I've started reading The Subtle Knife. I'm only on the third chapter, but already I can feel Phillip Pullman hinting at atheism. confused

wanting whats gone IndefatigableAnaphora IndefatigableAnaphora I'm going to see The Golden Compass tomorrow! Yay! biggrin Ughhh...it sucked. I want my money back. mad Really I loved it!!! What didn't you like about it? Mostly, I was just pissed that I had to pay $9 to see it. But what made me hate it: not one drop of blood. Not a drop. I have to have gore. And there were battles in the book, so why was there no blood! scream Even when Iorek knocks off Ragnar's jaw, no blood. And of course, it ends before they could *gasp, oh-no we can't do that!* kill Roger. And it still got a PG-13 rating. Phhht... That movie gets one star from me. mad
I need to go watch 300 now. 3nodding

Unfortunately, I'm poor so I have to wait until someone either let's me borrow the movie from them or until the price is 10 dollars in stores. So it could be awhile before I see it. Although I've read all of the books and they were awesome. I didn't like the way they ended the trilogy though. I don't remember why I didn't like it, but I do remember I didn't like it. Then again most of the series or trilogy books I read I don't like the ending of. On The Chronicles of Narnia series the last book was pretty bad in my opinion, well the story part of it was. The ending of the series was ok though. You know what pissed me off about the movie on The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, was the fact that they started with the second book in the series, not the first one. Which is called The Magician's Nephew I believe.

The only thing I saw in the way of blood was a cut on Peter's face. Now, don't get me started on my blood rant. It might go on forever. whee

I kind of liked the way the His Dark Materials triology ended. It was diffrenet from most books. Cause when you started the book you expected it to be like every other book and have Will save Lyra and them fall in love and live together happlly for the rest of there lives. So I liked the way it was unexpected and different.

I love the series and now I've suckered myself into doing a science project on the first book for prechem (and it's all on physics????)...ahh- the 'joys' of teaching yourself quantum physics (or should I say the headaches???) my brain hurts!!! crying sometimes being a bookworm can be bad. (thankfully, not usually smile )

This series is AMAZING! I could talk about them forever!!! I cried when I finished reading them. I wanted them to go on forever. Even though the author is a non-god believer it doesn't really show in the books. I am really angry with the people that won't read it because of this.

I know that makes me very angry! I'm a non-beliver in god and i still read Life of Pie. People need to learn not to judge a book by the author!
