Mahna growled angrily everytime a drunken man passed him, or offered him ale. He was not one to lose himself to any substances, especially if it was of his choosing. His nerves grew worse, and he was begining to grow paranoid.
He summoned the power of his jeweled card, which rose to become a forehead jewel, and appeared completely human. He was around 6 feet tall, and had a dark complexion. His long blonde braids waved behind him as he made his way to the Bar.

Bronwyn gave a sigh as the serving maid was deterred by yet another drunken advance. This time, she giggled after being pulled into the man's lap, curling herself comfortably around him.
"I'll be right back." She told Inese before getting up and carefully threading her way across the crowded room to the Bar. There were several other people there, and Bronwyn waited several moments before impatiently slapping her hand on the bar to get the barkeep's attention. He glared at her and turned away to take the order of a mostly drunk man standing on the opposite end of the bar. She gave another sigh and waited.
A man on her left leaned on the bar giving her a lewd grin as he let his eyes wander down her body, making Bronwyn feel like shrinking away.
"Whatcha doing, girlie?" He asked, his voice heavy with the smell of alcohol. He moved foward to put an arm around her shoulder. Bronwyn's skin crawled, and she pushed his arm off.
"Nothing with you." She snapped. The man glared at her and she turned away to face the bar again, ignoring the mutionus look on the man's face.

Upon arriving at the bar, Mahna ordered some water and meat. He sat there patiently, examining the other customers around the bar. One man was a little to drunk and near to him for his comfort, but there was nothing he could do about it.
A rather large man approached him, blade in hand, and spoke, "Thats a pretty jewel you got there, give it here." He indicated towards the Card Jewel on Mahna's forehead.
Mahna's eyed him up and down before answering. "Take it from me." He replied. Then he lunged hard and quick at the mans stomach, knocking the air out of him.
"Thats.... Enough......" The man gasped, as he tried a counter attack of his own, that only resulted in him crying of a broken shoulder.
Mahna looked him over, a disgusted look on his face. "Move out." He said softly, before turning to make his way back to the bar. The jewel on his forehead glowing softly.

Leo walked through the city of Rinon, trying to find a place to stay for the night. The salty air that surrounded the city helped him stay awake. This was good, because after almost a whole day of walking with little rest, Leo needed the assistance. He decided he'd buy a horse before he left the city.
Finally, Leo spotted an Inn & Tavern called The Red Goblet. He walked inside and was overtaken by the warmth of the fire. He spotted the innkeeper at a check in desk. Leo walked up to the desk and asked, "Do you have any rooms left?" The innkeeper nodded. Leo smiled, took his coin pouch out, and handed the innkeeper some coins. The innkeeper nodded and handed Leo a brass key.
"You're up on the second floor, first door to your right."
"Thank you." Leo said. He walked over to the bar and took a seat. As tired as he was, he knew that he needed to talk to some local people. In his experience, taverns were the best places to gather information. People talked openly about what they'd heard about this place or that, and Leo was always happy to share anything he knew.
Leo looked around and noticed a man on the ground clutching his shoulder. Another guy was standing over him. Tyler watched the scene out of the corner of his eyes. He watched the second man turn back to his meal. He noticed that the man had a jewel on his forehead, and that the jewel was glowing. Definitely a card power.

Bronwyn finally placed her order with the barkeep, who rather grumpily poured her a milk and an ale, then overpriced her rather more cheerfully. She paid him with a scowl and turned walk back to Inese. The man who had advanced on her earlier blocked her way. She started to move around him, when she felt the p***k of a dagger in her side.
"No one makes fun of me, girlie." He hissed in her ear. "Now get rid of those drinks. We're going for a walk." He said, smiling at her unpleasantly. Bronwyn glared at him and dumped both glasses down the front of the man's shirt. He swore and backed up, drawing his knife along her side as he she likewise pushed herself back against the bar. She drew a breath in sharply as the knife bit lightly into her side.
With a roar, the man charged forward at her, and Bronwyn quickly moved aside. He lashed out, clipping her and sending her tumbling to the floor. She smacked her head hard on the floor and saw spots as the man moved forward.

