Gah! A hand in his face, a hand covering his own grip on the scalpel, and now he couldn't spin like he wanted to. Vintrict With both arms occupied below, Pip could only weave his head if he wanted to avoid this. This, though, is untrue. Pip had a method of making additional arms at his will, and though he had already felt one of those arms get severed in this match, he also felt a hand on his face that wasn't supposed to be there. As the drawing began etching its way onto Pip's face a pulse of psionic energy would force its way out from those closed eyes. Hopefully this would be powerful enough to remove the hand from his face as his left leg would come up to plant on Zoll's solar plexus and shove off. The leg would be coming up for a kick either way, but without the additional space it would be more likely that he would be kicking in towards the doctor's lead leg. Space would be nice, but breaking his opponent's leg would work as well. Because if the man kept his hand to the boy's face, chances were high that the psionics defense of his face would be distraction enough for the kick to come through. Odd, how quickly Pip could change his mind. First he wants in close, now he wants nothing more then space. Split personalities. Fun times. [/Ooc: Shitpost... Think that I'll take off for the rest of the night. See if a muse visits me in my sleep.]

The force that struck from Pip's head knocked Zoll's hands backwards as he simultaneously kicked upwards to perform a push away. If he was moving away, then he was likely letting go of the weapon, too. The leg struck into his right leg, causing Zoll to start moving backwards himself. Painful, but nothing to worry about. Pip had finally got the breathing space he desired, as about one fourth of the drawing was upon his face in a series of black lines and a few arcs that were trying to draw a circle if they had ever been completed. Though the heated energy died down, a slight cold would be felt instead. For now, he could just take it that the breeze had gotten suddenly cold.
With them spaced for the moment, Zoll dropped down to his right knee, slamming his left palm into the ground, taking the time to draw another one of his symbols, while keeping his head up looking toward Pip with a constant smile. His right hand would have the scalpel lean against his right shoulder for the time being.
"What's the maaatter? Afraid of me?"

Space!
Freedom!
Cold?
Pip wouldn't worry about it as the two combatants were forced apart by his own kick to Zoll's right leg. That and his successful psionic push on the man's left hand to get it away from his face made everything work out as planned. There would be one major difference than expected however. Vintrict then he (Pip) was likely letting go of the weapon, too. Reach The boy's right hand (on the left side of his body) would close down on the shaft of the doctor's weapon with as firm a grip as he could manage, and then he would make that grip firmer. He would use his stored up mental powers and force them inside of his closed grip, making the chances of removing the scalpel from his grasp much slimmer. Pip had a psionically enhanced grip on the doctor's weapon. His own not inconsiderable strength, along with additional mental pressure inwards from his palm would make this grip nigh unbreakable. Or at least that would be what it would seem to be to Zoll, who's only grip on the weapon would be through Pip's own right hand. Pip's leather gloved right hand. And with Zoll's left hand being up beside Pip's face the chances would be slim of the punker grabbing a hold of his own weapon as Pip pulled away with it. Pip would stand back, even taking an extra step backwards (still leaving him about in the center of the island) and check out his prize. It would need to be discarded. Pip knew nothing of polearms, and wouldn't bother trying to learn how to swing one in the middle of a tournament. The lad would fling it, finally releasing his incredible grip, and aim to let the <******** Giant Scalpel go flying over the edge of the plateau. He would of course throw it off to his side to make it nearly impossible for the Doctor to catch it before it went over the edge. Chances were high that the folks in the helicopter would watch the weapon fall all the way down until... Sploosh! "Eggs break easily. Crack, Sizzle and there you have breakfast. Goes well with chicken nuggets." As it fell of course, the young competitor wouldn't be wasting time. He would be replenishing the pool of energy that he had used up with that exchange, and touching his right hand to his left ribcage, brass knuckles still on his fingers... but he wouldn't be anything but gentle either way. "I don't break quite so easily." No Wait- Yes he did. There was at least one broken bone there, and he knew that the bruising wouldn't look pretty once his jacket and shirt were off either. He didn't know about the drawings on his face, though he still felt as though the area around his eyes were icy. But he also felt that he needed to act tough. This tournament was for tough guys, and only a tough guy would be able to help fund a hospital. Only a tough guy would be able to save those poor people with mental illnesses. He had injured the man's arm, and (in all probability) stolen his toy, which might have made that exchange worth while. Maybe. Maybe he could make the next exchange better.

