"A railway company? Hmmm.. I like the sound of that better actually," she said with a soft smile as she thought it over. It could be nice, though a large house could become more a hassle than a luxury. Either way, she was sure they would make it to that future or whatever other future they wanted. Call it a gut feeling or a hopeless dream, but she could just feel it in her bones. They'd make it out of this.. They had to.

Giving his hand one more squeeze, she felt him slowly lift off so that he could resume eating. Then with a peck to the cheek, she rose and started fiddling with the stuff in her pockets. She had a few things for those that would be taking positions off the ship. Since it was riskier, she felt as though she should do something to help out, even if her gifts would only help slightly. Carnifex had received his earlier: her set of old glasses and a few modifications on his gun to help with aim. Geth, Abbigale, and Kamel and Judath had yet to receive theirs though and so she wordlessly walked around the table setting down the gizmos in front of the people, half of which weren't paying attention. She then proceeded to settle back down beside Wrech before setting down a small object in front of him. Rather than being something useful though, it was something more on the sentimental side. A small circular box with a key stuck into a hole. A music box of sorts, with a basic tune. Definitely something more feminine, but one of the few things she'd been able to explain that held his interest for more than a few seconds.

"You should give the key to your mum. Me and mine did so when I was young. I would carry the little box carefully in my pocket whereever I went and she'd hold onto the key. And then when were relaxing together late at night, she would turn the key in it and we would just sit and relax together. I tried to model the tune after that song you hummed to me once. The one you said she'd hum when you were little," she said with a soft smile as she traced the rudimentary designs she'd managed to make on the sides.

---

Watching her still some more food from him, he crinkled his nose again. He then proceeded to smirk at the challenge placed. Just as he was about to offer a new target, however, he watched a small gift be placed in front of her, wrapped in a handkerchief, he looked at it puzzled-like before blinking some. "What's that," he asked curiously as she started unfolding it.

----

Geth meanwhile had been rather oblivious, a bit too busy pondering Judath plans too see the gift even be placed before him. Reaching over to grab something else, he nearly knocked it right off the table just for Judath to catch it in time. Blinking in surprise, he stared at the package in confusion, wondering where on earth it had come from. The answer was quick to come however as he saw the Velican symbol on the corner of the kerchief. A gift from Marie? Hmm... he'd open that later, when he could concentrate on it more.

Taking it once Judath placed it back down, he safely tucked it in his pocket before looking to Judath. "What did you get?"

Wrech followed Marie as she made her rounds with his eyes, tracing each step as he watched her produce gifts—which she slid subtlety into the laps and next to the plates of everyone who was going down… plus Abbigale. Was Abbigale supposed to go down with them? Wouldn’t she serve better on the ship with her ropes and uncanny ability to throw people off the sides to their own oblivion? Her hemp ropes would be an excellent tool against Clandestine, if by some disaster she should strike… her inclusion made him fidget, anxiously, and when Marie made her patrol and returned, his frown hadn’t gone anywhere… until the music box was put in his hand and she told him what it was for.

He smirked.

“Have you met my mother, by chance?” He snickered, shaking his head. “She’d laugh my ear off if I handed this to her… I mean, I’ll do it, but… don’t expect the grateful tears of a touched old woman.”

He lifted the box to his eye level, turning it in his hand, admiring the intricate design and the delicate way it seemed to float in his palm… before realizing the cream candies were getting grabbed up and he had to put it down to claim his share before they vanished entirely.

~*~

Abbigale had a plate of her own food, but she hadn’t touched it—she was too busy eating off Percy’s plate, spearing piece after piece of food and chowing down while he tried to stop her. She laughed, pushing him away with his shoulder, before a package was dropped in front of her. She blinked, pulled the fork from her mouth, and plucked it off the tablecloth, quietly unwrapping it.

It was a thumb-sized knife. Abbigale blinked, picking it up between her fingers and examining the blade… perfect for cutting ropes. A surprisingly excellent gift, considering.

“Well I’ll be. Guess the angels haven’t left our shoulders yet.” She snickered, sliding it into her breast pocket.

~*~

Judath was in the process of laughing at a joke Bes had muttered under her breath—the punchline being “But the bill was twenty less!”—when Marie dropped a gift off to both him and Geth. Judath blinked, looked at it, then gave a sideways glance to Geth, who put his away. Shrugging, he followed suit, as it would have been rude to open his while Geth kept his to his pocket.

