Zack was not necessarily a light sleeper, but he knew the sensation of someone getting out of bed well enough to know that he didn't want some stranger walking around his house. A bathroom break, he could understand. A glass of water, sure.

But this wasn't just a few seconds, and though sleep was trying to call him back into its warm embrace, he forced himself to sit up and go find Raven.

Zack didn't bother getting dressed; he was still in a pair of sweatpants. It was a bit chilly, but he was going to be getting back in bed any second now. Or, at least, that was the plan. Get Raven, tug her back into bed, sleep.

But it seemed like Raven had other plans.

The sound of a voice from the living room made him pause at his door. She was talking to…herself? No, she was on the phone. Her ringtone must have been the noise that had first roused him, before he'd even realized she was climbing out of bed.

Raven sounded upset, and it was with a grim realization that Zack assumed the fiancé had called.

What a waste.

But, they were already talking, and you always learned the most about someone when they were emotionally compromised, unfaltering their words, so…

He crossed his arms over his chest to fight off the cold and leaned against the wall. It sent a chill down his spine (it was a poorly constructed plan) but he tilted his head so he could hear better.

He didn't need to see Raven to know she was upset.

Knowing that she was powered made her sound a lot less crazy, but even this conversation proved to be too much for him to follow easily. Mirrorwalking must have been that thing she was talking about, getting from one mirror to another, even across the country? But if her fiance could do it, it meant he must have been one of them. A Dark Mirror Senshi.

Zack narrowly avoided scoffing; typical.

She spoke highly of him, though, 'My Prince'? This guy must have had her wrapped around his little finger if she was going to call him that after he put her through all this. Ugh, ridiculous.

He was going to have to work even harder to earn her affections now. Or just keep her interested. Not knowing who Chloe was made the conversation all the more interesting, and now he was just burning to get more information.

But the conversation seemed like it was toning down. She still seemed to want to go to California, and for all he knew, that meant he was still invited along for the ride.

Which gave him plenty of time to try and turn her against him.

Or, at least, have some fun.

Either way, he wasn't going to waste this opportunity. He wanted to know all he could about Raven, and whoever she was while powered up. And whoever this fiancé was, getting in the way of his fun. Zack might still have been new to this war, but he knew not to waste an opportunity to get information, and maybe Raven would open up a little more about everything that was going on. Both with her, with her fiancé, her court…

He'd take what he could get. And if she wouldn't swap information, maybe they'd just go back to swapping spit.

Maybe.

Pushing away from the wall, Zack wanted to be back in bed before Raven decided she was coming in; he wasn't about to get caught for eavesdropping. It was too cold for her to stay out there for the rest of the night wearing as little as she was, so he just crawled back in bed, made himself comfortable, and waited for her to return to his side.

He didn't have a doubt in his mind that she wouldn’t be back.

Tomorrow would be interesting.
