Nadira Mr Jes Nadira I'm already very into it. The first episode, the "red unofficial sentai ranger" has lots of parallels with my own life: I'm a huge fan, a few years younger than 29, and jump for joy when I see Sentai/Garo/Power Rangers/Kamen Rider stuff. Then I remember my age, and try to tone it down a couple notches. Then I remember that practically no one around me knows about my private fandom life, and then I just grin, and go on my marry way. I freaked out this one woman, because her son had power ranger shoes. I commented to the kid about them, and asked him which ranger was his favorite. I ended up knowing more about the rangers than he did (he was 3 or 4 and I was 12). The mother asked me if I wanted his shoes. That was weird to me. She started taking them off and handing them to me, at that point I turned and ran away. I was freaked out. I don't talk about my PR fandom to anyone, I usually dominate the conversation by getting "too deep". I'm not one who just talks about who's cuter: Tommy or Jason?" I am more of the: "If Zordon was around for a long time, then why didn't he know about Ivan Ooz, and why didn't he hard boil his egg, seal it in a dumpster, and dump it into a black hole? Why didn't he do that to Rita? If Zordon had many teams prior, we could get a way with a Gokaiger like script" etc., etc... At this point, I learn that no one wants to continue the discussion with me...and I am back to square one: The fan who has no friends. haha. So, where was I going with this? Oh, so the first episode reminds me of : ME. The "Lone Ranger" if you will. Lol You sound like me when I reveal, sometimes accidentally, my love for Tokusatsu... Namely Kamen Rider. It always surprises them and makes me feel sometimes I should watch shows more my age. But then again, I remind myself I've always been a fan of Super Heroes and that my Japanese level is that of an Elementary Student (The Target Audience) anyway. xd Correction. The over-logical/serious fan has no friends. It's nice to talk about it occasionally I think so long as you don't get "to" into it. ^^;; ((Yes, I've experienced both extremes. The previously mentioned one and the way to into it one... kinda like the main characters of this show are. xd )) I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. Probably wont spawn its own franchise by the looks of it (Yeah, I know to early to tell), but it's sure going to be good while it lasts. Hopefully I didn't jinx anything either. "too"^ "too"^ What? ^^;; Also, a bit of a correction for a my last post. I meant to say "when I reveal my love of Tokusatsu to people from Japan. It's really funny to see their reactions. Also that bit about the over-serious fan was a bit harsh. ^^;;

I believe she was correcting your use of to/too. There you should have used the double o version of the word. 'so long as you don't get "too" into it.'
I saw the first episode finally. It wasn't too bad. Certainly had interesting moments to it. I like that the show is obviously geared towards comedy and embraces that quite a bit. I didn't get much of a "for adults mainly" feeling from it, even from the preview for episode 2. The only thing is the main bad guy being a bit revealing, but it isn't like that design hasn't been done for female Sentai villains in the past. I guess I'll just have to watch and see.

I was able to do the first, but wasn't able to do the second. Quote: The over-logical/serious fan has no friends. It's nice to talk about it occasionally I think so long as you don't get "to" into it. It's "too into it". I can suspend my belief of reality for television, but I always get stuck on the wording or grammar. I may have issues with spelling myself, but it's the flow of words that gets to me the most.

I love that show, and I've only seen the first two episodes. I wonder if there will be more rangers.

I'm surprised that the three haven't been thrown in the loony bin, since they've been "acting out" in public. They are in their delusion, but their bodies aren't. Ha ha.

Nadira It's "too into it". I can suspend my belief of reality for television, but I always get stuck on the wording or grammar. I may have issues with spelling myself, but it's the flow of words that gets to me the most. I've recently completed a course in Copy Editing and actually am on Pay Roll for my university's paper. Though I really don't care about other peoples' grammatical mistakes, unless there are major ones. Night Clubs in Japan? Oh boy, you have no idea. xd