“Dunno, I’m not going to open mine in your face after you put yours away.” he shrugged, “Hey, hey—you have any jokes?”

"I don't think she'd laugh at it nor did I expect tears. I do think she'll like it though, even if she doesn't say so," she said as she watched him study it over. It was not viewed long, however, as Wrech's eyes quickly wandered to the cream candies. She had personally chosen a cake of some sort. It tasted kind of coffee-like but had no resemblance to the coffee cake back home. Wasn't desnse enough.

Taking a polite, she looked around to see what everyone was doing with their gift before settling her eyes on Kamel. She was smiling now, the food obviously having brought back some of her good humour. She didn't really look all that happy though. She never really did anymore, she noticed. More irritated and grumbly, only laughing from time to time at Giselle.

"I hope it's alright. I wasn't quite sure what to make you. I figured that could at least be a bit useful though," she said, referring to the package at hand.

Whether she liked it or not, Marie couldn't really tell, but she did notice that Abbigale had opened hers. It was simple and effective, but deemed useful by the woman.

Ah and there Perc was stealing some her food again. With one clever fork grab, he snatched away a nice piece of chicken before obnoxiously chewing it with his mouth open, much like Abbigale had done while taunting him. The taunt afforded him a soft thud, but he didn't seem to mind, just grinning impishly at her before resuming his protection of his food, which now consisted of a sort of plate barrier.

"Got any more games in mind other than steal the poor man's food," he asked as he snatched a bite of fish before she could grab it from him.

Watching Judath place the gift away, he crinkled his nose at the question and tilted it some. "Not any good ones," he replied as he took another neat bite of his steak before thinking one through. "Alright how bout this."

A young man is captured by pirates and is persuaded to join the crew rather than walk the plank. After a few weeks at sea the captain speaks to the man and asks him how he is getting on. The man replies that on the whole he is enjoying things - the rum-soaked drinking binges, the plundering, etc - but there was one thing missing.

"What's that?" asks the captain.
"Well, there are no women" replies the man.

"Arrr" says the captain "Follow me!" The man follows the captain to what appears to be a barrel, on top of the barrel stands a coconut with a face drawn on and a few strands of wispy straw for hair. On the barrel is a crude outline of a woman's body and between the legs is a bung hole. "We calls her Carmen," says the captain, "and you may take her as you will". The man explains that he was unlikely to make use of her and goes on his way.

However, as the months go by with no respite, Carmen appears more and more attractive to the young man. Finally he can resist her no longer and the man has his wicked way with Carmen the rum barrel. To his amazement the experience is far more satisfying than he could ever have imagined!

The next day the captain greets him again. "How did you get on with Carmen then, lad?" he asks eagerly. The man replies "Rather better than I thought... actually, it was rather good!"

"Good," says the captain, a great beaming smile splitting his black-bearded face. "It's your turn in the barrel tomorrow!

Once finished, he looked over to Judath with a soft smile on his face, along with a blush, due to his lack of experience with telling those sorts of jokes. He'd heard it from the man at Jacob's landing though and d@mned if he'd let it go to waste.

Kamel had indeed not noticed her own gift, as she was preoccupied with a conversation with Cornelius, of all people. The two of them didn’t talk much, considering how long the two of them had been on the same ship, but when they did talk it tended to be a more sober, relaxed affair—like an old grandfather having polite conversation with his granddaughter. It was hard to overhear what they were saying, all things considered, but from the bits and pieces Marie could pick up they were talking about their first experiences with airships—since both were (technically) old enough to remember a world without them. Kamel almost never talked about her childhood, but maybe a mix of the atmosphere and the drink was loosening her tongue for the evening.

When Marie approached, apologizing for not knowing what to ‘make her’, Kamel finally paid attention to the package she’d been given, glancing at it before eyeing Marie, her smile faltering somewhat, flirting into an agitated glare, before picking apart the gift and withdrawing the contents.

“I don’t even know what the hell this is.” She spoke quietly, unobtrusively, not truly upset at the lack of understanding or annoyed by the woman’s approach—in her hands, unwrapped, was a small vial of oils. Marie had to collaborate with Percy and Cameron to make it, but it was an ‘enhanced’ flame for her gloves: it would burn a midnight blue instead of a blazing red, and the heat it would create would be dramatically more intense. “Some kind of perfume?”

