Go where the needle is pointing. Well, yeah, that had been what he'd been trying to do. He hadn't even seen the needle. How could he have followed it without seeing... Fisher sighed. If that was how it was going to be...
Pride prodding him to take the lead even though he still had no idea quite what he was looking for, the man aimed to stride on ahead of Henry and Lazarus, but just then the wind picked up, whipping past at harrowing speeds. The pleasant day turned chilly and ominous, and Fisher folded his arms once more, bending his knees slightly in an effort to keep his balance.
"This is it, right?" he shouted over the deafening roar. "How do we catch it?"

Turning around, Lazarus was going to look at the compass in Henry's hand and managed to catch a glimpse of the needle going wild before the deafening howl kicked in. Instinctively, he covered his ears with his hands as he got low. The wind was picking up suddenly and he could feel it pushing against his body, threatening his balance. Never had he felt a wind so fierce before, and coming from every direction as well.
"This is definitely it!!" He shouted through the loud noises. The wind was enveloping them, surrounding them. If he opens the jar right here and now, it should be an easy catch since the fel essence is right on top of them. At least, he hope so!
Lowering himself to the ground so as to not fall over, he lowered his backpack and took out a fel essence jar. It's easier said than done with the howling in the ear and wind beating from every direction. His hair whipping everywhere on his face. Once he had the jar in his hand, he immediately opened the cork top.

Henry had barely enough time to register the compass going crazy before the wind howled and tore at him. With a quick glance to the rest of his group, who seemed to be holding it better than him, the nurse looked back to the needle just as the wind picked him up and tossed him aside. His few moments of being airborne were accompanied by frantic flailing and a surprised expression stuck on his face.

Although Lazarus opened the jar it seemed that the wind sensed the magic trying to pull it in and decided that it did NOT want to go in there. Blowing over - and bowling over - Henry, the howling, churning wind pulled away from the group as suddenly as it came upon them. From the way the grass rippled and the leaves of the trees pulled at their branches, the wind was heading for the diner itself! Even from where Team A stood (or lay, in the case of Henry) they would be able to see the windows on the back of the building shaking with the force that would be hitting it shortly. Even though it had only been out a short time, it was quick to grow stronger.

She eventually managed to find stable footing, enough to allow her to get a look around without worrying too much about falling over. The wind, clearly unnatural, was what they seemed to be looking for, and she was able to see Laz take out one of the collection bottles they had brought along. However, either he wasn't able to open it or it didn't work, for the wind kept howling and whipping around.
Since she wasn't sure what she could do to help the capturing process, she instead struggled over to where Henry had fallen over in an attempt to help him up.

Fisher didn't know quite what to do either, but he went for it anyway, jogging around between the diner and the wind as best as he could, considering the wind was... well... wind. He began to wave his arms like he was trying to spook a flock of birds, all the while still kind of hunched over in the hope that he wouldn't be blown off of his feet.
"Shoo!" he shouted into the air. "Get in the jar!"

He muttered a curse word as the wind blew out of his grasp, the jar obviously being a little ineffective at the moment. How close must he get to capture this wind?!
Red eyes looking over to Fisher as he cried out. The jar! Of course!! Digging out three more from the bag, he threw two towards Nell and Henry, who were nearer to him, and rushed on towards Fisher to put another in his hands. "We need to catch it somehow, let's hope one of us gets lucky!" And if anything, more jars would definitely increase their luck.
However, in his effort to distribute the jars, the wind had began to travel towards the diner, and drawing some attention from the visitors within as they peaked out the windows. The wind was traveling faster than they could run, and it was at times like this that Lazarus wished he still had his wings. Nevertheless, he began to bolt back towards the diner, trying to get as close to the wind as possible.

With Nell's help, it was short work for Henry to be back up on his feet. Just as soon as he stood, Laz tossed over the couple of bottles.
"Sounds easier said than done--" he quipped, immediately running to the direction of the diner.

