I haven't gotten to see as many musicals as I'd like, but my all time favorite it WICKED. <333 I've been lucky enough to see it twice - once here, and once on Broadway while on a school/band trip. I highly recommend it. heart A couple years ago I got to go see Cats, too. I want to see Phantom of the Opera SOOO BAD ;A; and Lion King. Aside from professional productions, I try to watch my school's main play every year. It's usally a musical. They've done 'the Wizard of Oz' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. I used to take the theatre class...but now I just go to support my friends.

Reviving this topic because Musicals. <3
I've seen Phantom, CATS, Peter Pan, Annie, Lion King, a portion of Wicked -unfortunately I had to leave the theater early but the portion I was able to watch was enjoyable- and a handful of others. A traveling troupe is coming to perform a condensed version of Fiddler this fall at the community college's new theater and I have plans to see it if nothing clashes with the schedule.
When it comes to local things and acting... I'm usually crew backstage assisting with audio, mics, costumes, or props or generally whatever else is needed of the stage crew for a certain show[this year we had a grand time not going insane during costume and scene changes for Sound of Music over the summer. If given the chance to have children play "Marionettes" in a show again, stringless... always stringless. The puppet strings found any way possible to tangle themselves backstage.] or support vocals offstage for musicals myself. I'm sure the stage itself is great fun but I'll stick to things behind the curtain. xD Next winter we're planning to have Hairspray if we can build a large enough cast and our dance instructor doesn't run away screaming from the mere idea of choreographing such a nightmare.

Marionettes come to life when people aren't looking and twist their strings : o They're evil! I LOVE HAIRSPRAY EEEE <3 I wish we had a cool thing like that! My college is doing a Christmas Carol musical that the theatre instructor's wife wrote/composed/etc, and I'm auditioning for it, just for kicks. : ) If we were doing Hairspray, I would kiiiilll.