~*~

“Why, I’m insulted.” Abbigale mock frowned, feigning a stab with her fork—anticipating his block, and grabbing some vegetables off his plate with her hands. “We only just started and you want to quit on me now? I wouldn’t have penned ‘quitter’ on your tag!”

She grunted those last words as she grabbed his wrist, pulling it up so she could make a few more unguarded stabs at his plate, grinning the whole time. Nobody else was roughhousing quite as hard as those two, but nobody minded their little tussle.

~*~

Judath had been pulling on a slice of eel with his teeth, gnawing at the ends, as Geth told his joke. When the joke had reached its climax, he snorted a little, smiling into his meal as he swallowed the last few stray strings of fish meat falling from his chin.

“Aaahhh I get it.” He licked his lips free of the loose juices, then dabbed his face with a nearby napkin. “Okay, I guess it’s my turn.”

“Just don’t tell the 15-inch c**k joke again.” Bes requested, before taking a savage bite of her ribs.

“Aw, but I… fine, fine, I have another.” He assured her, taking a quick swig of his ale before continuing. “So a Avengalian and a Duke walk into a pub…”

Bes groaned, immediately, rolling her eyes.

“Hey, this is a good one, I promise.”

“No good jokes start with the Avengalian and a Duke.”

“Then just don’t listen!” Judath huffed, continuing. “An Avengalian and a Duke walk into the pub. The Avengalian says ‘Bartender, I’ll have my usual’—and the bartender makes the guy a gin and tonic. The duke says ‘Bartender, I’ll have my usual’, and the bartender blinks, confused, and crouches down to take a s**t in a glass.”

“I’m eating.” Bes reminded Judath, who kept talking regardless.

“And the duke is disgusted and he says ‘Why the hell are you shitting in a glass?’ And the bartender says ‘It’s what you ordered, sir—you wanted to eat s**t’.”

Nobody laughed. Bes only stared at him dryly, and Olivia, who had been sitting next to Geth, could only slowly shake her head, disapprovingly.

His sense of humor was lacking.

The joke was.. awful. It wasn't funny. It was short and the punchline was bland. It just was so..bad. But as Judath sat there, looking at him to provide a laugh, he couldn't help but chuckle some. It seemed genuine, but only because he'd practiced it time and time again for his uncle's dreadful jokes. Smiling, he pecked the redhead on the cheek. “Very clever Judath. Though in all honestly real dukes don't drink s**t, they drink orphan's tears and workman's blood,” he said, chuckling a bit at his own joke as well. “Know any other's Judath?”

He hoped he didn't, prayed in his mind there no more, but asked anyways. After all, he was his lover and what kind of boyfriend would he be if he didn't humor his humor rather than give up on it on the first go?

-=-

“No. What do you think I am, an idiot? Perfume wouldn't do jack s**t for you in battle. That you'll prefer much more, I think. It's an improved oil for your gloves. It heats them up to an even hotter flame, a blue one. It'll burn through flesh in a touch and go straight to the bone. If anyone smart enough sees you with them, they'll be running like no tomorrow,” she said with a smile, as she watched the women continue to examine the vial, hoping she'd find a bit more worth in it now. “Percy and Cameron helped me with it, so that it would burn as hot as it could without burning you personally.”

“Yeah, don't forget to avoid itching yourself while it's on your gloves though or you'll burn your face clean off,” he said as he struggled to keep Abbigale away, now using his tentacles to snatch some of her food, thus evening the playing field.

“Yeah, I do!” He grinned, “So the pope finds a coin on the ground and bends-“

Before he could get much further, a spoon smacked him dead in the center of the forehead, still spinning, and clattered on the table in front of the momentarily stunned Captain. It’s thrower, Olivia, looked him dead in the eye with unflinchingly cold eyes and commandingly stated “No. Stop. No. That joke was awful and I don’t believe in second chances. You just forfeit all joke-making privileges for the evening.”

Bes, applauded sarcastically, and Judath grew slightly red in the face as he composed himself, scooping up the spoon thrown in his direction and clumsily chucked it back. “Fine, why don’t you tell a joke, if you’re so good at them?”

