Perhaps it was the rum or the heat of the room or the emotional turns she'd taken, or perhaps it was simply the entirely new experience of apologizing, but Katherine was in a decidedly strange mood. She barely ruffled at the almost snide comment, and instead nodded silently to Jonathan's suggestion. With barely a nod to the owner that they'd be using one of her rooms, Katherine lead the way up the well worn staircase to a private room above the common room.
She didn't look back at Jonathan until she was inside the room, the first one to be found, and even then she didn't let herself second guess her decision. This was unfamiliar territory for Katherine, and she felt both uneasy at the foreign situation and thrilled with the changes. Throwing caution to the wind, Katherine turned to Jonathan without quite looking at him, not used to baring herself without the shield of insults or orders.
"I was... I worried about you. How did you get out of Divvytown alive?"

"Yes Ma'am, John Rackham..........Thank you ma'am...." ~Cook? Cook? What kind of boring life had he been living....and was it to late to get out of it....~ He started to ask Katherine something when she got up and left he sighed abit now broke and still only one word closer to figure things out. He returned to his seat and tried to ignore the chattering of his monkey that he could now understand. Suddenly a sweeter sound tickled his ear that of a woman's singing voice he turned in his chair and spotted a fine looking lass with long red hair and green eyes. He was entranced for a moment by her voice which made him choose a closer seat to her. "Wow she is nice." He whispered to his monkey friend.
"I thought you liked the other lass mon? Aw well men are like honey bees and should collect necture from every flower they can dont you think mon?" Chittered Mr.Gibbon's into John's ear.

The English officer sits down on the bed and pats the mattress, inviting Katherine over toward him. "Not right now, hun," he says tiredly, "I just want to relax." He blushes and grins, "And besides, I... err..." Jonathan was having as much trouble trying to force out the words as Katherine was to an apology, "...I missed you. Cant this conversation wait for later?"

Shun was a little surprised as to how well that went. But at least there wasn't any trouble. So as he moved over to where the articles were, he looked around at who would be his shipmates. While this happened, he caught Ara's glare, in which he quickly looked away from her.
There was a slight problem though. For while he stared down at the articles and tried to make as much sense of it as he could, he simply couldn't decipher it. Here and there, he was able to pick up some of the smaller and simpler words, but the rest just seemed to be a jumbled mess of letters to him. Silently cursing to himself about his inability to read, he wondered if he should just go ahead and sign anyway without knowing what the rules of the ship were.
This thought process was interupted as a man clad in a red coat walked into the tavern. Narrowing his eyes at him, an idea to confront the officer sprang into his head, but that was quickly shot down as the captain of the ship he just joined had gone over and actually speak with him. It was a little bewildering to him, for a pirate to just go over to an English officer like that, but he realized that the officer was most likely more than what he seemed.
Watching them as they retreated to go elsewhere in the tavern, Shun shook his head to himself before turning his attention back to the papers and pretending to be able to read them.

Ara shook her head at the young man. He seemed to be having trouble with the papers and instead of asking for help charged right into them. Not only was he going to get himself into a lot of un known trouble he was giving of the false idea that he could call back sound. She dent, resting her head on his shoulder and started to read the articles low enough to were only he could hear them.

Feeling something resting on his shoulder somewhat, Shun's eyes shifted over to the side to see Ara's head there. For a split second, he froze since he didn't really expect her there, but he soon relaxed and looked back at the articles.
He listened carefully to what was read to him, and when it was done, he nodded slightly before scribbling his name at the bottom. It was one of the few things he had learned to write.
Letting out a sigh, he murmered a 'thank you' to Arabeth before moving away from the papers and facing her.
"You on this ship too?"

She smirked. “No, I just like to hang around large groups in bars. Hopefully someone will start a fight and I’ll get to join in.” She said sarcastically. “Or maybe I’ll just get to play doctor again. Or of course my least favorite, I can get insulted for no reason at all.” She said back, their last meeting still in her mind. She moved away from the other pirates so other’s could sign the paper’s as they pleased.

That meeting was still fairly fresh in his own mind as well. Though he wasn't too sure about the insult part, but then again, he sometimes did that without knowing.
"Look, I'm sorry about that ok?" said Shun with a sigh, "Eh... maybe I should cross out my name and go find another place.."
He had seen the other ship that was docked at the island, but he didn't really want to go about and hunt down the captain, when he had already found a place to be in for now.

Ara raised an eyebrow. “What because of me? If you’d don’t like I asked, we wouldn’t even know each other’s names and we’d be perfect strangers m’lord Shun!” She hissed at him but crossed her arms. “Don’t leave on my account the ship could most likely use a young man who can fight.”

Shun twitched slightly as she referred to him as a lord again. He could never tell if she was using that to mock him with or if she just felt like calling him that. It could go either way in his mind.
"Well then I guess I'll stay," he said with a slight nod. If big problems arose between him and her, then he might need to find a way to avoid her on the ship, but hopefully things can smoothen out somewhat to where they could tolerate eachother.
"Seems like you've managed to get around alright since you've got here, Arabeth."

Ara frowned. “Don’t use my name freely, I dislike it m’lord.” She said then shrugged. “I’ve managed to stay out of trouble yes, though joining pirates wasn’t really on my list of things to do, but it is getting me off the island.”

"Then what would you prefer to be called? 'Hey you?'" he said with just a little sarcasm in his tone. At her second comment, Shun shrugged as well. So it seemed that they were on the same page on this situation.
"That's more or less the same reason why I've joined. I've been on this island long enough already."

“Ara, just Ara. Not Arabeth or Beth. Just Ara it be a damn druid name in any other way.” She said and looked back to the table of pirates. She would have headed out to the ships if it were not tempting to stay with the strange group, she’d most likely have to carry the woman from earlier who was still pasted out.

"Well then Ara it is."
Shun glanced over to the side, still not really sure what to think of her. She seemed to be willing to help him or any others, but at the same time, she sure didn't seem to like him at all. The last part of that was more or less to be expected though.
Still gazing somewhere over to the side, he asked, "Is the pain still in your backside?"

Arabeth nearly chocked on the air she was breathing. “What the hell kind of question is that?! My backside is absolutely none of your concern! If you’re referring to my shoulders then say so!” She hissed, glaring at him. “And they still hurt.”
