i agree with mek. frei has displayed a lot of personal growth stylistically and technically as well. the change is staggering, really. not that you weren't good before haha, i always thought you had really good work. it's good to see that, a lot of people sort of stay stagnant for whatever reason. maybe stubbornness or fear/rejection of criticism, whatever it is it sucks. :}
i really like way you handled the male horned guy. the warm colors and the more paint-y sort of technique is awesome.

lol her name is on the arm look! + I kinda reconised her style lol She might have inked and colored it and I skeetched it or something.
@Magaly My old art totaly sucked Mag, don't be afraid I'll take offence or anything lol it's just not nearly as good as it is now and even less as it will (hopefully) be in the future. Unlike most people, I intend to make illustration my full time living and I have absolutely no intention of starving or living on the street. blaugh

Oh man, yeah, there's been a lot of improvement here over the years - frei, mags, anetra, too many to name.
Damn, I remember MelZ... I wanted art from her, ... ahhaa, that was so long ago. @____@

frei - idk i thought you were good. :B you had your own voice and you worked on refining it which is awesome.
woe - hayy! yeah. i think gaia helps haha. it helped me anyway, kept me drawing even when i was doing office jobs.
for me, i have been working on filling up my sketchbook with quick doodles. it's all i have time for. i haven't done any real drawing outside of work for a long time.

I am in complete agreement with that sentiment, Gaia does seem to really help. I think it's because, when you're drawing for someone, you want to impress them, yeah? And so then, that lights a little fire to push yourself on the picture, because you want to do a good job -- you know people are going to see it. Gaia also gives you the opportunity to take a lot of requests for things you don't usually draw, to get you out of drawing the same things all the time -- also, in my opinion, super important. Of course, for the present I'm quite content to just draw crazy gypsy dancer ladies, hahahah :>

P: XD Anyway, to add to the conversation, I think there's a lot of talent in this guild and I always like seeing people posting their own work for us to look at! heart I'm thinking it might be time for me to start posting some of my sketches and ask for feedback on where I'm going wrong. 3nodding Interested, anyone else do that while they where 'learning' (do you ever stop learning?!) or just fumble through it on your own?

I still do very often, mostly on my bigger pieces but not here on gaiaonline. I get my feedbacks on imaginefx.com and conceptart.org.
@clicktock: I had to post something after my centuary old drawing came back to haunt me xd

I've been updating DA with a lot of prints for con season, so if anyone's interested in picking one up at AX or Otakon, let me know to set one aside for y'all. (Cuz like, you know... Sirenz and I met at Akon, and it didn't really occurr to us that we'd met... ahaha...) http://fongmingyun.deviantart.com/
