Kane nodded and laid on his side, alert but trying to relax around the gamma. "Thanks for helping me learn." He said, tail wagging. His northern instincts clashed with his teen hood outside of the North. He didn't need to be a cold hearted loner all the time, he could be nice.Ravenfall was proof that northerners, even ex-northerners could lighten up.

"S'no problem, kiddo." The gamma couldn't help but notice how alert the youth was and... Well, he couldn't really blame him for it at all. The Northern life was a tough and harsh one. If a pup made it this far, that was a feat in it's own right.
Even Ravenfall, who was happy with his life in the newly formed pack, was known to be more on the aloof side and often had trouble sleeping deeply. He was almost always on alert, especially when alone.
In an attempt to put Kane at ease, the big black and indigo male laid down and rolled on his back in a puppy-like fashion, then pawed at the air playfully. It was very out of character for him, but he could think of little else to do. He gave Kane a wide grin, then hopped up and sat in a playful stance, with his paws splayed out before himself and his rump up in the air.

Kane watched, a grin slowly forming at the sight of the older male's playful antics. "What are you doing?" He asked, returning the play bow with his rump also in the air, tail wagging. It appealed to his instincts and to his playful side. He did start to relax around him, by now he was surely not a threat right? Not when he was acting like this, he couldn't mean any harm.

"Trying to make you feel more comfortable, duh." Ravenfall replied with mock sarcasm as he wagged his tail briskly and pawed playfully at the younger Helix. "And it seems to have worked." He pointed out as he sat back on his haunches and chuckled lightly.
"Where'll you be headed, if you don't stay here in the Neutral territory, huh?" He couldn't help but to be interested. Game was easy here and the weather was so much more mild than it was up North. He liked it here with his new pack.

Kane was momentarily embarrassed. He should have known that answer. "Oh...uh, oops?" He cocked his head to one side. Then he grinned and grew excited. "I'm going to travel everywhere! Meet everyone I can! I want to be an alpha someday!" His tail wagged before he caught himself and sat on the wiggling appendage, trying to act composed and mature again. Oh man, he did not just act like a pup...!

"Alpha, huh? Wow, that's some aiming, kiddo. You gonna 'ead back North? I don't think I want to ever head that way again. Too cold for my liking, in temperature and as far as other helixes went." The easy going Gamma stretched out on his stomach, resting his black and indigo furred head on his paws.

Kane shook his head no. "I'm not heading back north yet. Still need to meet a few more ranks....and a God or Goddess if I'm lucky enough. Need to learn about all ranks before I could lead anybody. I will go back home eventually though, the North IS rough but it's my home."

"Well, too each his own, I suppose. Hopefully fortune will favor you well in your journeys, kiddo." The indigo and black helix stood slowly and offered the younger Northerner a lopsided grin. The little one had spunk and determination, something that he had lacked as he was growing. He had merely wanted to find a place to call home, not create one.

Kane pondered to himself for a minute then stood up. "I think I'm done with questions now. Thank you for answering them. It's been nice talking to you Ravenfall, I haven't talked to another from the North in a long time." He sighed, missing home. He stretched and looked at the sky. Somewhere in a snowy place way back when he was a pup there was a home for him. Abandoned by pack he lost that home but earned another in the North. Hopefully he'd still be able to adapt back into life once he returned there.

"No problem, I'm here to help." He replied with an easy smirk, then sat back on his haunches and pawed at an itch that had begun to fester behind his dark ears. Once he was satisfied and the culprit scratched away, he relaxed once more. "And if you ever head back this way, I would surely like to see you again. Want I should take you to the river? Plenty of fresh prey there to munch on, if you wish to gather your strengths before moving on, that is. The fish down here are quite tasty."

Kane blinked at the offer. "I've never fished before." He admitted, interest peeked. "I'm willing to learn." He stood up, smelling the air. He couldn't smell the river from here. "Yeah, could you show me the way? I can't tell which direction it's in." He admitted, a little embarrassed. He sounded like such a confused pup. His belly growled, proving his hunger.

"Right you are, s'this way."
The gamma stood to his full height once more and plodded along in the direction of the river. It was the very same that he had first met his current alpha, Eden. It smelled sweet and refreshing, once the wind shifted in their favor and offered the beautiful smell.
"Fish is good. Never had it 'til I got down here, either. Makes you look like a fool when trying to catch 'em, though."

Kane padded alongside him, listening carefully. "Is there a trick to it?" He questioned, enjoying the colorful scenery. It was sad that snow made everything a blinding white. The wind smelled really nice, he kept an eye on where he was.

"Just practice and a little bit of luck." He chuckled as he came to the river's damp banks, with the younger helix in tow. The light breeze was comforting and the scent of spring on the wind was relaxing, as was the lovely singing of the birds.
He would of been lying if he said he didn't love it down here, where the land was rich and inviting.
"Try to aim in front of them, and with any luck, they'll spook right into your maw. You just have to be quick."
