aaarhus People have reason to think something will happen come 2013 (actually near the end of 2012 in December... close enough) because of the Mayan calendar... it either cycles or ends at that date. So, people expect something big is going to happen. At least what will is that our solar system is going to be perpendicular with the rest of the universe and such. (The line of stars is going to be perpendicular to the disk that is our milky way.) And of course these searches for the "end of the world" has NOTHING to do with the fact that we live in THE age of uncertainty? neutral Come on. No-one knows what the ******** the future holds anymore. Technology is developing faster than most of us can understand it and scientists have unearthed five million ways for humans to find an insignificant end by the hands of the universe. Science has confirmed that we are just a little planet in a big universe with no-one out there to help us but ourselves, so is it any wonder that people have started cooking up their own ideas of how we are going to die? If anything, these other end of the world theories associated with "something big happening" are a way for people to feel important, a way to hide themselves from the common conception that we're all pretty meaningless and if the world does end anytime soon it's probably not going to be down to the hand of a God.

Reinos_beloved Joshua_Ritter You mean Apocalypse.
How is otherkin a different race, more alike then the rest of humanity?
I mean, ********, it'd be cool if the world ended, but it'd also suck beyond all belief. So don't be disappointed if it doesn't come true. Look, I can see into the future to a certain degree.(visions at random) And so far I have been correct in everything I've seen. What I saw was a war between human and other kin. Only one race can survive, the other must perish. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't even make a low budget fantasy film with that plot.

Not because I'm trying to be rude..but it just needs to be said and my patience is wearing really really really thin.
It's all been said before. If I had a penny for every time a "ZOMGKINWAR" thread broke out in an otherkin forum, I'd be richer than Bill Gates. The odds of some spiritual warfare breaking out is slim to none. In fact, it's about as likely as all of the otherkin randomly turning into their 'true selves'. Which would also have to mean that all of the otakukin would also wind up turning into their 'true selves'. Which would mean that we'd have about half a million Sephiroths running around for no good reason at all. =/
No, there is no big war coming. No, the world is not going to end, and if it is, there's s**t all we can do about it. Furthermore, you nor anyone else is 'special' nor 'destined' to save us from some imaginary threat.
Ever occur to you that there's a percentage of this is just in your head? My eyes change color too, apparently it's with my mood, but you don't see me trying to tack some supernatural explanation onto it. And the hair thing? Hair color isn't permanent. It can change over time. That's just the way things are.
Sorry to try and burst your bubble, I'm just absolutely sick and tired of seeing this kind of bullshit occupy space where perfectly valid and intelligent conversation could be.

I honestly wouldn't have cared much about this post in the sense that you don't care about people talking about an "end of world", except that you quoted my post and it honestly looks like you're assuming I said something about the end of the world, when simply I mentioned the Mayan calendar and 2012. ... sweatdrop Honestly... um... what are you getting at here? I especially didn't mention anything about god in my post. Or of something big in the way you're talking of like a worldwide extinction of at least the human race. From what I have read, our solar system becomes perpendicular to the milky way... or something along those lines. It's a huge event that is probably the reason why that date has significance if nothing else to the Mayans. Even running this on a simulator while in astronomy I could see this... I did it as my final project in the class: pick a significant date, explain its significance, and then show what the sky would look like from your position. If you look at where most of the stars are, they do form a line (in the sense of drawing a line where the "average" on a graph would be), and then looking at the planets that show up on the chart... yeah, perpendicular lines. Grand astronomical event, and it's a cycle and the Mayan calendar starts again. And again I say I didn't say a thing about the world ending... sweatdrop

Azana Brown Blind Guardian the 2nd Is me or is there always "something going on"? My sentiments exactly. Everyone keeps going on about the end of the world and such, various special "missions" they're on... Why does one's mission have to be special in the first place? What's wrong with just being here to help a few people enrich their lives? Or to try and gain understanding of the universe and its workings? And why does it all have to end, especially so soon? I very much doubt the idea that this experiment we call humanity has run its full course. Besides, with the way things are going, we'll destroy ourselves with mundane means long before anything supernatural has to do it for us. Jason Louv, author of Generation Hex, "Like apocalypse, awakening is an event that has been "just around the corner" for thousands of years now, posited by every generation. It seems to be an integral part of the human experience to project these endgame scenarios into the near future in order to enact the consequences within the present, to either draw conviction from them or to assist in hoodwinking others. People often can't see far enough beyond their own skins to conceptualise change without it being terminal - if one is to die, then the world must end as well; if one is to be judged, then so must the world; if one is to be enlightened, then certainly all must follow the same route. Since such a cataclysmic event never comes (and thank goodness!), though we may all undergo periodic holocaust and liberation, it seems clear that we are forbidden from abdicating responsibility for our existences by relying on the crutch of endgame."

Reinos_beloved aaarhus Reinos_beloved It's sort of the same here, the other kin in my area are constatly feeling drained. Also we are eating more food than usual and are Loosing weight! We have noticed that people have been giving us funny looks and teachers at my highschool have seemingly become tougher on the other-kin. Um... I've been monitoring my weight since there is a scale on display at the place I work. I used to bump around at 155-160lbs. For some reason now I'm at 154... and... yeah, I'm working, but it's like eating food does next to nothing for my weight. I can't really say there is a relationship between that and being otherkin though... sweatdrop well when your eating like 6 choclote bars and lots of carbs, your suppose to pick up weight not loose it...I'm not even very active either You could be losing muscle content and gaining fat content. Fat is lighter than muscle. That's basically what happens to me every sommer... XD I'm sorry; this is old, but.... Yeah...

I forgot to mention... sweatdrop I work stocking things overnight, and I'm getting stronger, I know that. I don't notice any muscle build up... but... I've been eating and such... but the weight just seems to be gradually going down or something. Very slowly possibly... Then again, someone at work who is like 230lbs said that my frame and such I'm probably at the right weight range.
