Lyte blinked, surprised, and happy he still had his free will.
"You were a Confessor? I didn't think that was something that could change... And the Midland's are a bit of a ways away, what are you doing clear over here?"

Claidi sighed. "Darken Rahl ordered all confessors hunted and killed. They decided that they wanted to capture me instead. I was captured by a Mord Sith and have been held prisoner here for...i dont even know how long anymore. I still am a confessor, but i have no access to my power at all." She aimlessly touched the red collar around her neck.
"I do not know what is going on here but the Mord Sith all ran out with worried looks on their faces. Since i didnt actually use my power on the mord sith, she did not control my magic, and therefore could not keep me in one specific place. She did not leave anyone to guard me this time when she left. So i left. but i dont know where i am going or how to get out."

*As Cara stood at her post, she saw a man walking down the hall towards her, looking everywhere nervously. She had seen him before, one of the homeless in the market level, the one that kept shouting that the bond was their only protection against some nonsense. He stopped about 20 feet from her and dry-washed his hands repeatedly in the middle of the hall, before he started screaming."
"We're all going to be taken! May death come swiftly to us all! The Lord Rahl is gone and we are vulnera-"
*Cara cut him off in mid-sentence as she tackled him to the ground. The guard was right behind her, wrapping his huge arm around his legs as the man attempted to kick wildly. People around started to panic. They had all be on edge and now this man had pushed them right over that edge into outright fear. Women screamed that they were doomed as they ran down the halls towards more people.*
"Just what we needed" She growled as the stood up after having gagged the man and the soldier had tied his legs. Many of the men that had been wandering the halls previously now whipped out weapons, not sure what the man was saying they were now vulnerable to. Cara wished that her agiel was working, but if it was then they wouldn't be in this mess. She crouched low and took another man from behind at the legs, knowing that right now the people wouldn't be willing to listen to reason yet.*

"Well, I'm glad to see you're alive, rather than within the clutches of the Keeper. If the Mord Sith put the collar on, only a wizard of the first order can remove it, or so the legend says, and unf-"
Lyte was cut off mid-sentence by a disturbance in the hallway. Lyte stuck his head out the door, and pulled it in to avoid a guard.
Lyte turned and winked at the confessor. "Well, you'll see." Pulling his lyre from his back, he began picking out a tune and singing.
"The guards of Lord Rahl roam the halls/Their ent'ring this room be stalled/A gust of wind through there shall blow/And to their knees, the guards shall go!
A strong wind begins blowing through the halls.

Claidi watched him look out in the hall without a sound. "What is going on out there and what will singing songs about it do?"

*A heavy gust of wind let a man escape her grip as she had reached to grab the back of his collar. She growled as the relentless breeze threatened to push her over, and as the guard braced himself too. Bracing herself against a pole, she knew this was no normal wind and decided to track it to its source. She snapped her fingers at the guard.*
"You, stay here and do riot control. You know the procedure, don't shame yourself."
*He nodded as she moved against the wind. She knew the wind wasn't as strong as it could be, because the shape of the palace was constructed as a spell, the late Lord Rahl had told her himself, to make his power stronger, and others magic weaker. She pushed resistant civillians out of her way as she moved closer to the source.*

Lyte turned his focus back to the Confessor, Claidi. "I'm not a typical bard, I can cast magic with my music. I'm sure they've noticed us by now, so I'm happy I've reinforced the door... Can you fight at all? Because we might need to."

Claidi hesitated. "I...I dont know. I have never not had my power to assist me before...I...Dont...know how to fight without it."
She looked down, embarrassed. "And what if there are Mord Sith and they regocnize me?"

Lyte thought about this for a minute. "I'm sorry, I can't teach you how to fight in this amount of time, but I cant cast an enchantment on you."
Again pulling out his lyre, he began to sing. "The lights that shine, the colors swirl/Cast a charm to hide this girl/Cast her image out of mind/To be the one Mord Sith can't find!"
Putting his lute on his back again, he begins breathing deeply. "Wow... I don't recognize you, definitely a good thing, but I don't think I'll be able to cast again for a while... Something's making these spells more exhausting than they normally are."

There had seemed to be enough people guarding the area around the Garden of Life so Dierdre went down a hall to stay nearby but to keep the calm. She could have sworn she could hear wind go down one of the hallways nearby so she headed down that way to see people screaming and running. What in the Keeper's name happened down there. She turned and began running down the hall to stop the people before they could get to the more populated areas of the palace. Though the agiels didn't work Mord Sith had plenty of other ways to keep the peace. Particularly the plates of metal in their gloves and boots. But she wasn't sure how well one woman could hold off against the small crowd running wild. She grabbed the ones she could and fought with them in an attempt to at least knock them out so they couldn't cause more alarm through the palace.

Claidi felt a wave of cool air flow across her. "Really? I look different? Thank you so much!" She touched the collar at her neck. "Now if only i could find someone to get this off so i can use my power. The first person i would use it on is that hated Mord Sith! I will do what i can to help you fight but i cannot make any guarantees at how good i will be."
Her eyebrows crinkled together as she frowned, pronoucing the worried look already on her face.

"Well, I don't have any weapons other than my lyre, and I'm not hitting anyone with this, it's more valuable in one piece. wink But, considering where we are..." Lyte turned around to the counter, opening drawers until he found what he was looking for. "Ah, here we are! Knives. Good for food and defense if necessary." He holds out two knives for Claidi.

Claidi took the knives hesitantly. They looked sturdy enough but she was not sure about how much damage a kitchen knife would do. She took a deep breath. "ok so now what? do we jsut wait here for them to find us?"
Even with her newfound disguise, she still looked worried about the fact that she would be found by the Mord Sith and forced back into captivity.

Lyte noticed her eyeing the knives. "Yeah, I know, they're just kitchen knives, but that's all we've got right now. And yeah, all we can do is wait. And hope they can't get in, but I don't put much stock in hope.