((You got to make me aware that your character is keeping hold of that weapon for future reference. A bad habit to get into is using past references in posts to try to "surprise" the opponent about something written before. While good in some situations, such as planning strategies and giving proof of them, what you just did was try to justify removing the weapon away while not stating if you let go or kept a hold on the weapon during the push away post.
Don't sink into that mentality. I'll be posting accordingly.))
Since Pip didn't let go of the weapon, Zoll would feel a pull on his scalpel, his hand down further near the rear of the weapon as it lengthened out due to them breaking apart. Pretty much, the two were suddenly in a tug o war, a real one, with his weapon. It had stopped Zoll from stumbling anymore with support, and the same will go for Pip. However, even with this changed scenario, the doctor still fell onto his right knee and let his left hand work accordingly, his right hand remaining on the end of his weapon.
"Do you mind giving me back my weeeapon," Zoll asked politely, as the symbol upon the ground finally drew itself to completion (Since there's not much of a change from my last post to this post, other than contesting of the weapon now). That negative energy reeked from this symbol as it remained in the ground. Zoll stood himself back to his feet, letting his left arm rest to his side.
"Or we can stand here and seeee whose the strongest."

[/Ooc: Yeah, sorry about that. Like I said, for that post my muse kind of abandoned me. I had meant to include it in but... either way. Yeah.]
While Zoll was on his knee drawing in the dirt Pip would be dropping as well, just long enough to slam the tip of his baton into the ground in order to collapse his own weapon before sliding it back into its sheath. It would presumably take less time then the doctor's preparation, and so as Zoll began speaking Pip would be slipping his left hand quickly into and out of his jacket.
"I'm not that strong."
The boy would say as he touched what he had palmed to the blade of the scalpel. He had grabbed a taser, which the uses of had only been described to him, but described in depth. He understood what should happen. Even if that wasn't what would actually happen. Pip didn't know anything about circuits, or how electricity acts, but what would happen would be that electricity would travel down the scalpel to meet with Zoll's bare hand that was wrapped around the hilt of the weapon. Because Zoll didn't have both of his hands on the metal, there would be no closed circuit to make the shock enough to put the doctor down for the count, but it should have been more then enough to seize the man's hand and forearm muscles up long enough for one good tug from the youth to pull the scalpel away.
Pip would be immune to the shock due to his leather gloved hands, but his opposition didn't have that same luck. Even if he was lucky enough to let go of the shaft before the shock made its way to him, the youth would still make away with his prize.
He wanted that weapon away from the man that knew how to use it.
"But I make up for it."
Should he make away with the weapon, the boy would do as planned before, with pitching it over the edge.

When a taser was used, it made an electrical buzz that would catch Zoll's ears. He wouldn't be able to react in time as the electricity zapped up the blade, leaving the two standing there as the effect took place. For a moment, nothing seemed to really happen, until Zoll gave a smirk onto his face.
"That was smart. But you should know that many medical scalpels are diamond in composition. Thus, non-conductive."
Diamond was but one of the usual materials that was used to create scalpels, both for quality and safety reasons. It also showed a better practical use of diamond instead of it being for "sharpening" reasons, as the myth went anyway.
"Anyhow, I'll take my weeeapon back."
The weapon glowed in a white light, suddenly shrinking back toward Zoll's hand, leaving Pip's grip in one blink of an eye. With the weapon reverted, it was back to its normal size, now free to be spun around with Zoll's fingers.
"Thus far, you've proven yourself a fooormidable fighter. But come on, do you really expect me to believe that a normal person would have tried to use a taaaser to conduct electricity instead of to stun? However, I think I realize now how your condition works. It's rather simple."
Zoll's left finger pressed against his temple as if he was about to fire a gun.
"Though your conscious is screeewed up, your subconscious is still intellectually intact. This isn't a strange case. Mathematicians and scientists have been knooown to be admitted to mental hospitals due to overwhelming stress. Thus, they retain their intellect, even if they've become wackos. Your stress comes from your psychic powers, no less, so you're practically a little kiiid with a cannon. A little kid who happens to know how to use it. Your conscious interprets your tactics into simple mental analogies. In faaact, with a bit of training, you can decode a lot of riddles and code."
Zoll then shrugged his shoulders.
"You can become a greater asset than what those doctors at your hospital deem you as. So I will like to offer a proposal. How about you become my paaartner. I want to help you develop your skills. There's a lot we can both learn from one another. As an incentive, whether you wiiin this tournament or not, you can earn a consistent salary. How does that sound?"
As Zoll spoke this, he kept a considerable smile upon his face. He saw great potential in this crazy guy. It would take some work, but if this man took his offer with acceptance, then Zoll would be able to acquire a man who may just become one of the greatest friends a person can ever have. And for good reasons, too.
