Hagrid opened his mouth to say something but smiled and nodded.
"Yeah I guess yer righ'. Don' want tha' ter happen again?" hagrid said filling a kettle up with water and setting it over the fire. "So, how' yeh been?"
"good." Kida lied immediately.

"What about you Hagrid? how have you been?" Kida asked, quick to draw the subject away from her and her well being.
"Oh, Me an' Fang III are fine. WE had a rough Summer though. Had ter go an' get some Flessh Eatin' slug repellent again fer teh plants ou' back."

"What about the thesrals, Hagrid?" asked Durey.
"Wha do ye mean?" asked Hagrid.
"They look a little pail," said Durey.
"Oh tha," said Hagrid. "Well, tha thesrals are dyin'," said Hagrid with a depressed look.

Kida looked up, tears in her eyes. her eyes wide with terror and a horror struck look on her face. When she spoke her words sounded strangled. "What?"

Kida was sputtering.
"But...but....but....they're....can't you do something....i mean....i...they....that is i mean to say....oh bullox..." She said begining to cry again. She ran outside and went to the little paddock where Hagrid kept the thestrals. she slowed down and approached one, slowly, and it allowed her to approach, so she wrapped her arms around it's neck. It sensed her great sadness and let out a mournfull cry and hugged her back by pressing it's chin against her back.
"Is there nothing we can do for you?"

Durey went over to her, and held her hand. "It's OK, the Minister of Magic will probably find a way to make these thesrals live," said Durey, petting the partly-dead winged horse. "I think these purple wings are cool!"

"Oh Hagrid don't you start. I'm going up to the castle first thing and i'm going to the library to check all the books on Magical Creatures for care of thestrals." Kida said, patting his hand reassuringly.
"Well, what have we here? Why aren't you two up in the Great Hall eating your dinners?" A professor said behind them, making all three of them jump.
"Oh, 'ello Professor Leksha((Arma Leksha)). I was just givin' these two a look see a' teh thestrals. They didn' wan' ter wait and I didn' see why they should." Hagrid said blowing his nose loudly and putting his tablecloth sized napkin in his pocket.
"Speaking of them are they alright? They seem a bit worse..." She said, gazing over their heads at the thestrals. "No matter, let's get you two inside and eating before someone else sees you."
Kida nodded and gave her thestral another hug.
"Don't worry Hagrid. I'm not going to give up on these thestrals." She said, giving him as much of a hug as she could. Hagrid hicupped and gave her a pat on the back sending them off.

Nergal sat outside. He wasn't much of a people person. He sighed "I hate this school." he said to himself. He looked in his bag and pulled out a rather frayed, large book and began reading.
