The egg had hatched among the traditional counting down to midnight, and the final shout of "Happy New Year!" at the stroke of twelve. With 'Auld Lang Syne' playing in the background, Req shyly leaned over and kissed Owen's cheek, smiling softly. She wasn't at all good at this sort of thing, romantic stuff and all that. To distract herself from her embarassment, she looked up at Jaus. "Congratulations! Remind me and I'll make you a Hadderbithe... that is, a gift offering to celebrate the birth of a child." Turning back to Owen, she said, "This house is being taken over by extraterrestrials, like." She chuckled. "You, me, Beth, Adam, and now little Genesis. It's... out of this world." She paused, and then laughed at herself for making such a stupid pun.

Adam blinked at Jaus.
"Of course he is ready for meat...he is a Tyranid! He should already be deadly enough to kill some small animals...give him a week and he will be prepared to kill a full grown man." Adam looked down at the child, hoping he was actually right...it was only a half-breed after all. This had never really happened.

Jaus raised an eyebrow again as she shifted the baby a bit in her arms. She wiggled her finger in front of his face to coax him into opening his mouth.
Gene gasped at this as he caugth his mother's finger and opening his mouth to gum softly at it.
Jaus glanced around at Adamn. "I think he needs milk for now. ...We can try the meat again later. "

Req watched the little hybrid pick at the candied meats she'd made, and hoped it didn't have any adverse effects. "Er, I could go puree that, if you want. Maybe make it easier to eat, yeah?" She had a visual of Adam and Jaus buying feeder fish and live mice for this kid, and tried not to laugh.

Adam took the meat back, a little surprised that he was wrong about his own son's biology. He clicked at Genesis a few more times before running off to get milk.
Though he was also wondering if maybe blood would work just as well...

Either probably would have worked. Maybe even both. Genesis cooed softy as he looked up at his mother, inclining his head for now as she shook her head and kissed his forehead.
"Don't look at me like that ."She chastised him softly as she stroked the small bit of green hair there on his head. "If you had been conceived some other way, i could feed you myself, but you had to go with the egg. "
Gene wiggled against her as he chirped sweetly and set his head against her soft breast.
Jaus glanced over at Req then and smiled a little. "That sounds lovely. I am sure that he is going to love how it tastes. I am so sorry that he is picking at it now though ... "

Strolling over to the new family, and setting her hand on Jaus' shoulder she asks
"Wheres the fur? Well he's no leopard, but well Congratulations, I hope he is healthy and happy," leaning over she gives a small welcoming lick to the top of the little guys head,

Gene blinked a little as she licked his head, rubbing his hands on the spot a bitttt tttbefore he looked up at her again.
Jaus giggled and helped him clean up.

Jaus laughed a little bit at this as she rubbed little Gene's back. "Well, i wouldn't mind the help taking care of him. A baby sitter would be great too. " Gene made a sound as he closed his eyes and leaned against his mother.

Jaus laughed a bit at that as she nodded her head to that and tucked her bangs behind her ear with on hand. "Don't worry. "She smiled. "I don't mind the help and i would be more than happy to help you. Just think of it as practice for if you get your own children. "

The doors flung open as DG walked back in His eye's immediately locking onto the larvae wiggling in Jaus's hands. He sniffs. It smelt of Jause and.....the Nid. How? When? WHAT? His eye widens and he moves quickly over picking up the kid and holding him out. His long tail swishing the stinger curling.
"And...I'm almost afraid to ask...but How?"
He looks at Jaus coolly.

Jaus blinked in surprise as her baby was pulled from her hands, gasping as she reached out to try and take him back from DG. "Adam and i think it was from his hug to me before he became human for christmas. Please give me back my baby, he is so little, he could get hurt!"
Gene paused as he looked at DG, narrowing his four little eyes for a few mometns befor he wiggled and tried to nibble at the boss' hand, gumming at it instead because of his lack of teeth.

DG's eyes narrow as well. And with a set Jaw he hands it back to Jaus.
