Lucifer sighed, the forests edge was so pretty and the city was just in sight. He looked back one last time, the shadows looked lonely, gloomy and depressing compared to the glittering lights and tall buildings just in sight. He took one last breath in the shadows and started to run. As he ran the city seemed to grow closer and brighter. With in minutes he was walking the streets effortlessly. People passed him, some wearing smiles, some frowns but all full of the energy that was the city.
He wandered the streets for what seemed like hours, admiring the sights and sounds. The further he walked the lighter his heart became. He was grinning foolishly and laughing as if he had not a care in the world when he finally reached a park with a huge fountain in its center. He walked to the fence around the fountain and leaned on it turning to watch the people. They all seemed happy, most looked like tourists, happy families just here for a getaway. Others were city residents; they were a little less happy but seemingly content to walk the sidewalks and bike down the paths. Cabs passed and bussed zoomed by, the sounds of traffic were heard over the fall of water from the fountain behind him.

Kevin sighed, it was finally dark out. He had not been able to leave the Shadows until night, that was when his power was more powerful. Walking out of the warehouse that had served as a base for him, he moved his hands in a circular motion around his body... He was gone. In reality, he was just covered by the shadows he loved so much. Then he bagan to walk towards the city, it was easy to find what with the bright lights and such. That was when the first snake came. Reaching out of the shadows that surrounded him, Kevin lightly patted the snakes head. Using his second power, he began to speak to the snake. Come here darling, come here and let me tell you something. The snake edged closer and looked straight into Kevin's eyes, a good sign. I need you to do something for me. Go down to the city... If you find anything unusual, come tell me, I will be there too. The snake turned away and began to slither towards the city.
Kevin arrived in the city. Releasing the shadow, he marched through the suburbs and through the downtown. Finally coming to a hotel, he walked in and rented a room for an indefinite amount of time, money was not a problem. Kevin walked into the large room and sat down on the bed, pulling off his shoes before laying down and closing his eyes...
He had been sent here to complete a mission, and he would do just that... tomorrow.

Maddy sighe, she walked over to her windowsill. Down below her was nothing but pure darkness. It was suffocating the light and soon would be taking complet and total controll. She smirked, it was her time to go out. She wasn't much of a day person, ever since her brother died. It was day when they pronounced him dead. It was day when they found him. Day time certinly did follow her family and bring death along with it. Or maybe she was insane, she was the only one that thought anythign of the timing.
She looked around, back and forth, forth and back. She couldn't see anyone that'd possibly tell her parents that she was sneaking out. She had a tendancy to sneak out, it came with her lack o freedom. Her parents thought she was a troubled kid, they always thought SHE'D be the one out of the two to fall in with the wrong crowd. But she wasn't like that. She fell into the shadows insted of a group.
She slid slowly down the pole, dispite the darkness, she had done this nermours times. She sighed and lurked among the shadows when the coast was clear she began her walk. She spotted someone, btu it wasn't anyone she knew, so they most likely didn't know her parents. It looked like a boy her age, but then again she was quite a ways a way. She didn't want to risk it. So she slowly edged away and out of his line of territory.

Kevin was surprised as the snake he had spoken to earlier crept over his chest. Not uncomfortable, no, never that... Just surprised, he loved snakes. Once again, his voice lowered to a hiss and he began to speak a strange language. "What did you find darling?" The snake whispered in its language about Lucifer and Kevin leapt up pulling the hood over his eyes. "Come with me..." The snake, happy with the idea, crept up Kevin's leg and settled on his shoulder. If a snake could relax, that was exactly what it was doing. Following the directions it whispered in his ears, he finally found Lucifer and the girl nearby. Muttering to himself, he sighed. "I wonder if their both run-away Hidden?" The snake gave him an answer. "Only the boy..." Kevin grinned, it would be much easier to manage only one of them. Into the jacket, I can't have you see them." The snake did what it was told, and Alex walked up behind the girl... or was it a boy? "Hello." He said, making sure the jacket was over his strange eyes. "Do you know that boy?" He asked innocently as the snake coiled around his arm.

Maddy watched the boy and the snake communicate back and forth, stunned. Her lips froze when he aproched her. She inched away from him, her eye's lockedon the snake. She reached forth and gently stroked her knuckled gently along the back of the snake. Smiling slightly she forced ehr gace up the the hood coverd face. She slowly reached forward and took hold of his hood, pulling it back she shook her head no. Her lips just didn't collor. She parted them to finally breath. She inhaled deeply, followed by a soft hissing noise of an exhale. "N-no..I d-don't.."

Kevin hissed slightly as he realized that Maddy had heard him talk to the snake. Looking out from under the deep hood, he grabbed her hand and shuddered, her hand was to warm. Releasing it, he whispered. "Do not touch me, or my pet." Pushing the snakes head back under his sleeve, he glared at her for a moment. Moving his gaze to the boy, yellow eyes glinted in the street lamp. Trying to convince her that he was crazy instead of actually being able to speak to snakes, he needed to protect his secrets from the foolish girl. Turning away, Kevin pulled out a small cigarette and lit it, taking a long drag before looking at the girl sucpiciously. "Then what're you standing around for?"

Maddy glared back, her eye's an icy blue. She grabbed his wrist like he had down to her. Slamming it agains't the wall. She growled lightly. "Am I a little sick, or a little sane?" She whisperd, in her sing song vioce. She was almost singing. It was a song she knew. She smiled lightly, it came out a mangled smirk. "What do you mean what am I doing out here...I live on this street. I don't like the day time.." Her teeth gleamed in the light. The price of her last name being Fang, she thought she was part Vampris. She smiled darkly and let go of the boy's hand. Pulling the ciggrett from his mouth she put it the the ground and squashed it. "And I didn't touch you, I touched your hood, as for your snake, yes I did touch the snake." She bent down so her head was looking at his sleve. "Sorry.." She whisperd to the snake, she wouldn't offer the man an apoligie.

Kevin sighed and made sure that, even though she had touched his hood, she hadn't moved it enough to see his eyes. "What was that for?" He asked as he touched where his wrist had been scraped against the wall. Muttering to himself he sighed. "How rude..." Tucking his hand into a pocket, the snake moved from the sleeve and coiled around Kevin's chest, he could tell that it was repulsed by the strange girl as well. Her blue eyes made him shudder and once again, he reached up absent-mindedly to make sure she couldn't see the upper-half of his face. Most importantly, his eyes. He looked at the Hidden boy, he still walked down the sidewalk, it seemed like he hadn't even noticed them yet.
