts?" What did ser-cuts do? Whatever they were, they were pretty. Callix wondered if he could take something apart at home and it would look the same on the inside... XBear Slush opened his mouth to reply when the sudden sound of an angry X hit his ears, but it didn't seem to be coming from upstairs. Nor did it sound like English. Probably Dari again.
Assumptions confirmed in a matter of seconds as the vampire came into view with a squirming Jivvin slung over her shoulder. Whatever he was trying to do to escape seemed to be failing.
"If I catch you smoking one more time Dariusz!" She snarled in Polish, eyes black with fury. The child tried to protest, but X cut him off before he could, "I've warned you and you're not getting out of this.
As soon as they had come into range of hearing and sight, the pair faded out of it.
"Ahem." Slush cleared his throat absently, "Dari's been taken to stealing and smoking X's cigarettes I'm afraid. Though I don't know if she's made at him for stealing, smoking, or wasting her cigarettes to be quite honest..." He eyed where he had last seen her figure before shaking his head and chuckling, flicking his tailtip at Neph's nose in response to her bats.
"Frewdriver." She identified as well, holding the screwdriver up to show Callix with a delighted smile. It was by far her favorite. Lucifer Force "Cigarettes?" Lu was confused. There were so many things in the human world she still wasn't aware of. Whatever a cigarette was, is was apparently very valueable. And no one should steal them from Miss X. Nephilim opted to try and chew on the colorful, fluffy thing, flailing her arms in an attempt to capture it. Wily thing it was. Callix watched, nodding. "Froo...diver." It was a tool and was apparently integral in the taking-apart of things. Tourma was so smart! He could learn a lot from her. Reaching carefully to poke at one of the ser-cuts, he found that they were cold and unresponsive. Odd. XBear "Yup. Yucky habit, but it doesn't stop her. Whatever keeps her sane." Uh oh, an assult on his tail! Pulling it just out of reach, Slush resorted to tickling her toes again. Those were out of biting range right?
Tourmaline nodded, clearly excited someone else other than her immediate family found her hobby in the least bit interesting. "It broken." She mentioned after he attempted to touch the circuits, a bit of sadness in her voice.
Never fear! Tourma was there to fix it! Horrah! Lucifer Force The things called cigarettes are bad for you? "I have to admit, I have no idea what a lot of things are. But if it does keep her sane. We all have habits like that, I suppose. Nephi and the rest of my children keep me sane." Her daughter looked back at her, smiling, before attending to the assault on her toes. Oh no! Slushman was out of reach! Curses! "Bro-ken?" Tourma could fix anything, though, especially if she had the skills he thought she had. Callix let his wings stretch for a bit before watching her intently poke things with the froodiver. XBear Nodding slightly, the Skullmonkey continued to flick his tail at the baby in his arms, "Something like that." He mused, glancing once more in the direction X had last been visible. You never knew with her.
"Not work." She explained, patting the top of the old radio lovingly, "But will later." Lucifer Force Callix suddenly felt nature calling. He'd been pottytrained, but didn't know where the bathroom was in this great spread of a house. Turning to Tourmaline, he asked, "Baff room?", hoping she knew what he was talking about. No need to embarass himself in front of a lady! XBear "Down the hall." She added a motion to the direction, the door was always open so Tourmaline was sure he wouldn't miss it when he went that way.
Nao, who was still faking sleep, finally decided that it was quite safe to unbird himself and go off to get something to eat. Man he was starving.
Yawning slightly, the bird hopped a bit of extra distance away from the fire before transforming back into his 'normal' form, stretching and smoothing out his clothing once he had finished. "I'm going to get food." He informed Slush while standing.
The Skullmonkey just waved him off, "Okay then." Lucifer Force Toddling down the hallway, Callix caught sight of the throne. The bathroom was clean, crisp and large. He reached up a tiny hand to shut the door. A short time later, after carefully balancing on the cupboard door to wash his hands, the incubus Fa'e emerged, feeling much better. About halfway back to the room where Tourmaline was working, something caught his eye. Looking down to the bottom floor, he was disappointed. All he saw was his mother, baby sister and the strange man. But there was something down there... Carefully coming back down the stairs, Callix took each one individually before reaching the ground. His Guardian never noticed him wander into the kitchen. Oh! The boy-girl-bird! Now was the perfect opportunity! Reaching out to the dress-shorts he was always wearing, Callix gave a light tug. XBear Luckily for Nao, one of his few known 'powers' was incredible speed, and though taken by surprise, the Fa'e managed to grab his skirt before it exposed anything more than his low hips. His next reaction was him mimicking something he saw someone do at one point. He couldn't remember if it was from TV or someone he knew [or didn't], but when one touched you bad, it happened.
Without further adeu, Nao delivered a sharp smack to the offender's face, not even thinking that this was a toddler and his guardian was just in the other room.
HE had been VIOLATED by this, this...
"INSOLATE CHILD!" The hummingbird Fa'e squawked in horror, chest heaving with anger as his red eyes glared down onto the other Fa'e.
One did not just try and disrobe someoone without their permission!
Unless you were 'in love' like Jack and X, it was okay then.
"You!" He sneered in English, still not even thinking of the consequences of his actions.