“I don’t like jokes.” She replied with a sideways smile as she caught the spoon he had attempted to peg her with, dipping it back into her stew. “I’m more of a ‘spontaneous wit’ kind of girl.”

“Fine. Whatever.” Judath crossed his arms, grumbling, while Bes quietly took the stage once again, repeating a joke she’d overheard about an amputee in a brothel.

~*~

“Well, that’s not true.” Kamel flicked the bottle into the air, catching it as it fell, watching it bounce up and down at her command, watching the liquid within lap against the inside of the glass. “If it was a really poignant perfume it could distract an opponent in a fistfight. Like, burn their eyes or nose from the smell.”

“But then it’d affect you too.” Cameron pointed out.

“…right.” She shrugged. “Either way, thanks I guess. Didn’t really need the help but should be fun to try.” She slipped the vial into her pocket, turning back to Cameron and continuing to talk to him as if Marie wasn’t even there.

“...like I said, small glances here and there. It hurt, but at the time I thought it was worth it… didn’t know I’d be living in one when I grew up..."

Frowning some at Olivia's very rude interruption, he looked over to her and Arthur, whom was trying to keep himself from chuckling. Sure. He wasn't so pleased that Judath had accepted his offer, but that didn't mean the woman had to be such a b*tch about it. Oh lord.. was that what Kamel had meant? Wait did that thought meant he'd agreed with Kamel.

Looking back down to his food, he seriously considered that possibility before looking back to Judath, who was grumbling to himself. "You can tell me all the jokes you want later, alright," he offered as he looked to his lover and bit his lip. "Hey you open your gift from Marie," he asked, trying to move the conversation elsewhere. As he spoke, he pulled his package out from his pocket and set it down on the table in front of him.

Meanwhile across the table, Perc had taken up one of Abbigale's licorice ropes leaving it hang out of his mouth tauntingly, as his tentacles slowly started to allow him to beat her at what seemed to have become a competition of sorts.

Nearby Giselle was talking with Nathan, seeming relatively happy, but not nearly as relaxed as she normally was. She always got this way when Morgan was around, it seemed, limiting her conversation and not pulling nearly as many tricks as were usual.

“Oh I’m very sure he’s already done as much.” Olivia quietly replied to Geth’s assurance Judath could tell him ‘all the jokes you want later’, which was enough to make Judath’s face go red and his eyes to narrow wickedly. He glared, bearing his teeth, and slowly got to his feet as Olivia continued chatting with her brother, mindless of the way Judath was staring.

Clenching his fist, he scooped up a baked potato in his metal hand, as if planning on throwing it, but before he could wind up the pitch Bes shot her own hand out and caught his arm, stopping him in his tracks and giving him a good stare.

“A food fight would be fun, but wasteful.” She quietly reminded him, “Nathan worked too hard on this food. Look at him. He doesn’t need to feel worse.”

Judath blinked, coughed, and looked over to his cook: the man was smiling, but it was more strained and artificial than any other at the table. What’s more, he wasn’t even eating the food on his plate—merely poking around, shuffling the dish around to make it look busy. Judath swiftly nodded in agreement, slinking back into his seat and putting his potato down, grabbing his package and gently putting it on the table, still eyeing his old friend.

“Geth,” Judath turned to the prince, eyebrows furrowed. “You spent all day with Nathan, right? You know why he’s acting so down? He having second thoughts or something…?”

Getherald was many things he was a good friend, someone a person could talk to without being judged, and selfless to a fault. He was not, however, a good liar in any form. Upon Nathan being brought up and attention being brought to him, the prince tensed considerably and continued eating his food quietly. "Mmm.. he's just worried is all. He never got the chance to tell his fiancee where he was headed, so she doesn't know what's going on," he said, figuring that was enough to give him some insight without straight-up telling him that Nathan was indeed having second thoughts. He'd promised Nathan he wouldn't after all and a promise was a promise...
PostPosted: Wed Aug 27, 2014 10:06 am

“Oh, is that all?” Judath exhaled, visibly relieved to hear the news. “Sh*t, Geth, I told her before we crossed the ocean where we were headed. I’m friends with Betty, we like to keep each other up-to-date with our exploits.”

“It’s understandable why he would want to tell her himself.” Bes pointed out, talking into her drink as she delicately nursed some especially sweet milk.

