"She's a Killer with Miala's blood, her survival was probably due to that," Ignatius said, watching the girl hide behind a tree. Strangely, it reminded him of when Adrasta hid.
"You realize, we won't hurt you, Lila," he said gently, walking closer to the trees, but not entering. He didn't want to scare her away.

Delilah twisted in her covers, letting out an aggitated sigh. Why couldn't she sleep? Finally giving up, she untangled the sheets from her legs. She padded scross her room to the bathroom. She slipped on her cotton bath robe over her silky nightgown. If she coudln't sleep, she could clean. God knew that that floor needed a good sweep. She tied the sash closed and went down stairs to the bakery. He went to the front door to unloack then open it. So she could sweep out the dust and flour.

Clearly Jaden wasn't need anymore. But before he left, "As I said this morning, I have a guest room and you are welcom to it. Oh yeah, my name's Jaden. I'll be in town for a while if you need anything." At least, Dante didn't seem to be coming, so maybe they'll be safe for a while. With a friendly smile and wave, he made his way down the trail to town.

"Thanks for your help, I'll do my best to send her to that guest room if she doesn't go on her own," Ignatius said with a grateful smile, turning his head to look at Jaden over his shoulder. Then he returned to Lila.
"Nobody's life is the same, Lila. I've never been through what you have, but you've never been through what I have. After all, you still have both eyes, don't you?" he asked, almost as if he was joking. He always made fun of the fact that he only had one eye, saying how people couldn't call him "Four-Eyes" if he wore glasses and such.

He wasn't tired even though he hadn't slept in nealy 48 hours, he didn't feel tired. Instead, he followed the familiar pattern of his patrol around the town. He always started around the edge first. He began to whistle tunelessly.while he slowely walked the outskirts. He caught a flash of silver in the moon light. It was the guy's twin. curled up under a tree. I wonder if she's okay? he wondered to himself. He kept his slow pace till he was about 10 feet away. Softly, he called to her, "Hey, are you alright?"