The Fa'e's squawk had in fact caused Slush to stand up abruptly, carefully handing the baby back to her mother and immediately heading for the kitchen. "What the ******** is going on now?" Lucifer Force Callix's face stung from the slap, but instead of crying, he simply stared. How could someone be so mean and scream like that?! His emerald eyes blinked, tears coming to them, but he never emitted a sound. His wings settled behind him on the floor as he stared up at the taller Fa'e. Luciel poked her head into the kitchen, hearing the scream. She then saw Callix on the floor, Naolin angered, standing above him. She immediately put two and two together and attempted to scoop Callix up to comfort him. "Non, mamon..." he sniffled and tried to stand. "Oiseau stupide." He growled to Naolin. Lu stood, silent. XBear "Stop with the act!" Nao hissed, crossing his hands over his chest after readjusting his skirt back up to where it belonged.
"What happened?" The Skullmonkey demanded. It was obvious Nao had hit the younger Fa'e, but it was so unlike him to lash out so violently. Unless he was being attacked...
"He TRIED to take off... MY SKIRT!" Nao yelled, completely infuriated still, sending a glare to Callix as if to prove his point.
Slush eyed the little toddler for a second before turning his gaze back to Naolin when he made the accusation. His eyes immediately went to the toddler, wider than before and very much confused. "Uh..."
He didn't really know what to say, and he turned towards Luciel for help, "Nao's not usually violent..." Slush said softly, trailing off before looking between the two Fa'e again.
"He's a PERVERT!" Nao growled, using a word that he had heard from his Nantli when she had been talking about some horse guy.
Well it sure fit here! Lucifer Force Luciel quickly knelt back down to Callix's level. She couldn't believe his behavior! Derobing the host's son! How disgusting! "How could you, Callix? What were you thinking?! How..." Callix simply pointed to Nao. "Garcon." It then dawned on the Guardian. She remembered the little Fa'e babbling about his confusion regarding Naolin, and his gender. He was simply trying to see if Naolin was male or female. But regardless! "Derobing someone is not the way to find out if someone is male or female, Callix. You ask if you simply must know." She turned to Naolin apologetically. "I am SO sorry, Naolin. I had no idea he would do this to you. He only meant to find out if you were male, but that's no excuse. If there's any way we can make it up to you..." XBear Slush just blinked, jaw dropping. Nao was actually telling the truth about this little guy trying to shank him? This kid was strange. "Uh... Nao? I don't think he knew any better?" Hopefully.
Nao continued to glare at the other Fa'e for a moment before looking over to Callix's guardian, glare softening into a deep frown. He could sure think of a few ways of killing punishing the other Fa'e, but most of them were quite unfamiliar to him and even hard to focus on. Weird.
Shaking the thoughts out of his head, he closed his eyes and sighed, calming down somewhat momentarily... Until something clicked in his mind, "Wait? He thought I was a... a girl?!"
Nao was horrified, his glare renewed onto the toddler. How COULD he think that?! Lucifer Force Lu nodded, deeply embarassed by Callix's actions. "Yes, I remember him babbling to me about you. Kept calling you boy-girl-bird. I don't know why he was so confused, but... I'm truly sorry." Callix wiped his face. "Fille... garcon..." he mumbled. At least now he knew, despite the consquences. His Guardian wasn't too interested in his new insight, though. "If you want us to leave, I will. I'm still so sorry..." XBear Nao looked as if he were going to either retort something fierce or lunge at the other Fa'e, and Slush definately could see this. Immediately cupping his hand over the Fa'e's mouth, Slush smiled sadly, "I unfortunately think that would be best... To avoid anymore... confusion?"
Glaring at Slush now, the hummingbird remained silent.
"It was lovely to meet all three of you, do stop by again..." The Skullmonkey smiled genuinely, waving to them. Lucifer Force Lu bowed as best she could, carrying two children in her arms. She was deeply embarassed by Callix's outburst, and doubted she would return any time soon. But she appreciated the genuine warmth in Slush's voice. "Thank you for having us over..." she spoke quietly and turned to the door. Nephilim waved a chubby hand at Slush while Callix stuck out his tongue over his Guardian's shoulder, earning him a harsh glare. Soon, they were out of sight.

Isto makes fun of me for not being able to pick her up as easily as he can. I still say his metal arm is cheating!
Anyways, I was so happy that Isto loved the anniversary I planned out for us, and even happier once we had sex all over the old Skullmonkey Center. It was about time that building was used for something worthwhile. Besides, no one else was around that we know of so we were as loud as we wanted to be.
Take that evil wench. Bwaha.
Ahem. Well that Pegasus still hasn't left so I'm guessing we're keeping him. He's a beautiful creature though, and I'll get a picture of him as soon as I can. Been busy and all.
Tourmaline took apart an old, broken radio during the span of the past week, and then put it back together. Now amazingly it works! Though I think Isto may have helped her in putting it back together. I'll have to ask him about that. Either way I'm so proud of her!
She also made a new friend, though I don't know if it's a healthy relationship to even start considering...
A woman named Luciel stopped by with both a Fa'e child and her cute little baby daughter. The Fa'e was named Callix I do believe and after playing with Tourmaline for a while upstairs, came down and proceeded to try and deskirt Naolin.
Kids are so strange these days! gonk
Naolin smacked him (Good for him!), and the toddler started crying. Nao was FURIOUS and Luciel left in a hurry with her two little ones.
I must make sure that I tell Tourma NOT to take off other peoples' clothes off without their permission first... Or ever till she's 18.
Crap! Christmas shopping! I must go get presents for everyone before it's too late! Ta~.