“I guess.” Judath shrugged, idly unwrapping his gift while he considered: when the paper was spread apart, revealing the fruit protected by the pedals, he saw a rather small present: a finger-sized series of tubes and lids that made his eyes grow wide and a big ol’ grin to run across his face. “Marie! Marie, you witch, how’d you know my arm gun needed a Denniton Valve?!” He called over, his voice booming over the rest of the crew. “You little snake, you’d better not die tomorrow before I get the chance to kill you myself for keeping this from me!”

He laughed, folding the paper back over the valve and dropping it into his jacket pocket, turning to Geth. “Everyone else opened theirs—open yours before we go to my room, she deserves to see the look on your face.”

~*~

“Alright, alright, we might have taken this too far.”

Easy to say in retrospect, now that they were nothing but a tangled web of mechanic limbs and rope, practically tying the two of them together. Things might have gotten a little out of hand when she started using rope to counter his false arms, and now it was pretty much impossible to move thanks to the cage of their intertangled weapons.

“Okay, um… could you spin counterclockwise for a second?” Abbigale fidged, smile vanishing as she entered a new focus, trying to unwind herself from the mess they had themselves created…

Chuckling some at Judath's reaction, he nodded some and started to fidget with his package, pulling aside the red and black packaging. Inside were two things. One was more useful, a poison of sorts for his blade. On the side, she had scribbled a note. Apply with gloves. Will stay on blade after multiple uses. Weakens an opponent with a low dose, kills with a higher one. Turning it over, he watched the liquid slosh about a bit before giving a nod of thanks and tucking it away. He then proceeded to lightly pull the extra wrapping off of the second gift only to blink and stare in shock. It was a compass. But not just any compass. It was one of the many items that he had with him when he'd been on the Valik ship. And, as with most of the other's, it had broken during one of his little talks with Carnifex. Tracing over the item, he lightly moved it and watched it bob to the correct location. It was.. odd though there were markings along the side of it, ones that weren't there before. Crinkling his nose, he looked it over, only for Marie to notice and smile at his confusion.

"Those markings help you find locations in comparison to the latitude and longitude of your current location, kind of like the one you'd use when looking to face Palenstine. Rather than be linked to Palenstine however, I linked it to your home in Columbus. I am a bit sorry though, I didn't realize I'd have to make as many markings as I did. I can try to revert it back to it's original state if yo-.."

"No... No it's perfect Marie. Thank you very much," the former prince said, a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he looked at the marking on the compass and tried turning it to the correct locat.ion

---

"Maybe just a little bit," the man said, head at an awkward angle due to a rope tugging his tentacle where his head should properly be. Listening to her orders, he did as she was told, just to be moved awkwardly close to the woman. Holding his breath, he felt his face heat up a bit at the proximity and secretly hoped she'd do whatever the heck she was doing quickly.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 27, 2014 1:33 pm

Dinner progressed. The meal, as lavish and large, was slowly consumed, the table thinning and plates stacking as each person fought over the thinning remains. It was a time to celebrate: not their mission, not those they have lost, not the glory of their lives, but themselves—to celebrate each and every one of them as individuals, as humans, and their precious time in this world. The feasting and revelry lasted well into the afternoon, until the sun had started to set and the eastern sky grew dark from the approaching veil of night. Clouds were spotty this evening, higher than their ship could realistically reach, and below them was the sweeping wilderness of the world below… and in front of them, just barely visible, was the warning for approaching ships that they were sailing into Heaven’s air, which was a deathly crime against the Palistine itself.

It would take a very short flight to pass that marker, and shorter still to reach the walls.

As the evening passed, people started to disperse. The plates, the tables, the chairs—all left where they may be, knowing it would all be ash before noon tomorrow. Some people, like Cornelius and Nathan, went to find seclusion to enjoy their nights in the company of themselves. Some people stayed together, Olivia dancing with Kamel of all people to a swinging beat of her last remaining grammadisk. Judath stood, as if he were going to make a speech, and put a beat of silence in the celebration just long enough for him to flip them off and say he was going to his quarters… with a wink to Geth and a proclamation that porking was officially allowed for one night and one night only, with an eye to Wrech, Marie, Gisille and Morgan when saying so… although he saw Bes give Ysmir a look when he made the call…

Not surprising. It would either be Ysmir or Cameron, and Ysmir was better looking of the two. Just someone to help her with her urges…

Still, first to act on it was Wrech, who scooped Marie up in his arms and started carrying her to the balloon immediately, a mischievous little grin on his face as he scaled the ropes to the wire—someplace where they could be alone (even the crows were downstairs, eating leftovers), and enjoy the amazing view of the Palistine country—the unhampered buffer of flatland between Heaven and the rest of the world.

