Ecchymos looked at Salem. He motioned to Vhozd, who followed Monoe. He then turned back to Salem, who he regarded with a cool stare.
"What was that about?"
The dagger was back in his hand, and he was cleaning the nails on his left hand this time.

Salem did not respond, simply waiting.
Monoe gestured for Vhozd to wait, and, after a few minutes inside a locked room, she came out as before, but her skin was much darker.
"Here!", Monoe said as she ran back to Salem, handing him her skin.
Salem took out some scissors and cut out a corner of it, snipping it more so that nobody could pilfer it.
"I'll make you a much more elastic skin soon. Be back in about ten minutes."
"Thanks!"

Ecchymos mumbled.
"Wha-what. Monoe, what did he s..."
His voice trailed off as he put two and two together. His eyes narrowed and he snapped his fingers. Vhozd grabbed at Salem's wrists.

Salem raised an eyebrow, and he tilted his hands to shrug.
"Why, is it so bad to heal the defect of a poor little girl who just wants to grow up normally, and not be a target for pedophiles?"
Somethign in his head clicked.
"...oh."

Ecchymos smiled.
"Wrong. Why does everyone assume that? But anyway."
He turned to Monoe.
"Would you please stay here and make sure dear Chryseis gets down safely?"
He smiled warmly at her.
"We wouldn't want her getting hurt in the interim."
He turned back to Salem and Vhozd.
"Let's go."
Vhozd pinioned Salem's arms behind him and began walking him out of the room.

Monoe followed him.
"No! Whaat are you doing?!"
Chryseis, who had escaped relatively unscathed [miraculously enough], followed her, and Monoe was sobbing.
"I... I want to grow up. I want to be a teenager, an adult, like normal kids do..."

Ecchymos turned again, still walking out of the room backwards as he smiled at Monoe.
"You can. But I never go back on my word. So, I'll be right back."
He looked at Chryseis.
"Good to see you got out of there fine. I'll be with you later."

Monoe was getting frustrated, and yelled at him.
"He's a super-scientist, I want him to help me! You'd just give me more flesh or make me a patchwork skin made of others' skin! He'd make me a real one...!"
Chryseis froze, shocked by the sudden flip.
"M-Monoe..."
Monoe, tearing up, ran away out of the room; Chryseis didn't knoww how to respond.

"Vhozd, take him up to the room."
He followed Monoe.
"Monoe? Can I talk to you please?"

Monoe scowled, trudging away angrily.
"Leave me alone..."
Her steps slowwed, and she stood silently, not crying, but her fists were clenched.

"He could still make you one. Just say the word."

Monoe turned around and hugged him.
"I want to grow up normally. I don't want to have the body of a preteen anymore..."
She rubbed her head.
"I-I just want to be normal."

Ecchymos frowned for a moment before smiling at Monoe again.
"Surely this growing will be done at a normal pace, correct?"

Rufus took another deep inhale of tobacco smoke as he walked away. "Now, where the 'ell is Alice..." His eyes looked back and forth the cafeteria, not seeing her.
Alice, slung the leather bag onto her left arm, the heavy turret firearm in her right. The barrel of the firearm touched the ground, using it as leverage, she returned to a very wobbly standing position. She began to walk to the exit of the room, swaying as she did. She entered back into the pure white room, getting a headache from the intense brightness of the room. This forced her to squint as she entered, her eyes beginning to adjust.
