Morgan chuckled as the guy continued what appeared to be his incompetent advances. At this rate, he- Oh, damn it. He reached in a pocket and pulled out a thin, green plastic box - about five inches wide and long, and half an inch deep. Morgan tilted it sideways and rotated it. Finding the row of numbers, he pressed the 4 and the 0, followed by the enter key. The surface of the box drew back its cover, and the lends beneath it distorted into a 40x magnification mirror. He tilted it and saw the minuscule beginning of a hair on his chin. He grimaced and drew a pair of tweezers from his pocket. He carefully lined them up with the hair and drew it out from his skin.
Morgan inspected the hair and released it, letting it fall to the ground. He tapped the enter button on the adjustable mirror twice and the cover slid back into place. He returned the mirror and tweezers to their respective pockets.

Jamie looked a little hurt by her coldness and she backed off. "I'm sorry." He said and gave a slight apologetic smile. "Umm, Gods... I did not mean to be rude." He Looked down at his feet. He always felt more comfortable around girl, and girls usually seemed to be more comfortable around him rather than other guys but this one seemed to hate him right off the bat. He sighed softly and bit his bottom lip, staying quite, not wanting to offend her by accident or anything. He looked around at the other recruits…they were all guys, and none of them seemed to be very nice.

Poor b*****d, but he set himself up for that, Morgan thought silently. He glanced at their surroundings and shifted his weight a little. He considered trying to offer some form of conversational escape to the guy, but realized he didn't have any definite idea of how to do so. He concluded that he should stay back for the time being.

Rhiannon cocked an eyebrow. Was this guy for real? Still, she had been rather rude herself, and figured she would have acted differently if it had not been for that Pervert on the shuttle, so she apologised to the Porr recruit Jamie "No, It's okay, I'm just in a bad mood today. Maybe tommorrow or something..." She trailed off, it was wierd, this guy acted more like a girl than many of Rhiannon's friends from back home. Still, he didn't seem like a pilot, so they might not see each other again, unless the academy was different from what she expected.

"I understand, It must be hard for you, your first time on the base and all." He looked down at her, his expression slightly guarded, he did not want to do anything wrong. "May I please ask your name?" He was trying to be polite now, his mind running though the list of manners he knew, there were not many... "It's totally ok if you don't want to tell me, But remember, if you ever do I'm here." He smiled a little and shifted his gaze back down to his feet. He felt awkward and exposed. He had just been humiliated in front of all the new recruits and he knew that this girl who he had hoped would have become his friends thought ill of him.

Heeeee needs help. Morgan had physically winced at the Jamie's awkward "conversation." He pulled one of his most useful items from his pockets - one of the few he hadn't left on the ship - and approached them.
"Hey, either of you want to play a game of cards?" he asked, taking his deck out from its case. He returned the case to its pocket, tucking it in next to his tweezers, and began shuffling the deck.

Rhiannon looked at Jamie for a second before quickly answering "Rhiannon Bell." She went back to her e-book, and completely ignored Morgan when he asked about cards.

Unsurprising. Morgan turned to Jamie. "Just us, then, I suppose," he commented, chuckling a little at Rhiannon. "Ever play Frustration?"

Jamie looked into Morgan's eyes and shook his head. "Umm, no. But I'm not opposed to learning." He smiled at the boy and leaned back on his heels slightly. "Is it fun?" He hoped he was not being tricked or having a prank pulled on him, but this boy seemed nice enough. Maybe he was just trying to keep him from making even more of a fool of himself. He sure hoped so. His bright blue eyes sparkled and un-clasped his hands from behind his back.

Morgan began splitting the deck into two equal halves. "Very fun. But a bit irritating if it lasts more than around half an hour. Basically, you split the deck into two halves and each player gets a half." He sat on the ground and placed one half near Jamie's feet. "You lay four cards out in a row on each side...." He did so. "Then, you flip them all over. Whenever two of them have the same number or the same face - like a queen or whatever - then you take the top card of your deck and slap it facedown on top of each card. That's the basic part. We'll cover why it's called Frustration, and why it takes so long, in a bit."

Jamie nodded and knelt down, crossing his legs as he sat. He laid put his hand on the cards in front of him and waited for the boy to say 'go'. He was an interesting character, and he had no facial hair at all which was a little bit strange but Jamie was not one to judge. "I like your hair style, it's very flattering." He commented absentmindedly. He had an annoying habit of complementing people when he was at a loose for words. Complements often lead to more conversation and he did not want to seem any more socially awkward than he already was.

"Thanks," Morgan replied, his hands brushing his face for hair again. There was none this time. "Ready, steady, go," he called, his right hand shooting out to flip over his cards while his left hand cradled his stack.

Jamie flipped over his cards as well, but a little slower. He placed the two cards over the matches and repeated this action until there were no more matches left, and then he looked up at the boy and awaited instruction. He knew he would lose, but it did not matter, he had made a friend. He shuffled his remaining deck while he waited.

Several times, Jamie had his placement interrupted by Morgan, who was doing the same thing. Morgan, however, received a few interruptions in return.
"No need to shuffle, it'll only make it worse," Morgan informed Jamie with a grin. "Now, here's the part that'll drive you mad." He gathered all four stacks on his side and mashed them together into one pile, then placed them at the bottom of his deck. He then laid down another four cards face down. "See where this is going?"

James glanced up at the mention of Star Wars. It had always been his favorite, ever since, well... I suppose it's just one of those things that stayed with me. The boy who had sputtered it out seemed to be in the midst of a fruitless conversation with a somewhat angry looking girl. They quickly broke off their dialogue, however, and the girl returned to her book. She was standing just a few feet from him, and James thought of interjecting, but he thought better of it. He looked back down at his own data pad, which displayed the very odd series of books he'd just started to read on the shuttle ride down, entitled 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.' He snorted a bit as he read the opening chapter for the third time. This didn't have much to do with science fiction in his opinion, but jeez was it a riot! He erupted into uncontrollable bouts of sniggering every few moments, ignorant of the fact that he was getting lots of funny looks.