“Alright, so I know we have to be careful because of the baby.” Wrech assured her as he hoisted the two of them to the balloon, sitting the two of them down on a blanket he had laid down earlier for tanning “And I have to be on bottom, but I was reading up on this and apparently if we’re just gentle and avoid...”

He was in the process of stripping down, taking off his shirt and undoing his belt, when something caught his eye—something far, far away, one of those things only he could see, and he stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes widened significantly as his eyes slowly moved, right from left in a straight line, as if following the horizon for miles upon miles…

“…I…” He coughed, mouth dry as a cold wind passed over them, “…I can see the Valik armada…”

“…Spirits alive... we've made a terrible mistake. We should have left.... w-we should have run... I've never seen so much... we're going to die..."

The air felt different to Geth as the feast slowly came to a close. It did not have that warmth to it, just a hollow cold feeling. For a moment, he was almost consumed by that feeling, lost in it. His mind drifted away from the night for a moment, thoughts looming on what was ahead.. what was to come. His thoughts were quickly snapped away however as Judath spoke. Turning, he watched him wink only to give him the one second sign. Watching him go off, he paused in his dish collecting and turned to one side of the ship, where Abbigale and Perc sat with many of the dirty dishes and a telescope. Looking down through the telescope, he gave the blue-haired woman a thumbs up and Geth watched as she dropped it. The man chuckled as it seemed to have made contact with something. Lord. He hoped it was a barn.

Clearing his throat, he watched the two turn, only for Perc to raise an eyebrow. "Oh I thought you'd be canoodling with the cap'n already. What's up curly?"

"Well.. I need your help with something.. actually. You see, when I was talking to Nathan earlier, he was talking about not wanting to be here. We're all terrified or at least a little nervous I figure.. but Nathan... He looked awful. And he hasn't even gotten a chance to see his fiance at all. So I was wondering.. if you could.. help me through him off the ship..?"

As he spoke, Perc just stared at him for a moment, equal parts dumfoundedness and mischievousness in his eyes. He really couldn't believe that of all people, the former royal would be the one to ask this, but at the same time it made a s**t ton of sense.

"Whattya think blue?"

---

Below deck was far from peaceful. Or at least. Not for two of the crew members. They'd been bickering, although as always, Giselle's voice was the only one they could hear. "I said no Morgan. I'm all full of nerves and I don't want to. I just want to try to relax and-"

"I don't care."

"I know but-"

"Stop trying to hold things over me!"

"I'm serious."

Those and other such phrases filled the air, making many people irritable. Or well, maybe it was just Ysmir. Arthur was settled somewhere near his sister and everyone else was preoccupied with something or another. Even Cameron was in his own little world, though it seemed to be breaking as the argument continued. Sighing in frustration, the brunette rose from his first aid kit and started walking away from the sound of their argument and upwards to the deck, knowing better to get in the middle of their squabbling.

Carnifex meanwhile, tapped his pen lightly on his paper, ears seeming totally deaf to the voices coming from one of the storage rooms nearby.

---

Laughing some as Wrech scooped her up, Marie proceeded to hold on tight to him and lean into him. Once up, she listened to his words as he tried to explain things to her she already knew, smiling all the while as she simply unbuckled her overalls, leaving her in just a t-shirt. Hooking the suit onto the wires, so it wouldn't blow away, she continued to listen to him, only looking up as he stopped and coughed.

She was confused at first by his actions, not understanding what it was he was seeing. As he revealed as much to her though, she, too looked over, frowning at what she couldn't see, but knew was there.. Scanning the horizon, she took it in, before turning back to Wrech.

Moving closer to him, she took his chin in her hand, averting the ships away from the armada and onto her. She then proceeded to look at him before taking a deep breath. "Look it's not too late... If that's how you feel. You can leave. I won't stop you nor will Judath or any of the other's... I'm not going to guilt you or try to convince you everything'll be okay.. because I'm not sure it will be, it's just a gut feeling," she said, looking at him closely before looking back to where he'd said he saw the armada. She then lightly removed her hand and placed it back in her lap.

