Koa_waylander To be honest even though I really liked Science I wouldn't do a degree in it, it is a really full on course any kind of science. Like 30 uni hours a week. I recently thought about doing a double degree of Law and Environmental Science, but I thought it would be a bit of a hassle because I wouldn't be able to use the suggested timetable over the five or six years.

My current course is five years - three years to go after this semester. I could never be a doctor, wouldn't be able to handle it.

What in particular, too much work or too difficult?

Too much blood and everything... that's one of the reason I didn't become a vet, which was another career pathway I was looking at. And if I didn't like too much work or difficulty I wouldn't be doing law.

Not what I meant, I meant more like the fact that it takes like 8-10 years before you are a qualified doctor and during that time you have like 40 hours at uni a week gives you very little time to work or to earn any money. So your life is basically on hold for like 8 years. That's what i meant, not that your course is easy, that medicine is stupidly involved.

I don't mind the time it would take to become a doctor, I don't mind studying, I just don't like the job.

I think it would be okay if you went into private practice. That way all you have to deal with is people with the flu and annual check-ups for anything serious all you do is send them to the hospital.

Yeah, but I thought you had to deal with that other stuff, at least in part, while learning, and for a period of time when you finish studying...

Yeah I think you do but I dunno for how long I don't think its that long because any of the doctors in Private practice that I go to don't seem to be that old.