The wind hit the diner with the force of a low-level hurricane, blowing shingles off the roof effortlessly and rattling the windows and doors something fierce. People in the diner were exiting both out of curiosity and fear and some were taking to their cars as the wind blew them off their feet, pealing out of the parking lot in a squeal of tires and a spray of gravel.
The wind almost seemed to have become stuck on the building, but that was far from the truth. It swirled around the diner, howling furiously, as it broke the TV antenna off the roof. The metal object was sent spinning in the invisible currents before the wind threw it at the approaching team. It now has weapons. Roof shingles began to follow.

The wind, somehow, managed to get even stronger than before, and she was barely able to keep a grip on the bottle that Laz had given her. Eventually she managed to get the top of it off, tucking it into a pocket so she wouldn't drop it. And then back into the fray she went, her head bowed almost to her chest as she struggled to walk into the oncoming gale.

With his own bottle in hand, Fisher only hesitated a moment before hurrying back into the miniature tornado's range. This was probably a completely idiotic move, but the essence had reached the diner and with the way it was tossing things around, someone was bound to get hurt before too much longer. Someone like him.
He tried to dodge away from the flying antenna and mostly succeeded. It caught his outstretched arm and ripped his jacket, knocking the bottle out of his hand and onto the grass. He scrambled for it, fighting the whipping wind as he stood straight again, eyes closed against the debris. He held the bottle in the air. Hopefully it would be enough.

It was enough.
The writing on the parchment inside the jar began to glow brightly as soon as the lid was removed. The writing lifted from the surface of the paper, becoming like tendrils and flowing out of the mouth of the jar toward the whipping wind, which continued its attack on the group with a hail of shingles and a once-charming weather vane. Try as it might, no matter what it threw, the end result was inevitable as soon as the magic Dr. Kyou imbibed activated. There was a rushing sound as the wind was pulled inward and the howling it still made sounded...fearful? Sad? No, both.
In Fisher's hands the jar rattled harder and harder until every last gasp of wind was sucked in, upon which the tendrils took up the lid, snapped it in place, and faded back into scribbled runes and magic wording.
Fel Essence #62 Howling Wind What makes the wind howl? Depending on a few factors actually. If the air movement is high enough and vibrates at the right frequencies, we would hear it 'howling'. We could also hear a howling wind if it is passing by fast enough between two buildings. Like the concept of whistling. However, this gust of wind is not flowing fast enough to produce sound. It just felt like a gentle cooling night breeze, but accompanying it is an awful howling sound that makes you feel uncomfortable. Almost sounded like the howling of a wolf mixed into the sound of the wind. The moment the lid shut, the Essence quieted down - harmless once more.

A sense of panic risen inside of Lazarus as he watched the wind tore over the diner and started throwing things at them. He managed to duck a few, barely missing a shingle against his horns. He knew his shouts will not be heard through the howling, but he tried to motion for the people in the diner to stay inside for safety anyway. The only consolation is that the wind seemed to only want to hurt them, and not the other civilians.
In a loud, ear piercing gust the wind blew against him, forcing him to kneel down since he almost lost his balance. However, something different was happening. As Lazarus turned his head around, he managed to witness the wind getting sucked into Fisher's bottle with a ghostly howl.
And then everything was quiet again as the wind settled.
Shingles and debri the wind picked up now strewn over the ground. Lazarus got up and walked towards Fisher, smiling and giving him a firm pat on the back. "Good job!" Using his fingers he straighten his hair. Then he noticed curious people began to gather outside of the diner, most of their eyes on them. "I think we should get out of here as soon as possible though." He didn't want more trouble or be questioned as he began a small jog back towards Henry's car, stuffing the Howling Wind fel essence jar into his bag as he does so.

Henry had just barely stood against the harsh winds as they swept the few of them toward the diner, but once Fisher had managed to catch the essence, his stride stopped short of Laz before the Valsaros began a dash toward his car. Chuckling under his breath, the nurse then followed suit.
Hopping into the driver's side, Henry pulled away from the diner once everyone was in tow. Still being in charge of the compass, he drove until it violently pointed in the direction of a trail leading into the forest.

Well, today seemed like it was just going to be full of sudden changes, for the wind died down as quickly as it began. Nell was left blinking in confusion, and only moved into action when everyone began to file back into the car.
"What do you think this one is going to be?" she asked as they began to pull to a stop near a forest.