Staring off, her hair furled and whipped around in the wind and dark eyes tried to focus to see anything other than clouds and star...
PostPosted: Wed Aug 27, 2014 8:44 pm

Abbigale wasn’t quite sure how to take the proposal at first, casually chucking one of the plates behind her as she considered the suggestion—quite sure it would only hand on the roof of that isolated little burg. Tapping her finger against her chin, she shrugged at the end of it, a little grin on her face.

“Sure, why the hell not. I’m all for depriving my friends and co-workers the basic human dignity of being able to make their own hard choices. When do we start?”

Of everyone below deck, there was only one person who seemed to care even a little bit about the ruckus in the storage room, just behind the door. That individual rolled their eyes at the sound of Gisille’s voice, and slowly got up to their feet, without saying a word to those around them. The sound of their feet against the wooden floor was loud, shuffling, warning the two of their arrival should they be paying enough attention—it was the only warning they would get, however, because the door was soon pulled open and Isabelle’s head would pop in through the cracks.

“If you need some relief, Morgan, maybe give this bird her wings for an evening, hm? Care to see what the crotch of a woman with this face looks like?” She slouched inside, her lead crow pecking at her face, happily popping the ripe sores and consuming the juices inside.

“Of course if you insist on raping Giselle I’m going to want to watch. Makes this old woman all tingly, I hope my gratuitious moans of self-pleasure won’t be too distracting, but the captain said it was a night off for all of us, if I’m not mistaken…”

“No, n-no, I… I can’t leave, not with you and the baby still here, I…” He exhaled, turning to her then craning his head to gaze back at the armada. “…have you seen it? A whole armada lined up, ship to ship? In the whole of recorded history, two nation’s airship armada had never waged war against the other, head-to-head, ship to ship… to see so many Valik ships of steel and wire lined up, and… knowing there’s another controlled by the Palistine and… both want to kill us I just… I’m overwhelmed.”

“We’re both on the ship tomorrow. So many cannons, guns, mortars, all aimed at us… there’s going to be hellfire in the skies and there’s no ship in the world fast enough to outfly it.”

“…I don’t think anyone will escape being charred…”

Frowning at Abbigale's phrasing, Geth watched as both gazes turned to him only for him to stop. It was then that he realized, well, he honestly wasn't sure. "Well, Judath'll be expecting me and the longer I take... the more impatient he'll get. And one I get in there there's no getting out unnoticed. Judath was high-strung before and he's even worse now that Alexander is m.i.a," he said with a frown before looking to some of his fellow crewmates," but it'll be hard to do anything of the sort without Nathan drawing the attention of someone or another."

"So you don't know," Perc asked flaty, just to see the man before him frown. "Well, if we wanna do it now, we could probably drop him out a port hole or something. I imagine."

The two had not heard the footsteps of the old woman. In fact, it was not until Isabel had opened the door that they even realized their voices had been heard, at which point both of them shut up. Turning her way, both of them listened to what she had to say, only for Morgan to release a deep sigh of irritation. "I'm not going to rape her. I just thought I could spend some time with my girlfriend before we both are shot to bits by the Velican armada," she said in annoyance before shaking her head and grumbling," whatever I'm going to bed."

As she left, green eyes followed, only to land on the old woman who Morgan had left her behind with. Staring for a moment, she seemed to think before closing her eyes and sliding down to a sitting position against the wall. "Thanks, I think," she said as she let her heart rate slow and her breathing calm. She had gotten her adrenaline pumping it seemed and the reason why was clear when one looked at her bruised wrist and forearm. Seemed Morgan forgot the strength in her metal arm from time to time. "I'm sorry I called you a crazy b***h earlier," she added as an after thought," you were right to be suspicious of me. I was rotten to the lot of you."

Looking at the empty air, Marie considered his words and proceeded to lean against him, head gently touching his shoulder. "Maybe, or maybe not.. We have a lot better of a chance than the lot of them though. As long as we manage to successfully get a Palenstinian ship, we'll be behind the front and can slip in and out... It won't be perfect, but I think it'll work.. somehow.."