Leo watched as the man drew a knife on the brown haired girl. Everything was happening quickly. Leo didn't take time to think. He reacted on instinct. As the man was about to finish of the girl, Leo held up his right hand and mumbled the word, "two."
A small burst of electricity shot out of Leo's hands. The burst hit the man in the back. The man stopped attacking the girl. That was the good news. The bad news was the man was now attacking Leo. The man held his knife like a club. He swung down with a vertical thrust. Leo held up his staff and blocked the attack. The knife cut into the red wood, but not enough to cause any real damage.
((Okay, you finish him.))

Bronwyn tensed herself for the blow, but it never came. She quickly stood up, looking around in confusion before realizing what was going on. A man had come to her rescue and was now being assaulted by her attacker. Her hand flew to her sword, but froze as she realized there were too many people around. She didn't have enough room to swing it without hitting several other people.
With a curse, she twisted her hands in a complicated gesture, muttering under her breath. Her hands got a warm, orangeish glow, and with the last keyword, she threw the spell at the attacker. The spell hit the man square in the back, and was absorbed into him. He stopped, arched his back in silent agony a moment, then collapsed into the floor in a motionless heap. Bronwyn moved forward quickly relieving the unconsious man of his weapon, then gave a smile to her rescurer.
"Thank you." She said. She turned to the barkeep to fight for another drink. To her surprise, he had already poured her replacement glasses and was serving another customer. With a sigh, she picked up Inese's milk and the ale and then turned to the man, oblivious to all the stares from the nearby patrons. "Want one?" She asked.

"No thanks, I've got my own drink."
Leo held up his water. He smiled.
"So, does this type of thing happen to you a lot?"
Leo looked around at the other patrons of the bar. Everyone was staring at them. You'd think that they would have something better to do, but apparently not. He smiled at one of the other patrons and held up his right hand as a joke. The patron quickly ducked for cover, and the other patrons glanced away quickly.

Bronwyn shook her head and gave a sigh.
"More often than I'd like." She said. She gave a smile at the man as he mocked some of the staring patrons. "I've got a friend waiting..." she trailed off, gesturing in Inese's direction. "Care to join us?"

"Sure. Why not."
Leo followed the brown haired woman through the bar. "Hey, I forgot my manors. My names Leo."
He took one last look at the unconcious man on the floor as they walked away. He thought that he saw the man twitch for a second, but was pretty sure he'd been imagining things.

"I'm Bronwyn." She replied, leading him through the room to her table near the back. She slid into her seat and set the milk down in front of the younger girl. She gestured for Leo to sit and took a long drink of her ale.
"Leo, this is Inese. Inese, Leo." She said, then looked over at Leo. "So what brings you to Rinon, sir?" She asked, leaning back. Her side ached slightly and she glanced down to see a trickle of blood running down her side and wetting the side of her shirt. The wound was superficial, and probably wouldn't even leave a scar. She reached down to her pack and started looking for a bandage, glancing up at Leo in curiousity.

Inese looked up and nodded in acknowledgment to this new man, he seemed friendly enough and the sparks from his lightning hand were visible from the table and in her experience anyone who would take a risk like that for a stranger was ether a good friend or a cunning enemy, she didn't feel like being paranoid tonight so friend it was.
She put the spice back and grabbed the one next to it, it also had characters, different ones, and a sweeter, somewhat smoky smell.
((Sorry for the mostly irrelevant post, a bit dull in the mind at the moment, going to bed soon.))

Leo watched Inese smell the spice for a second before answering. "I'm just passing through. I'm not really sure where I'm going though."
Leo looked back at the bar and noticed that a couple of men were staring at them. No, they were staring at him. Leo stared back for a second. He felt his heart jump. But no... He couldn't have followed him here. It wasn't possible.
Leo tried to force himself to calm down as he turned his attention back to his new aquantences. "So, do you live here, Bronwyn?"
((Like this bar hasn't had enough fights, now I'm going to start a third. Unless you guys object.))

Mahna watched the fight from his seat, his curiousity aroused now that the man had obviously used a card power. He moved to unconcious man on the ground and relieved the power of his jewel. He suddenly glowed with a light blue aura, as the illusion from the card disappeared. He growled, and picked the man up, before walking to the door with him to hurl him out.
After he had cleaned up his mess, he moved to the 2 women and the man. His appearance shocked many around him, and he folded his wings tightly behind him. "Perhaps one of you could help me with this?" He said as he drew the jewel, which now formed into a 2 card of the clubs suit.
